We decided to go to Vancouver for Christmas and new year 2023 with my family. the snow had made it extremely difficult to get to Vancouver from Atlanta Ga and to connect in Toronto. WestJet lost my wife's ticket and even though she held the ticket to the plane, they would not let her in. so we got separated. my wife found only one ticket the next day so she insisted that I go so we can be actually together on Christmas. I took all the luggage and my passport and headed on to Vancouver. after 9 hours, including a 3-hour delay on the runway, I arrived at the hotel at 3 am. I can't tell you how miserable I felt. I was sleep deprived, hungry, and emotional as I did not have my family on Christmas Eve and ETC. Nonetheless, I was happy to arrive at the hotel, so I can take a shower and order some food. I went to check in and showed my passport and it was all good until James asked for my credit card. I took my phone out to tap for accidentals since all my cards are on my apple pay. He said I have to have the actual card if I want to sleep there tonight. I told him we have fully paid through Expedia for 9 nights and my wife has the physical cards, but she'll be here in the morning. James said it was hotel policy and I can't even be on the property anymore. i asked to speak to the manager and he yelled at me ”I am the manager”. all of a sudden two security guys show up and I was speechless. these guys did not say a word. although I felt like they felt sorry for me. I could not believe how we got escalated this far. So after 10 minutes of trying to reason with James, he agreed to let me sleep on a two-person couch in the basement lobby. they had good couches in the main lobby. but he said I have to be under his supervision. at 6 am he woke me up and I have to get up as guests were arriving. I told him I was one of his guests and he said we'll see. The next day, the day manager said hello and heard what happened. That was literally it. they all moved on. So to be clear, we had paid in full to a Forbes 5-star hotel, and this hotel treated us like nobodies because i did not carry a physical card at the time. I understand you have policies, but whatever happened to customer service? How much damage can I do? you cant have a 25-year-old guy in a black suit run your customer service department who lacks simple principles of customer service and understands the grey in black and white policies. Honestly, this probably falls back on corporate's lack of training and lack of recruitment of top talent. I really hope that the brand manager reads this review and does something about it.

Regardless of service or location, the top three hotels in the urban area, if arranged for a room with a large balcony, it would be even more perfect.

We encountered a really bad arctic blast and we booked the Hilton on a whim as we felt we couldn't continue up the mountain in the dark. Per the TA norm the photos did not match the actual rooms at all. This hotel is terribly dated and is due for a remodel. The restaurant is mediocre and service not great. Bitterly cold temps outside and the entire main lobby floor was absolutely freezing. All of that said, it was clean & comfortable for what we needed. Got a good night's rest and went on our way the next day. Not worth the hefty price tag though.

The location of the hotel is very core, next to the trump building. The hotel service is very good, with luggage, the front desk is very warm, and also introduced us to Vancouver's play places and food. After communicating with the front desk, I also changed the room with a bathtub. The overall evaluation was very good. The room was very clean. The only thing that is not very good is that the hotel can only be valet parking, 45 knives after tax, others are good.

Hotel location is good, one step away from shopping and restaurants in the city center, less than half an hour to the airport. The room is new and the bathroom is very large. The service attitude is first-class, from the front desk to the cleaning to the concierge are very polite, will stay here next time.

Stayed here one night before heading to the airport early the next morning. The location is great and did the job perfectly being only a 10 minute drive to the airport. There are also plenty of places to get food nearby, I’d highly recommend Thai House. The area around the hotel really feels like you’ve gone to Asia without having gone on a flight. From the outside the hotel looks like nothing special but it so much nicer inside. Parking was a bit of a headache as the additional multi story car park has no lifts but we eventually found a space outside the front entrance in the parking area there. We got upgraded to a one bed suite which was surprisingly nice. Something that may be an issue for others is that the bathroom is more like a hallway between the living area and bedroom which only has two sliding doors to close off. If someone is in the bathroom and you are in either room it’s a bit awkward. The rest of the suite was nice with a comfortable sofa, big tv and decent bed. The hotel was pretty quiet when we checked in and was not bad over night. The only noise was from the main road so I’d bring earplugs. The next morning when we went to check out it was super busy even at 6am as huge groups had just arrived with hundreds of suitcases! If we had been staying more than one night I’d have checked out the pool but we did not have time. All in all it was a good stay and did the job perfectly.

We needed a hotel near the YVR airport due to an early flight out the next morning. We originally chose it because we are Marriott Bonvoy members & it had a shuttle to & from the airport. But the day before we arrived, we were informed the shuttle would not be available. You will definitely need to Uber to or from the airport as it’s not walkable. The Skytrain is an option, but you’ll have a 10 minute walk to the train station from the hotel. Despite all of that, when we arrived, the front desk was very kind & accommodating. They were able to give us an upgrade for our Marriott Bonvoy gold status to a King one bedroom suite on the 11th floor. The room was spacious, beautiful, and immaculate. You walked into a large living area with a pull out sofa, working desk area & large screen TV. There was a privacy sliding door to a large washroom area with a spacious shower. There was another privacy sliding door that led into the King bedroom which included another large screen TV. Very happy with this stay in spite of the shuttle hiccup.

In Vancouver downtown, the bay view room is near the sea, the pier, and there is a network of red sushi restaurants across the street. It is worth a visit.

This hotel is heaven sent. Not just the convenience of the hotel being at the airport (drastically cutting down on more transporting time and money to and from the airport) it is also top notch. The Fairmont is PERFECT place to feel pampered between long delays. Making it very easy to rest and unwind before the next flight.

The hotel was easy to locate at the airport , the staff was friendly and helpful and the room very comfortable. It was easy and convenient.

When I came to this hotel, we had daily breakfast and the hotel provided snacks and red wine once a day. On the first day I entered the hotel, I went to the lobby to eat at 7:00 pm. There was a Hong Kong man named JOE at the front desk of the bar. He could speak Chinese because I do not speak English. Well, I use a translator to translate the menu. The restaurant is dimly lit and the translator is small, so I can't see it clearly, so I asked him what kind of dish it is. , I said I understand, but you can't ask me? My eyes kept staring at me, I said my eyes were a little flowery, he kept laughing and said it had nothing to do with him, so he laughed out loud at the bar, very insulting, mad at me, and then said, what you just ordered is Noodles You Chinese can't eat spaghetti noodles. After talking for a long time, I ordered red wine and he asked me if you can drink red wine? He also questioned my order, I said it was free, he immediately asked another waiter to confirm in front of me if I was eating for free, and after confirming loudly, he said that you can go to eat and then you will have to pay, he said I always discriminated against Chinese people, and I kept saying Chinese Chinese..., but when I turned back to talking to foreigners, my face was full of smiles, so I went out to the duty manager to complain, and the solution was to upgrade me to a room, I asked him to apologize, He didn't apologize, saying that they have human rights here, so I wrote another complaint letter to the general manager. I didn't want much, I just needed an apology. Is this too much? It’s been almost two weeks and I still haven’t received a reply. I was going to stay for 13 days and I checked out early after 3 days. Because of racial discrimination and not being taken seriously, I will continue to go to their headquarters to file a complaint. (Hong Kong has returned, I know some People in Hong Kong can't accept it, I really can't think of such a thing in a five-star hotel), I won't stay at the Sheraton Hotel, the hotel restaurant service is so racially discriminatory
In addition: there is no problem with the work at the front desk and the service of the bellman. The air conditioner in the room is very loud. If the air conditioner is not turned on, the room will be quieter. I forgot a new hair dryer in the drawer, and the hotel didn't call me to say that I had forgotten it. This time in Canada, this hotel was really unhappy, especially unhappy, and I won't come to stay in the future.

The actual check-in feels good in all aspects, especially each room has a balcony, which is very comfortable for me. In addition, the breakfast is delicious

This time at Ctrip.com, this hotel first encountered the problem of Ctrip's promotion of Chinese services and found that there was no Chinese service at all. After communicating with Ctrip, it helped to provide a temporary solution. I did not expect that there was another unpleasant episode during the check-out at the hotel. After the check-in, the front desk did not take the initiative to give me an accommodation bill. To be honest, I did n’t remember to ask, or another guest found that his bill was wrong. It was there that I remembered that I should also take a look at my bill. As a result, there was an error in printing, and I charged 44.47 more for parking. I felt wrong even though my English was not good. They immediately took back the bill and tore it off. They recalculated and printed it out, and then came back. They only returned me 35 yuan and asked why it was not returned in full. Then the front desk tore the bill back again. Then recalculate and print it out correctly. I was very unhappy with their inattentive service. The end result was that they wrote this small note to me, and apologized and explained it. To be honest, I apologize for their apology. I really regret it. I booked this hotel on Ctrip. Ctrip introduced that there is Chinese service. In fact, they did not provide any Chinese service at all. The latter mistake led me to this so-called five-star Wedgewood leisure hotel with ancient European tradition
Wedgewood Hotel feels very bad, this is the only regret in my Canadian trip [naughty]

Overall great experience. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms have history and the lobby has a high class ambiance. The valet guys went above and beyond several times. The rooms, while cozy and comfortable, are a bit dated. Not to say things feel old and decrepit, rather you can tell the room hasn’t been updated in some time. Breakfast room service was excellent. Location is central and easy to get to from local hotspots. In-room toiletries were high quality. Bed very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

It's very convenient to book this hotel in Vancouver. It's next to the University Center. Next to this hotel is Leap Canada attractions. It's really good to stay in this hotel for the second time

The hotel is very attentive to help with luggage and it is very convenient nearby. Next time I have the opportunity to go to Canada, I will stay in this one. The hotel breakfast is very rich in buffet form.
