GONNAKRAAL ROAD, LITTLE BRAK RIVER, Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
"Sixteen of us arrived for breakfast at 0700 to be met by 4 Giraffes, a terrific start to the day. The food was superb and included fizz. For this we had an hour and before we set off in a 4x4 lorry the clever one's went to the loo! The game drive went to the giraffes, antelopes, wildebeest (gnu), zebra and rhinoceros's first and then across a big plain before climbing up to the elephant and lion enclosure. We saw elephants up close but the lions were hiding and although our guide gave it his best shot, they could not be found. Once out of the enclosure some of the party pleaded for a behind the bush loo stop and the guide obliged. The journey back was amazing if not scary with steep hills and valleys all on rough track - no tarmac here. We were out for 3 1/4 hours returning at 11:15 after a magical trip. Would I go again - yes."
"I wanted to give a higher rating but struggled with a few things to get there. First off the best part for sure was the private game drive. Cornelius was great and while it was rainy and cloudy, we made the best of it and found the animals!! He was informative and fun. The meals were ok but not amazing. The service in the dining restaurant was excellent for the most part. Even the spa was good, we enjoyed our massages. Where things fell short were with our accommodations. We were in the manor house, a more pricey option on the property and the room was just not luxury quality. It had a mildewy smell. our sheets were dirty upon arrival and had to be changed, and on the last night we noticed major amounts of mold on the bathroom ceiling. We brought it to the attention of a manager in the morning and unfortunately the reply was 'well if you had let us know sooner we would do something'. Well yes, I get it. But why is it my job to let you know about mold, isn't that your staff and/or manager responsibility to monitor cleanliness in the rooms? Disappointing and left us feeling less than take care of, especially for the price point. I would recommend going here, but do a little homework on which accommodation to select."
"This is a long overdue review. Our experience in the villas was superb as were the private game drives and walking safaris. We also went round to the main lodge and took a mornings horse riding safari on what were quite honstly the best trained and behaved horses we have ever ridden. This allowed close up experiences of the animals and I cannot recommend this activity enough if you can ride a bit. We had one shared game drive which was ruined by the behaviour af a group of eastern asian people who insisted on playing iphone music and shouting at the animals and disrespecting the guides...hence my comment to splash out on private drives if you can."

"Perna Perna was Safe, super clean, and super friendly! Mosselbay will always be the place where we had a Whale of a time because of Perna Perna!! We stayed in a great family unit and were very sorry that we did not take a another couple with us on holiday because this unit had such lovely spaces for a big family! Two balconies, outside spacious clean braai areas with patio furniture and the a top balcony that gave us opportuny to wake up with the view over the ocean and feel the fresh seabreeze in our hair and make us feel alive! "
"A really great place - in walking distance of the Point beach and restaurants and one street away from super restaurants, art galleries, shops. Our unit was 'on the road' and yet it was really quiet and we had a super view of the sea. There were great braai facilities. The place was spotlessly cleaned every day. It is also equipped with a washing machine and tumble drier. The showers were super! And inside parking. What more could a person want especially when Mossel Bay is considered to have the second best climate in the world! "
"Enjoyed my week at Perna Perna in Mosselbay. The reception staff was friendly and service was good. When I asked about resort and what entertainment is available, I was informed in friendly manner. Parking is limited. With our departure we received a wonderful surprise consisting of a goodies bag."

Foot of Robinson Pass, On R328,Garden Route, Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
"We stayed here for two nights. The setting is beautiful and tranquil, the grounds are gorgeous, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the pool is wonderful, and the cats and border collie on the property were very pleasant company. The food was excellent and the room very comfortable. One of our favorite places in South Africa. Stay here if you are in the area."
"I enjoyed every moment., Thanks for a lovely experience. I especially enjoyed the omelette with ostrich mince. It is a little frustrating to wait for the water to get warm, but the reason is explained in the brochure and well worth the wait."
"We stayed here in 1992 and wanted to see how everything was now! It was lovely and would return again if we get another chance to visit SA again!!! We had an almost candle lit dinner due to load shedding, but the food was outstanding!"

"The town is very quiet, the hotel is right by the sea, and you can see the sea from the window. The hotel is very considerate. I was very pleasantly surprised by calling me by my name when I checked in. The hotel is next to the Dias Museum and Post Tree. There is a visitor center opposite, you can easily ask for travel information."

"Bertus and Mags , could not have been more welcoming, with a personal tour on arrival , accommodation was absolutely spot on slightly quirky but in a good way, loved the outside shower, breakfast was first class cooked fresh, would highly recommend staying here if you get a chance the area surrounding the property is beautiful, we missed the giraffes but Bertus assures us they are there in the bush, will visit again if we get the chance."
"We stayed for one night .....slight difficulty getting into lodge area as you need to phone them to open gate, but there was no signal. Road to lodge was a bit bumpy but worth it once we got ther, Margret and Bertus are amazing hosts and could not of done any more, we had a tout of lodge gardens, plus the sheep. Meal of lamb was cooked to perfection but would of liked to be given the choice ofa starter or desert "
