I booked as a treat for myself and my wife as we were just starting our honeymoon together. She had no idea that I had booked STANBROOK until we pulled into the long driveway that leads to the hotel. It was dark when we arrived but you could tell straight away that it was a beautiful place to stay. We checked in at reception and Jacks dealt with us. She was very pleasant and informative and showed us to our suite. It was absolutely stunning whilst keeping the character of the original features. Jacks had our drinks sent to the room while we settled in and booked us in for dinner. The food was delicious and you could tell it was quality ingredients. The staff were very attentive but not in your face to spoil the meal. We had a lovely nights sleep and arrived for breakfast. Again the staff & food was excellent. We checked out with Jacks who again was pleasant and wished us well for the rest of our journey down to Devon. I would highly recommend a stay here for a special occasion and I’m sure as a wedding venue it would be spectacular for all guests and photos. It’s a long way from where I live in Scotland but I will be trying the hand picked hotel in Edinburgh for sure.

My wife and I were married at Stanbrook and we decided to return for an overnight anniversary stay. The hotel was superb, we were met at reception and shown to our lovely much needed warm room (Thompson) in mid Jan. It was large with a fabulous bed and soft pillows. Shower was large and just like an out of body experience. Robes were top quality as were the towels. Lunch snack menu in the bar was comprehensive and evening meal in the stunning restaurant was excellent but quite expensive. Good wine list and it was expertly served. Overall a wonderful stay and we will be back… .thank you

We were lucky enough to park outside the hotel in the cricket club car park as they were out of season. We had no problem checking in on arrival and the room was lovely and clean with a beautiful view of the river opposite. The evening meals were excellent and so was the service of all staff members. The beds were really comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The only let down was the cooked breakfast the following morning as it wasn't very warm and tasted a bit bland.. however the continental breakfast was fairly good. I choose this hotel for it's location, but overall our experience was really good and we'd definitely return.

The hotel is relatively new and the location is good. You can see the river view or the county cricket court from the room. Unlike the ordinary Premier Inn! The room is very spacious, well equipped, and the front desk staff is very helpful, efficient and friendly. But the restaurant's breakfast and dinner service was very slow (asked for a cup twice), which was disappointing. I don't know if it is because the hotel is understaffed or inefficient. This is a pity because the hotel is in a very good location. It is recommended that the hotel solve the restaurant problem!

Spa closed earlier than expected and no footwear provided like other spas visited. Small problem with the system and our breakfast booking but staff were very helpful and it was sorted immediately.

Me and my Husband spent one night here a couple of weeks ago in one of your four poster bedrooms. It was a surprise trip away that my Husband arranged for me so I had no idea I was going until we arrived there, and was our first night away from home without our Daughter. The room was beautiful. We had flowers, chocolates and Prosecco on the table, a large bathroom and a four-poster bed. Everything was spotless. We visited the bar downstairs that evening, which was nice with friendly staff, and we had breakfast in the buffet the next morning, which was all fresh and enjoyable. The bed was comfortable. The only issue we had (not the hotel’s fault as they can’t help where they are situated) is that being in the front of the hotel and above the main door that leads from the main road, it was noisy. However, it was a Saturday night and we were close to Whetherspoons and other pubs so maybe it would not be as noisy during the week. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again if we were in the area. I would just request a room on the back of the hotel.

I booked for two nights 3 & 4 September to attend a dinner, the dinner was on the 3rd so planned to stay another night to look around Worcester. On arrival I paid for the two nights but earlier in the morning of the 4th my situation changed and I need to get back to Plymouth so asked for refund! This was refused as it was company police I was informed. Must cancel before 1800hrs this request was 0900hrs. The room was very good and well above average as was the breakfast! The dinner we had on the Saturday was very poor. I can understand why smaller hotels struggle because of the poor customer service, I normally use hotels from the IHG and never had a problem like this.
