"Basic hotel with basic amenities. Booked this hotel because it had free parking but when we got there they didn't have space for us! Parked about a 10 minute walk away which worked out to about €12 using the EasyPark app. About a 20 minute walk to the centre, this was fine for us but others may be looking for something closer. Hotel was nice and quiet at night. "

"Hotel Galles is located next to Genova Piazza Principe railway station in a busy area, very convenient for travellers. The noise from outside can be heard during day. Fortunatelly it is less noisy during night. The surroudings are not very nice. The hotel is a bit seasoned as could be seen for the state of the amenities. However everything that was listed in the booking was there. The room had a strange smell in the first night probably due to the cleaning products but nothing that some fresh air did'nt solve. Staff is nice. "

"Good hotel close to Genova train station and only a 5-10 minute walk to the center. The room was clean, enough space and the bathroom was fine. Check in was a bit strange. A few days before we arrived we got a message via booking.com from the ower with the question what time we should arrive at the hotel. We send our arrival time and we got a message back the check in time was (as stated on booking.com) at 6 PM. We didn't understand why the owner wanted to know our arrival time then. As 6 PM is quite late for us we were ok with check in in at 6 PM but when we arrived at 4 PM didn't expect to find the hotel closed. For us check in is something different than a closed front door. So we couldn't drop off our suit cases and explore the city (as we thought would be possible and check in at 6 PM). We had some drinks in a bar nearby and went back at 5. Luckly the owner was arrived and we could drop off our suitcases in the room. So keep in mind you can only enter the hotel at 6 PM and you cannot drop off your suitcases before that time. Maybe a tip for the owner to mention this."
"I stayed at this small lovely hotel a couple of weeks ago and I would highly recommend to all my friends & family. The location is fantastic....right in the town centre, where all the shops are so in the evening it is relatively quiet. The service was very polite and genuine, the room was extremely spacious and very clean. I will definitely book again on my next visit."
"Great position because it's in the centre of the city and the palace is pretty. The room was small, essential with tv, wifi and a small fridge but too close to the reception. I booked the breakfast that wasn't available and I was refunded. The bad surprice was the private beach. I booked because the beach Bagni Italia has an agreement with the hotel. Before arriving in the city I asked if I had to book for it and the hotel told me I hadn't. When I arrived to the beach for enjoying the day, they told me it was complete and I couldn't go. Really bad for tourists! They should organize better and communicate much more."

"Self-driving from France to the middle stop of Italy. The room toiletries are my favorite Dutch brand, they are generally very good, and the breakfast is quite hearty."
"I helped my colleagues to book a business travel hotel, and the response was quite good and satisfied!"
"Breakfast is almost the same, with bread and raw meat."

"The location is very good. Just near the aquarium. There is a supermarket and breakfast shop 100 meters to the right of the hotel. The room we stayed in was the open window and the sea. It was really close to the lively place on the seaside in Genoa. It was about three minutes walk from the aquarium."
"The hotel is quite good and looks in a traditional style. It is equipped with a full range of facilities and located beside a dock. The room has a small balcony, where you can see the harbor. If you are lucky enough to live in a room in an outer position, you can see the sea in the harbor."
"It was a nice stay, even though just a night. The location is very convenient, just few minutes walk to the underground station and Genova aquarium. The room was clean and all facilities worked properly, friendly welcome when we arrived and everything was great. "

"Unfortunately the hotel was a disappointment to me. Instead of having a new, clean room the furniture really looked damaged and it wasn’t really clean, especially the blankets. If you can’t get the stains out I would suggest that you buy new sheets. We also had some ants in the room, but not too many. The view on the parking lot wasn’t quite what I had expected and when I check the pictures again, of course, the curtains are usually closed so that you don’t see it. Please - I am aware that not everyone can have seaview, but show it in the pictures when you show your rooms. We wanted to change the room and even get an upgrade but unfortunately they were fully booked. So, as the basics were okay (especially the beds were very comfy) I probably wouldn’t recommend this hotel - if you are still planning to book, make sure you get one with seaview. And check out the wonderful restaurant Link Creative Food."
"We booked this hotel because it was convenient to the airport for a stay after a long flight. THE HOTEL STAFF ARE OUTSTANDING! Welcoming, friendly, helpful and accomodating while going out of their wat to make you feel at home. Our room was modern and very well equipped with everything we could have asked for, and offered a lovely , large balcony overlooking the Marina. We were so taken with the resort that we booked again for our last night in Italy! PS The restaurant next door is definitely worth a try."
"A good hotel for a one or two-night stay, very convenient to Genoa Airport in a lovely yacht marina with views of the larger ships in the distance. A good choice of restaurants and bars nearby, becoming lively at night but quite during the day. A good size bedroom and particularly large shower. Breakfast was self-service buffet style with a good selection. Restaurant was closed due to refurbishment. A nice sun terrace on first floor where you can relax and view the boats or watch the airplanes take off and land. I felt the décor needed a little freshening up in our room as there were a few scuff marks on the wall."

"A big hotel with clean rooms! There are many halls nearby! The hotel waiters are enthusiastic about helping travelers. Most importantly, it is close to the station, and it is especially convenient to travel to and from Milan! I have lived three times and love it every time!"

"We have just come back from a mini week end in Genova. We stayed at Hôtel de Ville (why not Hotel de la Ville?). The hotel is new and it is located in two floors of an old Palazzo modernly restores just in front of the old harbor. This area has become in the last years one of the best in town, with the famous aquarium, restaurants, cinemas...The streets of the elegant shoppingare 10 minutes walk away while the famous Vicoli (the little streets of the old town) are just behind. The hotel is all decorated in beige, grey and brown tones and all around there is a beautiful collection of travel posters and affiches (if they are all original they must have cost a fortune)! Our room was huge and comfortable with a beautiful view on the harbor. Of course there is the “sopraelevata” (a busy and noisy highway) in between but the soundproof is excellent. Breakfast was ok. We went with a Smartbox and the voucher included an Aperitivo, which was tasty. But why not having a simple crodino,in Italy?"
"Firstly thank you to the very friendly staff. The rooms are very nicely done, clean and a great mixture of old 1600s architecture with modern day Interior design. Well done! We mainly booked here because we have an electric car. There is a charger Type2 and Type3c (paid Enel X) directly in front of the hotel but they also offer charging at their parking across the road. Definitely recommended! Overall great."
"My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way from Camogli to Paris. The service was impeccable. Isabella welcomed us to our room upon our early arrival (1:30 PM). She gave us great recommendations for restaurants nearby. She served us drinks after dinner, breakfast the next morning and checked us out. This is a small boutique hotel with a great staff who make it feel like you are visiting friends."

"Loved this hotel. Its very modern in styling but the building itself is old. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi to meet us at the airport, he was waiting at arrivals and helped us with luggage. He took us as close as he could, then insisted on helping again to carry cases and show us the hotel. You actually check in in a hotel opposite. Excellent staff, helpful and friendly. The hotel is accessed via cards for the outer door, then the elevator, then your room. It felt very safe. The rooms are simple. We are travelling and use packing cubes but anyone wanting to unpack in a normal way may struggle. We had a triple, a large double downstairs and our son had a single on a mezzanine. Room was very quiet. There was a safe on our mezzanine. The AC was efficient, bathroom excellent. There is a small communal living area with tables, sofas and tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits in the afternoon. There is also a water machine with still or sparkling water with glasses and carafes to fill. Housekeeping excellent.Rooms very clean. Breakfast! Truly one of the best buffets I have seen, just about anything was presented and rapidly refilled before empty. Excellent! To leave , we again asked the hotel to arrange a taxi, I think the best option. Only negative , is that whilst Genoa in general is a place to be very streetwise, there were a couple of very sketchy alleyways to the north and east of the hotel. OK in day time, but best avoided at night. We did use them though at night but avoided afterwards, you get to know the better alleys! Don't let this put you off, the hotel otherwise is in an amazing central position, and I doubt its much different elsewhere."
"Our taxi driver refused to drop us at the suggested square as seems to be a common problem for many places within the historical precinct. However he did take us to Piazza De Ferrari so it was just a downhill run with our cases! Getting back to the station was much easier as the Hotel's driver met us at the reception and assisted with the luggage then took us to the station. The location is fabulous right in the middle of everything, the room was beautiful and quirky in its decoration and bathroom divine - elegant & roomy something we have come to appreciate on our travels. We had a shared common lounge with tea, coffee and water on the 4th floor plus access to a lovely light filled lounge space in the sister property next door in the square. Great breakfast on the terrace of Hotel Palazzo - Grillo next door included and accessed through a glass roof lift. A delightful square at the front with a stunning yet unassuming church - take a look if time permits. Great dinner recommendations from reception."
"This was our second stay in this hotel. We have enjoyed both stays & find the rooms spotlessly clean, elegant & well appointed. The staff are extremely helpful & courteous. On our most recent stay in 2019 we found that the breakfast that is served in Palazzo Grillo, next door to Hotel Le Nuvole, the most delicious of all the breakfasts we sampled on our 4 week trip around northern Italy. The breakfast room is delightful & has magnificent views across Genoa. The hotel is not difficult to find & is perfectly positioned in the centre of the old city. It is an easy walk to all of the interesting sights & there are many restaurants and small bars nearby with a wide range of food choices. Genoa is a fascinating & lively city with many amazing attractions. We will always make it our first port of call when we can next travel to Italy from Australia."
