Very very beautiful hotel, the hotel is large in size, located in the center of the ancient city, completely a modern castle after the change. Plus 40 Euro upgrade to the best room in the hotel, about 100 square meters, the various facilities in the room are very intimate and modern. Next to the hotel is a Michelin two-star restaurant. The 165 Euro one-person package has a total of 16 dishes and tastes great. The hotel has a garden restaurant, orange trees, grass surrounds, very beautiful.

I expected it to be good, I didn't know that it would be so wonderful! Outstanding in every respect, facilities, comfort, staff, location. Lovely room, very good breakfast buffet, and you step out of the door into the beauty of Cáceres: what more could you ask for?

Wonderful luxury hotel, especially after a long drive after touring northern Spain. We got a deal which included a one hour visit to the spa for both of us and that was an amazing treat. It is out of town but a taxi in is about €12. Big plus was also a normal outside parking space.

Love the tune of this hotel very much. Set in a castle-like building, the decorations are also very flavorful during Christmas and New Years. The room is large enough, and the hotel is the commercial area of the ancient city. There are many choices for eating and shopping, which is very lively, but the hotel is quiet. Behind the hotel is the ancient city sightseeing area, which can be reached on foot, which is very convenient.

The surrounding dining is very developed. Behind the hotel is the old town. There is a cooperative parking lot. There are three parking spaces for loading and unloading luggage at the door. It is recommended to use the map navigation function delivered with your iPhone. Otherwise, Baidu Map is not good in city.

We were in a junior suite, giving us a sofa and desk in a separate room. It was clean and spacious and the bed enormous - but the bed was so hard. I found the hotel soulless - no restaurant service in the evening, and the cafe/bar was like a waiting room. Because the pool was not yet open (we went in May) there was nowhere green to sit outside in the shade, only on the small terrace overlooking the main road.

The hotel is very well-conserved, but it is true that it does not pass the time, very careful service, very clean, facilities in line with its category and above all very well located.
A very pleasant stay

Reviews From Real Travelers
We chose this hotel for its location and the private parking. We reserved 2 nights, but only stayed one. We arrived in the afternoon and noticed that the room was full of dust. The door handles were rusted. The small fridge was still dirty inside. This shows that they are not even cleaning it. The sheets were very thin and worn out. Both sheets and comforter were so worn out that they had a light gray color. The bathroom was in need of a good deep cleaning. A lot of dust and scratched areas. We cleaned some areas and all handles with some hand sanitizing wipes that we had brought and removed as much of the dust as possible. At that time, it was too late to find another hotel in the area, so we decided to enjoy Caceres and leave the next day. We checked on hotel.com and were able to add a night to the next hotel on our trip. We did not even unpack. We enjoyed Caceres the entire day and stayed out until late at night. The next day we left early to enjoy more of Caceres. At 2:00pm, after we had lunch, we returned to the hotel to check out. We didn’t want to waste our time giving details to the front desk person, we just wanted to leave. There was nothing this hotel was going to do to keep us there another night. It was not just the dirty room, the overall feel of the hotel just wasn’t right for us. This hotel has a lot of people coming in and out, which explains the wear and tear of the place, but not the dirty conditions. She was very apologetic that we wanted to leave, even though we didn’t complain we just said we wanted to leave, and said that she was going to call hotels.com to see if they could refund that night, but she didn’t think they would and explained something about how they pay them, etc. We told her we did not want a refund. We used the hotel to keep our luggage (we even put the do not disturb sign) and used the parking so we could stay late to enjoy more of Caceres, but now we wanted to leave. She then checked us out, we paid parking and left. When you check in, the front desk puts the room keys inside a box that seemed to be sanitizing the plastic card with ultra violet rays, yet he touched our passports and handed them back to us. They key process is more for a show. They need to pay more attention to what their cleaning staff is not doing. Judging from the amount of people that were there, they might be doing a very quick turn around on those rooms. That is not good, especially during this pandemic. We noticed a previous comment from “Juan Torres, Director General at Gran Hotel Don Manuel” stating they refunded us the money for that night. I rewrote this review to address his comment. Sr Torres, that is not true. We checked our credit card today, in case we missed it, all we have is the parking charge from this hotel. Had there been a refund, it would have come from hotels.com because we booked through them and paid in full through them. It is shameful that a “Director General” would come on here to lie and attack a g

The one way streets around the hotel are best navigated with a satnav. There are signs for the hotel on the main road but they are not visible again until you're close to the hotel. Underground parking at the hotel. Be aware you drive in on the left! Parking is free. Our 2nd floor room had twin beds as a double, aircon, kettle, (minibar sized)fridge and safe. Our shower would overflow the tray if run full pressure, flooding the bathroom, half pressure was OK though. Bathroom also had a bidet. The hotel has a very small pool but its part of the spa with an additional cost of €35 for a couple or €20 per person. The hotel is 5 minutes walk to Plaza Mayor. Breakfast was usual continental with a few heated options, no complaints. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening. It was an awkward experience, the staff appeared tense and organisation seemed poor despite the number of customers being low. The food wasn't great either. I would stay here again as the rooms are spacious, well equipped, onsite parking and located next to Plaza Mayor and the old walled Town.

We liked this hotel, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped. It is a distance out of the old town, maybe 1km or a bit more but we had no problem walking in and out every day to see the sights or eat. We had a car and managed to find street parking nearby (the road down to the public pools).

We last stayed here four years ago and liked it a lot. This time we really loved it! We came back on the strength of the hotel being so close to all the historic sights and because of the fabulous apple cake at the breakfast buffet. Both were still as good! We had a room facing the street on the 2nd floor and, thanks to two sets of double glazed windows, it was nice and quiet. Modern and with everything we needed: a safe, fridge, nice toiletries, comfy beds. All the staff were so friendly, especially the young man on reception from Zafra. Highly recommended. I went to Exe Agora CACERES with my 85 year old parents. We booked in advance thinking that like any other hotel they would be offering all the basic services for a 4 star Hotel. When we arrived there we learned that the hotel does not offer any restaurant/bar facilities not any room service. So after a long day out you could not have a simple sandwich not a salad without having had to step out meanwhile was raining cats and dogs outside. In their website is very clear the fantastic culinary options at the hotel but there was none. All the restaurants and hotels around the area were offering all services but not them. When I complained they refer to the Covid situation even though is now almost normal at most hospitality venues. We were charged over €400/night for a doble room with an extra bed. I wrote a letter to the manager and his answer was very nice eventhough he admitted that it could have been confusing when looking at the services the hotel was offering on the website but of course no discount or refund was offered. My view is not that is confusing it is just misleading people. My advice is do not stay at this hotel as there are many other hotels in the city that are cheaper with much better services.
