100 Woodland Pond Dr, Cary, North Carolina, United States
"Lovely location and grounds, surrounded by tall trees and a scenic pond. Nice paved walking trail around the waters edge. The rooms were fantastically clean and classically luxurious. Housekeeping was outstanding. Turndown service, one of the best I have ever had in the United States. The restaurants serve delicious meals, we were very impressed with the food quality. One thing to be aware of is the hotel has a very formal atmosphere. There are dress codes for dinner and a rather hushed feel around the lobby and other public areas. Also, during the weekend that we were there, they would not let guests use the spa facilities unless they paid over $150 for a spa treatment. This was very unwelcoming and disappointing, being a guest who had traveled far to be at this hotel. Plus because it was winter the outdoor pool was shut and so the hotel activities felt very limited. One thing to be aware of, you are quite far way from civilization. Luckily we enjoy nature and welcomed the all natural location and respite from city life. "
"I have family in the Raleigh area so I visit a few times a year. The Umstead is by far my favorite hotel in the area, so much so that I have rescheduled trips around its availability. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and up to date. The service is professional but friendly and accessible. Most importantly for me, one of my family members has numerous life threatening food allergies. We had a great breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the staff did an excellent job accommodating his allergies and keeping him safe. Thanks to everyone at The Umstead for another excellent experience all around."
"Attended a friends wedding at the Umstead which was beautiful. And since they had a block of rooms decided to stay. The room was spotless and being a germaphobe clean freak it’s passed my high standards. The bed was very comfortable and room relaxing for the time I spent in the room. I think someone should show quests how to use certain amenities like the iPads in the room to control things. The valet guys were very friendly. And the Sunday check out front desk girl was nice as well. "

"Such a great stay so far, checking out tomorrow sadly! We have traveled to Raleigh twice in last year to look at homes from California and stayed at nice hotels in other areas, clean and good stays, but always wanted to stay here because we love embassy suites for the amenities with the kids...the price was a bit lower than usual because of covid so we booked even though a bit further from our new home in apex. Upon arriving late in evening on direct flight to Charlotte and drive to Raleigh and really long day, with 4 kids and a dog, I was blown away at the remodeled and incredible clean lobby and room! Special credit to Sheri upon check in, she was beyond friendly and so informative, I’ve stayed at 100’s of hotels, many embassy suites and my father was in the hotel business for 40 years, so I’m picky about hotels. Embassy suites in California have really gone down hill lately in the past 10 years, between service, cleanliness, etc, this one was just incredible. Sheri just made a long day so much better! The room was so clean, like brand new, great beds, plenty of room for kids, kids loved the pool, pool shower, breakfast was excellent and chef was very friendly, finally a hotel with hot cooked food not their usual but far better than expected during covid, after many hotels with bad grab and go food during pandemic. The next morning Ashru was so friendly and helpful especially with letting us know there was laundry machines on 5th floor even giving us a detergent pods 🙏...there must be something in the water at this hotel because the culture and staff and cleanliness goes well above and beyond, the general manager serves credit for creating such a great culture and top notch service and cleanliness standards! This hotel made a very stressful trip moving from the west coast with 4 kids and a dog and no furniture (maybe for 2 weeks) so much easier and enjoyable! Even though it’s further from our new home, I plan to recommend family that visits stay here if we don’t have room, it’s just incredible and now a special place to our family as our first stop on our relocation! We will be back for a weekend getaway soon! "
"Let’s start with the good: The hotel (lobby & rooms) looks very nice. The renovation was very necessary. We were able to check in early which was appreciated. The front desk associates were pleasant. That’s all I have for positives, unfortunately. The tile flooring in one of our three rooms was soaking wet, slippery, and had some brown sticky stains on it. The countertop was also soaking wet. The bathroom door frame had some unidentifiable red stains on it. All of which we cleaned up because that’s our job as guests, right? The drawer in between the double beds had wrappers (garbage) which were likely left by the previous guests of that room. The table and chairs all had crumbs left on it. All signs that the room was not thoroughly cleaned as it should be at any given time but ESPECIALLY during a pandemic. This hotel fell short of their commitment to “providing guests with a clean, comfortable space” - taken directly from the website. Additionally, all rooms felt hot so we immediately set the thermostat to the lowest it would go @ 60 degrees to get them to cool off while we went to the pool at 4:30p. When we returned at 6:30p, the rooms were still hot. Apparently the hotels HVAC system was not working properly. Yes, I brought this all to the attention of the front desk to which the initial response to my complaint re: the housekeeping of one of our rooms was “we have been short staffed lately” as if I was supposed to accept their staffing problems as a reasonable excuse as to why our room had clearly not been cleaned thoroughly. They sent someone up to clean up the mess we literally had already cleaned up, gave us one fan to share amongst our three rooms, sent up a very nice tech after 11pm to “fix the AC” (he didn’t fix it), and offered to discount one room. We were miserably hot, uncomfortable, completely mad, sleepless, and couldn’t wait to check out of all three rooms the next day. By the time we checked out the next morning, the room and even the hotel itself felt a bit cooler. Some lady named Sherry reached out to ask how my experience was so I shared it with her....and was met with radio silence. Won’t be recommending."
"It was a small short weekend getaway for a friend and his niece and family for Spring break but it was a memorable one as the climate change was drastic by late March and would have prohibited such a trip. The timing was early March, the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, clean elegant and immaculate! The staff from the senior night auditor to the front desk management was just inviting professional and outstanding! The renovations were worth the wait as the property is gorgeous!!"

"This was our second stay at this location, we have family in the area. I had checked us in on line. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Veronic at the front desk. She had our reservation and room keys ready for us and directed us to the room. The hotel is laid out in a way that makes accessing the rooms really easy. At Veronic's direction we drove around to the back of the building and entered with our key through a door that was very close to the room. The room, and the entire hotel, were spotlessly clean, and the room was spacious and very comfortable. And the bed was a dream! The cafe serves a very nice breakfast and really good coffee. And the staff were super friendly and helpful. A big shoutout to Veronic ."
"When u enter the property ask for Harvey. He provides awesome customer service. Everyone provided good service and rooms were clean. Harvey was a good resource for different dinning options. Hook’em Horns 🤘🏻"
"Overall this hotel is just fine. It looks like they have recently upgraded but the job was poor. The bed was not comfortable, I can't say it was too soft or hard but just not comfortable. I slept very poorly. At check-in I had requested a late checkout but all they would offer was till 1pm even though the hotel was virtually empty. I counted about 25 cars in the parking lot. Anyway, the next day while I was on a conference call I was interrupted 3 times because they had not marked the late checkout. I even had the do not disturb sign up. The third time was just as I was leaving at 12:45 and she was downright rude. She was like so are you a bonvoy member, how often do you stay etc. And then was lecturing me about how my request was not on the form. Why not just apologize for the mix-up instead of treating your paying customers poorly. Pass on this property, there are better options nearby that seem to care about their customers."

"I arrived for a one night stay at this Extended Stay location and was greeted by Angel at the reception. Due to the the circumstances (pandemic), there was no breakfast offered and there was plastic shielding hotel staff from guests. Angel quickly advised me that she was not ill, but was simply taking precautions with her face mask and large hand gloves (they were the kind I use to wash dishes at home). She also mentioned that the credit card keypad was sanitized, that the hotel was taking all precautionary measures. What I appreciated most were her professionalism, her calm demeanour and that she mentioned any assistance or questions I might have, she was there to assist. Many thanks to Angel for the warm welcome and for being of service during this time. The king bed was firm, just how I prefer, was very comfortable. In addition, the room was equipped with a kitchenette (I believe my room was 117 facing the back parking area). All in all, was a decent price for the amenities."
"We were staying there because my dad is very ill and left each morning and came back at night. We had our two dogs with us we arrived at 11 AM after driving all night although check-in is at 3 PM we paid additional and we’re allowed to check in early. we had to pay extra for having the pets due to having to sanitize the rooms after our stay it would’ve been helpful had of been sanitized before as it had a odor when we entered we looked under the bed to retrieve a dog toy and found candy wrappers old lottery tickets and dust and dog hair. we were very tired so rested a couple hours and then went to see my dad at my sisters home and took our dogs with us. when we came back about 9:30 PM there were ants all over by the sink my husband notify the front desk they said they were no maintenance now they would see what they could do well nothing was done each evening when we got back we killed ants all over the counter. The outside door was usually left ajar and garbage was overflowing outside and people were loitering out there. breakfast had lots of sugar and sugar and creamer‘s I have diabetes so couldn’t have coffee or all the sugary carbs. the dog walk area had dog waste all over the place we brought bags to pick up after ourselves although others don’t. In conclusion on our last night I was awakened by what sounded like a shower in the bathroom and was on so I went in and water was flowing through the exhaust vent like a shower onto the bathroom floor into the toilet and bathtub we found out later we walked through toilet water from a toilet of a room above that had overflowed the hotel did relocate us to a different room but we ended up checking out early since we had to pack up anyways and move we wanted to speak to a manager but we’re told we had to come back at 9 o’clock we went back and they refunded our last night we would probably avoid staying at this hotel again. picture attached of hallway right outside room lots of water also have video of waterfall into bathroom disgusting hope we don’t get sick from it"
"My family and I moved into the Extended Stay in Cary for a week while undergoing home repairs. We had to move to a new hotel midweek because of safety and security issues. I was okay with the basic, dated rooms in need of thorough cleaning and minor maintenance. But I heard domestic violence across the hall and witnessed drug use, drinking and loitering outside the side door, which was frequently propped open. There was a pervasive atmosphere of neglect, evidenced by overflowing trash cans, litter, and mud clots and dirt throughout the hotel. This hotel in in serious need of better management and on-site security."

"Very warm hotel, clean and well equipped, children like it very much, good value for money, there is a special bus to the airport. It is more appropriate to transfer to this hotel, and I will consider this home next time."
"The hotel is very old and the switch in the room is very original. There is a microwave in the room, which is very convenient."
"There is a car to and from the airport for your convenience."

"Stayed here while bringing a high school team to NXR. It was a convenient location and a comfortable stay at a fair price. Nice updated lobby complete with warm chocolate chip cookies, never a bad thing. Check in person was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and well furnished. The bed felt a little less supportive than I like, as if it might have been past its prime. The complimentary breakfast was well done, with a nice variety of fresh choices. I would note that the building seems to be a work in progress, as you seem to move from a freshly renovated space, to one less so , then back again as you move about. No biggie, just worth noting. "
"Great service, great place to stay. Staff was awesome. Super clean room. I would definitively stay here again. Close to shoppes and restaurants and I-95 Highway. The kind of place where you don't have to worry about anything. A+"
"This was a disappointing stay and I won't be returning to this hotel if I can help it. Here are some specifics: - The biggest offense was the smell (Room 103). It smelled like body odor and for that reason alone, it's enough to keep me away from this hotel in the future. The room was clean, so it is either a very poor choice in fragrance or the building/walls just has an awful smell to it. - I could easily hear the guests above stomping around, and the issue didn't seem to be the guests. The floor/ceiling simply did not block much of the sound. Similarly, there was a lot of noise coming from the outside. It didn't help being on the first floor right in front of the main entrance, but that's just poor planning in the structure of this building and placement of rooms. Why there would ever be a room directly in front of the pool is beyond me. Thankfully it is winter so at least the pool wasn't being used (though I expect by its appearance it is not used often. - The "premium" WiFi ,the one that costs $5/night, was abhorrent. Simple tasks like streaming videos lead to constant buffering. I would never trust Marriott's pitch on premium WiFi again, ever. These are much more minor points: - The bathroom door was cracked. That seemed like a strange oversight given this is a Marriott hotel, I would have thought things like this get repaired regularly. - I was surprised how outdated the rooms looked given competition with hotels in the area. The room definitely needs some renovating. A couple things the hotel did have in the 'pros' column, though in no way exceptional/superior to what you would expect as service in a hotel stay: - The staff was nice. - The room was clean. - The kitchenette had some silverware which was good when ordering delivery."

500 Caitboo Avenue, Cary, North Carolina, United States
"We were reluctant to travel/stay during COVID however, the cleanliness of this hotel exceeded our expectations. Extra precautionary measures have been put into place (seals/stickers on doors confirming that they have been cleaned, 2 person minimum on elevators, etc.) Check-in was super easy and we were recognized as Hilton Honors members. Check-out was just as simple. The general manager (TK?) was extremely helpful. When I asked about the nearest coffee spot he offered complimentary K-cups for us to brew prior to leaving so that we could enjoy our joe-on-the-go! We will definitely stay at Doubletree by Hilton Raleigh-Cary during our next visit out!"
"There was no hot water in room 201 (500 caitboo avenue NC) - and no one from service came to fix it after telling them twice - so we were moved to 205 - there was no cold water. The front desk had no way to tell if the ticket was even looked at. The breakfast buffet was gross. Typical fair - just did not look appetizing. There was a booger on one of the sheets on one of the Queen beds. We left the card they give you if you want the sheets changed - right on the bed in the area where this booger looking thing was - so you think they would change the sheets right? - when we got back and checked - the same sheets were on the bed and that same crusty booger looking thing was still there! For some reason the entry area near the closets smelled like BO - in BOTH rooms. I will not be returning. "
"We had previously stayed at this hotel and the staff was so nice and friendly we decided to make it our home away from home on all our travels for business with the NC Dental Society to Cary. We have booked in advance for our next three meetings."

"More than 10 hours from New York City, the car did not light off at the exit of 293, found this hotel area nearby, there are 3 hotels, this and the other are owned by Marriott, from Raleigh Uber 13 in the central area, we arrived at 6 o'clock in the morning, another best western hotel in the same hospital has to wait until 3 pm, but the front desk agrees to stay immediately, including breakfast, no need for any meal coupons, Marriott The hotel is fantastic! In addition, the house price changes very much every day, the double bed room on Saturday includes more than 640 inclusive of taxes, and the twin room on Sunday contains 4 early 539 tax, and Monday has become 800, including tax, I don't know why... ."
"Fairly good airport hotel, although the location is relatively close to the airport, it is quiet to sleep at night. The downside is that there is no airport shuttle at night. I take a taxi for 3 kilometers. The driver directly charged me $10 without a meter. Normally there is an airport shuttle during the day, and the shuttle driver is more humane. I rent a car at the airport, and the driver sends me directly to the car rental company’s parking lot. Remember to tip when you get off the bus!"
"Good breakfast, quiet, big room, big bed, clean bathroom. The transportation is convenient. It’s China’s big harvest when you go out. It’s convenient to cross the road to the Daya Supermarket."
