Reviews From Real Travelers
From the moment I arrived until I left, customer service was stellar. Upon check-in I was greeted warmly and quickly. I was early, so my assigned room was not ready. I was immediately placed into a comparable room. As a Diamond member I was given bottles of water, a warm cookie and some other snacks. It felt like I had been to the grocery store. Location is very convenient to downtown and public transportation. The few dollars it costs for a premium room is definitely worth it. A friend stayed here at the same time and didn't upgrade. Their room was clean but a lot more dated.

It is located between the city and the airport, and it takes 20 minutes to walk to a larger supermarket nearby. The hotel facilities are good, but there are few dining options and the price is a bit expensive. I stayed for 4 nights and went back to the supermarket to buy some food. The hotel has a self-service laundry room, which I used once was very convenient!

Parking at Denver Downton is a difficult task, the hotel offers Valet, with an unlimited number of $50 per day. Valet service special gentleman, usually give a $10 tip for each car pick and Drop off (as generous as possible, you can't be rich, you can't be rich, others will remember you when you have a good impression). The hotel is close to zoos, museums, Union Station, rugby stadiums and more. Like quiet advice, call the hotel one or two days in advance and let the hotel give Assign a Non-Joining room.

Now if this was not the Ritz and just a regular 5* hotel, perhaps I'd give it 4* but this is the Ritz! The room was fine, the staff were fine, the fitness centre was fine but nothing (and no one) was exceptional. Okay, not nothing. The food I had during my conference there was incredible! It was better than any other meal I had outside in the city. Here's my main beef. On the website, it infers that there are complimentary steam rooms by the fitness center. However, when I inquired, I was told it was $70 for a day pass! Even when I showed the front desk the website wording, they still wouldn't let me use it for 30 min. (I'll add that at the Four Seasons the previous week, I was welcomed to use the spa's steam room on a daily basis for free). See attached for the before and after wording on the website and you'll see what I mean.

After picking up luggage at the airport, they came out to Island 3, a white business car. The car is at 6:00 and half past the airport and hotel, 24 hours. The airport is about 15 minutes from the hotel. A Denver taxi starts at 2.5 and costs 2.5 for a mile.
- Guest User
It is near the airport and there is a shuttle bus. The surrounding area is a hotel and the conditions are average.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We traveled and stayed at Gaylord Rockies since my husband had business meetings there. The hotel, like all Gaylords, is large with a central atrium. They are in an expansion phase, planning to add 1,000 additional rooms and more restaurants. We were upgraded to a suite but I can still speak to the comfort of the bed and the bathroom amenities. When traveling, I frequently have issues with the mattress being too firm. I am a side sleeper and if the mattress is hard, I get hip and shoulder pain by the third night. That did not happen. But I should have asked for a pillow with more loft since the provided pillows basically become flat. The shower had adequate pressure. For dining, there is a Marketplace that has grab and go breakfast and lunch sandwiches, pastries, bottled sodas, water, wine and beer and, of course, Starbucks coffee. All the restaurants – Sports bar, Monte Jade (Asian, limited sushi) and Vista Montagne (Italian) were all really good and for Gaylord, reasonably priced. We did not dine in Old Hickory Steakhouse, a Gaylord staple, since the price is exorbitant. A big draw for this hotel is the indoor and outdoor pools which are both heated and open year round. Even with the outdoor temp at 48 degrees there were people floating around the lazy river! Beware the weekends when locals book rooms for kids birthday parties. There is no shuttle available from the airport (at most a 15 minute ride) but the shuttle does take you to the nearby light rail station where you can get to downtown Denver or the airport. We paid $6 for a regional day pass so it was cheaper than Uber. This is the fourth Gaylord I have stayed in. The layout is more similar to Gaylord National near DC rather than Gaylord Palms (Orlando) or Gaylord Texas (Dallas area.) Like Texas and Orlando, you cannot walk to offsite restaurants which may be a consideration if you are not on a group trip nor have a car. Also, Gaylord Rockies is on the east side of Denver between the city and the airport. Driving to Rocky Mountain National Park takes roughly two (2) hours. You can get to Red Rocks Amphitheater, Dinosaur Ridge, Garden of the Gods, (see separate reviews), Boulder, Colorado Springs, etc in 1 to 1 ½ hours. Yes, it is a nice property but depending on why you are in the Denver area, may not be the right place for you.

I wasn’t looking forward to staying here based off of the reviews, but it was actually a perfectly nice place to stay. Everything was new & clean - good sized room with a couch, double sinks separate from the shower, comfortable bed…really nothing to complain about as far as the room went. I was also pleased to have a few restaurants on property, as well as a little marketplace perfect for breakfast, and even a bit of a souvenir shop. The outdoor pool area was nice, the indoor pool did have a strong chlorine odor, but the slides seemed fun enough! The pool bar had a nice selection of overpriced (cmon you’re at a resort) food & drinks that were made in a timely manner. Overall everything was nice except for the location. Location just sucks as there is legit nothing to do within a 25-min drive.

Very cool place in a great location. Website could have had more details about the shared space with the Milk Market and Ally. Very pricy and could have been better focused on some details. For example, housekeeping only makes the bed and changed out towels. The room needed vacuuming and we left tips, but they never did it. We were out of tissues, so they left a new box under the counter, but didn’t put it in the case on the counter. We also had trouble finding the place because there is no sign, so when we called, we were given instructions to look for a valet stand. It would have helped if they told us the landmarks book ending the hotel, since there was no sign. It was just little things like that, which for the price, just should have been crisper. I would recommend for a trendy hotel in a great location.

Our group met Leo upon arrival at the maven hotel. He was a great resource for local knowledge on restaurants and things to do. He was extremely friendly and a very hard worker. The hotel was very nice too. Staff was helpful. Tons of things to do within walking distance.
