"Fortunately I can say that my husband and I are veterans of Small Luxury Hotels often choosing them around the world for their ambience and excellence. But rarely have we encountered staff as wonderful and welcoming as Marija at Antiq Palace. Her graciousness and “nothing is too much attitude“ were a fabulous enhancement to our two night Christmas stay at this special property. Equally the waiter at breakfast and housekeeper could not have been friendlier and expert. The personal interaction so enhanced our experience we were genuinely sad to bid farewell. Staying at any hotel at Christmas can be a bit lonely and leave one feeling abandoned. Fear not should you find yourself in this jewel of a European capital. Antiq Palace will be successful at making you feel a most honoured and pampered guest. And for my money request Suite XI. Its beautiful frescoed ceiling makes falling asleep a dreamy interlude and you will waken to a great view of Ljubljana castle. Antiq Palace is charming, perfectly located and has mastered that all important but often elusive personal touch. Thank you, Marija. You have a great future ahead in the hospitality business."
"Our party of nine had to find a hotel quickly when our return flight to UK was cancelled and EasyJet didn’t bother to respond to our requests. This is a great hotel for staying at Ljubljana. It is within the pedestrianised area of the city, just a stone’s throw from the river. The suites are all different and have their own unique character. Our, Suite 7, was a little dated, but lovely nonetheless. Huge, huge rooms with a massive double bath. The bed was very comfortable, however the Slovenians don’t seem to get ‘pillows’ as such. Everywhere we went the pillows never offered much more than air and feathers! Anyway, breakfast was included and consisted of cold meats, cheeses, smocked salmon along with fruit, cereals, boiled eggs, pastries, toast, bread, unlimited coffee and fruit juices. A great way to start the day. Photos of the ‘rich and famous’ who have stayed there on the walls of the dining room. All the staff were *really* helpful and friendly, they literally couldn’t do enough for you. We had umbrellas thrust into our hands as we left to explore the city when there was a little rain outside. Very spacious communal areas and an internal courtyard. Thoroughly enjoyable, if all too brief stay (two nights). Towels changed both days too!"
"Hotel is very close to the centre of Ljubljana. On a side street with only pedestrian access so very quiet both day and night. We had a suite on the third floor for 3 people with 2 double bedrooms. The lift however only goes as far as the second floor. All rooms were nicely decorated and clean. No bar in the hotel but a mini bar in our room which we did not use. Many bars and eating places within a few minutes walk from hotel."
