"Sixteen of us arrived for breakfast at 0700 to be met by 4 Giraffes, a terrific start to the day. The food was superb and included fizz. For this we had an hour and before we set off in a 4x4 lorry the clever one's went to the loo! The game drive went to the giraffes, antelopes, wildebeest (gnu), zebra and rhinoceros's first and then across a big plain before climbing up to the elephant and lion enclosure. We saw elephants up close but the lions were hiding and although our guide gave it his best shot, they could not be found. Once out of the enclosure some of the party pleaded for a behind the bush loo stop and the guide obliged. The journey back was amazing if not scary with steep hills and valleys all on rough track - no tarmac here. We were out for 3 1/4 hours returning at 11:15 after a magical trip. Would I go again - yes."
"I wanted to give a higher rating but struggled with a few things to get there. First off the best part for sure was the private game drive. Cornelius was great and while it was rainy and cloudy, we made the best of it and found the animals!! He was informative and fun. The meals were ok but not amazing. The service in the dining restaurant was excellent for the most part. Even the spa was good, we enjoyed our massages. Where things fell short were with our accommodations. We were in the manor house, a more pricey option on the property and the room was just not luxury quality. It had a mildewy smell. our sheets were dirty upon arrival and had to be changed, and on the last night we noticed major amounts of mold on the bathroom ceiling. We brought it to the attention of a manager in the morning and unfortunately the reply was 'well if you had let us know sooner we would do something'. Well yes, I get it. But why is it my job to let you know about mold, isn't that your staff and/or manager responsibility to monitor cleanliness in the rooms? Disappointing and left us feeling less than take care of, especially for the price point. I would recommend going here, but do a little homework on which accommodation to select."
"This is a long overdue review. Our experience in the villas was superb as were the private game drives and walking safaris. We also went round to the main lodge and took a mornings horse riding safari on what were quite honstly the best trained and behaved horses we have ever ridden. This allowed close up experiences of the animals and I cannot recommend this activity enough if you can ride a bit. We had one shared game drive which was ruined by the behaviour af a group of eastern asian people who insisted on playing iphone music and shouting at the animals and disrespecting the guides...hence my comment to splash out on private drives if you can."
