This is a beautiful quaint pub run by the fullers brewer.Quintessentially English it was a posting in many years ago on the route from London to Bath and beyond. The stables are now the kitchen and it is the kitchen I would like to highlight.Firstly is has a chef not a cook and the food is beautiful….however…and there is always a however, the portions are very small…..for example the octopus starter is one 6 inch tentacle……I saw it delivered to the table and the man’s face was absolute shock…..”£10 for that.I could buy a giant 🐙 octopus for the same price” he exclaimed.Woofed it down in 30secomds😂😂It’s a shame because the food is vey good. Open fire, good selection of ales and largest, fantastic staff, especially Ray behind the bar. Please Git this place it’s lovely……but don’t come here if your hungry😂😂

Idyllic evening spent at The Bull in Sonning. A really beautiful pub. Weather perfect so we sat outside. Our waiter, a University student, was excellent and very personable. The tomahawk steak was first class - good wine and good company ensured a wonderful evening, in a gorgeous location. Thank you to all at The Bull.

We stayed at the Great House to celebrate a wedding anniversary and overall the hotel didn't disappoint. Check in was easy and our room was ready earlier than expected which is always a bonus. Our room was beautifully decorated with lovely touches such as pots of sweets, free water and some lovely classic touches such as the old phone. We had a river view room which is a bit of a stretch as you have to see over some rooftop vents to see it but that cant be helped and was very nice. The room was absolutely spotless and the bathroom in particular is very high spec which you would expect in a boutique hotel like this. The bathroom was incredibly hot but not a problem at all and a fan had been provided if it was or if the main room became too hot. We were woken up by a fire alarm which went on for about 15 seconds at about 9am and certainly was a bit of a shock and incredibly loud (which is a good thing in an alarm!) but wasn't ideal. The staff didn't mention anything but an apology would have been nice but we didn't raise it so maybe they weren't aware of the problem. The only other problem which we did raise was the service in the Coppa Club which is where breakfast is served. We ate there twice during our stay and both times encountered issues with service. We wouldn't have returned but felt obliged as Breakfast was included. Considering how lovely the hotel is and the service provided is superb it is a shame it is slightly tarnished by the next door restaurant. Overall would definitely recommend staying here and certainly didn't see any of the parties that some people complain about. Hopefully will be back soon.

Stayed a single night for an anniversary and enjoyed the stay at The Great House. Booked online via Tripadvisor offers and Check-In was a breeze. A warm welcome, polite and promptly able to access our room. We booked a ‘cozy double’ room (only option left) and this is a pretty accurate description! The room was finished to a good standard, the bathroom is modern and well tiled with a great shower & lovely toiletries provided. The tea, coffee & sweets provided in the room are a nice touch too. The ‘cozy’ room is nice, but it is still a bit too tight in areas (either side of the bed for example), and there was no air conditioning on what was a hot evening in Sonning. The hotel did provide a fan in the room, which was ok but given the modern standards & finish of the room, it’s just a shame that A/C isn’t fitted. We did sleep well in the bed though, eventually, and had a good nights sleep. I would be happy to stay again. However, I would pass on the restaurant on-site though (Coppa Club), dinner for two was disappointing and despite having a breakfast also booked, we choose to eat elsewhere.

Lovely hotel. Service and staff excellent. Although hotel is in a commercial area, it is right next to Winnash Triangle station ( 5 min walk) where for £4 off peak return ticket, you can travel the 6 minute journey into Reading. The station is in the centre of Reading high street. Highly recommend Spa and treatments. Great stay.

The hotel is very quiet and the breakfast is rich. The front desk service is very good, you can help call the car, the traffic is very convenient, it takes 40 minutes to get to the airport, the overall experience is very comfortable.

The hotel has an elevator, the environment is quiet and comfortable, the room space is good, there is an open-air garden, and you can eat in the shed in the garden. The service staff is very positive and actively meets the needs of customers. It is close to Windsor Castle, and reservations are tight on weekends and the price is high. There is no hotel next to the hotel Shops and restaurants, eat in the hotel restaurant, the food in the restaurant is typical British food

After years supplying entertainment at this lovely local Berkshire venue for weddings & events it was nice to be guests (and a witness!) at my friend Marelise & Gerrard’s wedding here in spring. It was a perfect day in lovely surroundings, so relaxing and inviting; a special day with happy memories. The ceremony was lovely , the registrar made it feel personal we even shed a few tears. The bar man should get a mention for putting up with our banter & joining in! The staff were friendly and helpful. The dining room is amazing it has a formality but felt intimate at the same time and the afternoon tea was truly delightful and plentiful, you could’nt ask for more. The wedding brought family & friends together. We also made new friends from the celebration that day. It’s made me more proud to be a long-standing supplier of this venue! We’re looking forward to all the Christmas parties!

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Cantley in July 23. Numerous guests also stayed the night as we did. Everything was well organised and went off without a hitch. The ceremony room and the reception room looked lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of people commented on the venue. The food was excellent.

Great country inn that feels like home. The surrounding environment is beautiful, and the room is supplied with sufficient coffee capsules every day. The restaurant downstairs is delicious. Breakfast is ordered. If you stay for a few more days, you can try different options, and you can even ask for additional food varieties. The waiters are very friendly and enthusiastic, although sometimes they are very busy. I will definitely come to receive you immediately, but this will not hinder your comfort here.

Excellent time, warm clean large room nice looking and stylish bed comfy soft pillows, nice big shower all clean hot water large soft towels. Keller bar was easy to get to great food and the band was great with a really buzzing atmosphere the night club was good too easy music to dance to. Easy to get back to my room at the end of the night. There was a lady called Laura who was always checking the ladies and floors making sure everything was safe she even kept the loo rolls topped up! All the the staff were really friendly and it was such an enjoyable experience. The next morning I visited the spa which was really great with pool, steam and sauna etc plus gym area all Technogym equip. Then a full English breakfast there was a good selection of food all warm and tasty. The staff were well organised clean tables etc. Well worth the money for all types of groups and families staying I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you and see you again soon!

We arrived and were wowed by the architecture of the hotel building so were expecting the food to equally as good. At this point I should mention that the afternoon tea was already paid for via a gift voucher, this should be irrelevant but what happened made us feel we were treated less favourably than bill paying customers. When arrived at reception they said to go to the restaurant entrance where we will be seated. We were greeted and at first they could not find our booking. Then i mentioned the voucher and she found the booking on another slip or something. We were then sat out in the lobby bar area which was noisy and was not the most pleasant environment for hearing a conversation. Then the food arrived and the sandwiches were limp and soggy and squashed, the scones were stale and very small. There were three cakes and they didnt feel all that fresh. The waiter came and asked if everything is ok. At least our party organiser said nonchalantly ok and then the waiter asked what is wrong. We explained and he looked at it and agreed saying they should have checked this before the platter left the kitchen. As it was soggiest cucumber sandwich. He came from the kitchen with a plate of freshly made cucumber sandwich but the bread was dry so he took the plate away and then brought a fresh batch of fresh sandwiches. These were actually of the standard we would have been happy with but why weren’t they served in the first place? It felt like we were eating tomorrows stock. Anyway, a star for the waiter i don’t remember the name for going further just a shame for him to be let down by his colleagues in the kitchen. We could not finish the second plate as had lost our appetite by then and one of us had to stop to get a bite afterwards leaving hungry.

So.....after reading some of the reviews on here they would have you believe this is just a step up from Pontins. I was absolutely prepared for anything when we set off and even had a slight sinking feeling. I'd originally booked for one night with breakfast included because we had to come to the area for separate reason. I'd then decided to book an extra night and booked that night extremely last minute. I rang the hotel, giving them less than 24hrs, to see if it was possible. The guy that answered was extremely helpful and explained it wouldn't be a problem to pay for the extra night and on check-in it would be tagged as one booking. On arrival the receptionist couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and we checked in with absolutely no issue at all. The room was lovely, very well kept, extremely clean and I honestly couldn't find ANYTHING to complain about. Because that evening was very last minute we hadn't made any dinner plans so popped to the hotel restaurant for food. We were greeted by the ”infamous” Muhammad and his team and were seated straight away. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and again absolutely couldn't fault the food, the decor or the service, everything and everyone was beyond spot on. The following day we popped and used the pool facilities and again, changing rooms were clean and staff were extremely polite and helpful. My ONLY criticism (this is just MY personal preference) the temperature of the pool could have been notched up a couple of degrees, it was a wee bit chilly. We went out to a local restaurant that evening and on returning we decided to grab a coffee from the bar to take to our room. Again we were served by Muhammad who was as polite and helpful as usual and remembered us from the previous evening which was lovely. We had booked breakfast for our last morning and again with previous reviews in the back of my mind I was a bit dubious. I'll say this, if you cant find anything to feed yourself or your children at breakfast then there's something wrong with you and not the hotel. You name it and it was there, fresh fruit, pastries, cooked food, cereal, yogurt, choice of breads including bagels, choice of 4 juices...... The hot food was fresh and didn't taste like it was suffering from heat exhaustion from being sat there for hours. Again the staff were very friendly, especially the young lad who seated us (I THINK his name was Ellis, im really sorry if I've got that wrong). Checkout was fast and again we were greeted with a friendly face. We had a lovely couples weekend (doesn't happen often with an 8 year old) and that's entirely down to the hard work ALL the staff put in, not once did we feel awkward or too much trouble. We liked it so much we're planning a second stay in August for 2 nights and bringing our son for his birthday to Lego land. I'm not sure where the other reviewers stayed but it certainly wasn't the hotel we've just left and I'm sure our stay wasn't some sort

Firstly on arrival it was great to be greeted by Kay on a lovely open reception by Kay who made me feel welcomed as a diamond member. On route to our bedroom it was great to be able to read the history of the hotel back to 1327! The corridor to our room was spotless and we was both very surprised how clean our room Was and it appeared it had been recently refurbished. Large tv on extendable brackets, very modern bathroom nicely laid out room. Very comfy bed for the night. Restaurant for dinner was busy and we was met by one of the new managers who made us feel very welcome along by a young man called Ellis who excelled in his customer service and his general manner, Bravo! Dinner starters was lovely chicken wings and soup followed by steak and salmon, slight issue with my steak, was resolved immediately. Nice desert to follow. Breakfast in the morning was busy but met by the lovely Ellis who again served us in the great manner we was used too. We then enjoyed a coffee in the lovely grounds with a marquee for protection from the great British elements. Livingwell was not to busy with a nice gym to start the morning off. A lovely checkout by Kay again to start our day off. The hotel is working hard to recover from the Covid situation and I will return again as a excellent stay. Well done to team Hilton.

the second i checked in got a very warm welcome from Safia and Prachi which made me feel very happy and is clear that the staff care about their jobs, even though the staff where polite the food was undercooked on multiple occasions during my stay which had also made vomit, i personally think the managers should be more on top of food quality.

This place is trying to be everything; and it is missing the mark. Had to check ourselves in, which didn't phase us as we are quite tech savvy. But we had booked as a Legoland package so we found someone to ask for the goody bag and the lady looked at us like we were inconveniencing her. Asked same lady about food and was told we would need to book as it gets busy - booked for 6pm. Went to the local swim park - came back (starving 5 year old in tow) only to be told there was no reservation for us. Luckily the lovely lady on the door managed to find us somewhere. Kind of wish she hadn't bothered. Food wasn't great - husband actually wouldn't eat his main. Took ages to come. Becky (I think that was her name - short bob, brown hair) was the only thing that stopped us making a proper complaint. She was brilliant, despite being rushed off her feet!! Got to the room - only one toilet roll, not even full. Used it - went to ring reception for more, no phone. There was a QR code to scan to start a chat with the reception team. Very long winded. Did it - heard nothing back. Next day put the ”Come in” sign on the door hoping they would replenish - they didn't. Breakfast was CHAOS. All crammed into a small area - absolutely no flow at all. Bread ran out twice - guests had to ask for it to be replenished. Glasses for juice were still hot from coming out of the dish washer. The food was decent - much better than the evening meal we had. If you are looking for a basic stay, this will be adequate. Comfy bed. Clean(ish - there was a boot mark on the shower floor) But customer service (apart from Becky) was non-existent. Gym. Hotel. Sports bar....... doing a lot, but doing none of them particularly well.

Probably the best hotel we have stayed in working away every weekend and we stay in a leisure hotel every weekend, all brand new, jacuzzi was unreal, steam room could have been hotter, sauna was 100c which was lovely, never seen one that hot, room had air con, buffet breakfast was beautiful, very clean hotel.
