The Dunstane House is a fantastic retreat with a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff. The breakfast is perfect and Sean was a particular delight sharing his knowledge of spirits in the evening. My wife and I came came to Dunstane House for the first time on our honeymoon several years ago. When the opportunity to come back arose, we jumped at the chance. When revisiting places, sometimes they are not as magical the second time around. That is not the case here. We stayed in the same sweet and were just as impressed. This time we brought family members with us and they were equally enamored. Whenever we find ourselves in Edinburgh we will find our selves at Dunstane House.

Great location, very nice building, with wonderfully appointed common areas (esp liked the library). Friendly and attentive service and tasty food (recommend the afternoon tea). The rooms are well decorated, spacious and bright. BUT there is a lot of noise, primarily from internal sources. So insulation really should be improved. Everything is audible from the hallway and the pipes make a lot of noise when shower/bathroom is used in neighbouring rooms. This is not what I would expect from this level of hotel.

I had chosen this hotel as it was priced somewhat competitively and with its close proximity to the centre, we decided to take a cosy room with a window. Cosy room with a window is an understatement. Thankfully, as expected, we didn't spend too long in the room as we were out exploring what Edinburgh had to offer but the room was super cramped and made for an uncomfortable stay. The bed is pushed against the wall with a window. You cannot open said window if you're using the bed as it comes out onto one half of the bed. Me and my partner found the mattress to be rather uncomfortable, I had a particular gripe with the pillows as even with two, my head sunk to the mattress and provided zero support. 3 pretty poor night's sleeps, was very much looking forward to getting into my own! There is nowhere else to sit in the room other than the bed. There is no tea or coffee facilities. You can put luggage under the bed however there is nowhere to store the contents, so you're constantly in and out of your bags which take up valuable room space anyway. If you weren't close to your partner, you really will be after staying here. The bathroom is nice, shower is really good however any bathroom habits is echoed into the living area with very little privacy, it got funny by the 2nd day and we just embraced it. We driven to Edinburgh so we parked our car about 15 mins away from the hotel, no problem, £30 for 3 days. The hotel is about a 15-20min casual walk to the main attractions which wasn't totally ideal but not a problem really, I just know we could have got closer for cheaper. We didn't try breakfast so can't pass judgement on that as there were plenty of cafes on the lead up to the centre and the centre itself. The hotel itself is really well decorated and modern. I had zero complaints regarding the cleanliness, it was really good! Staff were super attentive and helpful too, we asked for two extra pillows and were provided there and then, no issues. Check in/check out was really quick and straight forward. Wouldn't return due to uncomfortable bed, super cramped room and poor value for money. Still had a great time in Edinburgh though!

Where do I begin, Norton House hosted mine and my partners wedding at the end of April and it was the best day of my life! Right from the start of planning, through to the execution of the day, the staff and venue pulled out all the stops to make it the best day ever for everyone involved! We have had nothing but compliments from all our guests over how amazing the staff were, how smoothly the day ran and the venue itself is a beautiful place to get married! The recommended supplier list that comes with planning a wedding here is top notch! Fully recommend Laura for all your planning needs, making sure everything is perfect and organised right up to the day of! Also Victoria for running our day and making sure everything was perfect, and even calming me down right before I walked down the aisle! The rest of the staff on the night were absolutely amazing and I cannot say enough to thank them all for making it the most special and magical day ever! ＜3

I really like a hotel! Location 10 minutes walk from Haymarket Railway Station, the hotel is surrounded by clean, quiet, opposite the IT company's office building, next to a supermarket, bus station, and a small square for walking. Edinburgh is not big, Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh University, etc. are walking distance, quaint city, like Edinburgh. The hay train station is small and quiet, with a direct tram to the Edinburgh airport at the door, and easy access from Haymarket, which is so crowded and noisy as Edinburgh's Waverley train station. The rooms are not small, like the complimentary Twinings tea, coffee and cocoa, which tastes good. This hotel should be a chain of French Mercure, the guests are basically Europeans, no nationals.

Location, room, environment are very good. Traveling in the peak season, not panic, not rush. The hotel gave us a feeling of being comfortable.

The hotel on the mountainside has a very comfortable view. It is a bit far from the city and has free parking. The food and beverages in the hotel are good and the prices are reasonable. Chocolate chip cookies will be presented during check-in, which is a snack that every Double Tree will give away during the journey in the UK. Because it is a prepaid room, it is very convenient to check-out, just put the room card at the front desk. The room is not big. Although the sparrow is small and has all the internal organs, we have three suitcases that can be spread out, and we can leave an aisle. In a British hotel, the size is acceptable. I feel good, I will choose to change the branded hotel if I have the opportunity in the future.

Comfortable and stylish, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink after check-in, and chat with the bartender about his ”love” T-shirt. On the afternoon when you first arrived, the fatigue of the journey quickly disappeared. There are various entertainment facilities in the lobby, there is a big supermarket next to the hotel, and the bus stop is just opposite the downstairs 🚏, a daily bus ticket to go around the center of Edinburgh at any time, Edinburgh and Moxy together form a good impression of this cozy yet modern Scottish capital .
