Booked 5 rooms through *********** Before arriving, the hotel tried to take out full payment from my card, even though l selected the ‘pay at hotel’ option when originally booking. This happened on 5 occasions so beware, they can screw your bank balance up as they are eager to get paid?

Eaten here twice. The service is good, friendly staff and the restaurant is clean. The meat is tasty and they have excellent burgers but some of the dishes were served cold and the lamb chops did not have a lot of meat. Some adjustments and I would give five stars.

El hotel es nuevo y por tanto es cómodo, pero las habitaciones no están bien insonorizadas. Nos alojamos en la planta baja y se echa en falta una puerta antiruido entre la recepción y las habitaciones. Es cómodo si únicamente vas a dormir porque está muy limpio y se aparca bien, pero no tiene cocina y para cenar o comer es necesario moverse en coche, aunque el pueblo no esta lejos.

Guest rooms and some public areas have been updated to give more of the hotel a contemporary feel. Location excellent of course. We booked a river view room: the view was great but you have to stand to see it. A room with balcony might be worth the extra cost, but there is a nicely furnished public outdoor terrace with views of the river and hills. Spacious room, spotless and recently decorated, walk in shower. Parking used to be free, now 5 (others had obviously found free street parking). Lift now reaches the car park and River Club level. Meals are slightly cheaper when booked with the room. Restaurant has been redecorated but still lacks any atmosphere. Breakfast is good for the price, but we would have enjoyed the bacon and omelette more if they were hot, or at least warm. Shower gel and soap (no shampoo) in small plastic packets, poor coffee and ”juice” at breakfast: minor things but just seemed to be penny-pinching!
