Top 10 Cosy Restaurant Hotels

My husband, sister and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the lovely Mahesa Bhavan villa. We love to stay at properties such as this, restored old houses turned into special places to stay, efficient, wonderful staff who throughly spoil us with kindness, delicious food and drinks and efficient care. Juckshan, Janaka and Megala and the other staff went way beyond what we expected to ensure that our return to Jaffna went so well. The delicious Jaffna style food, vadais, Jaffna Kool soup, pittu, mouth watering dishes to bring back long buried memories of a young life spent here. Very comfortable beds, dinner with other guests around the table I could list many other special moments. For me, there was no other accommodation option other than Jetwing Jaffna! I stayed there in 2018 and came back for a family visit in 2023. Its location in the middle of the city makes it a no-brainer as the choice of accommodation. The breakfast spread was impressive (I loved the bacon and sausages and the paal appam - out of this world stuff!). Staff were friendly and courteous. The roof top bar and the scenery was something to look foreword to winding down the evenings. If ever I return to Jaffna in the future, there will be no other choice for me to stay , except at Jetwing Jaffna.

This resort is a paradise just out of Jaffna town. The resort is extremely clean, modern rooms and excellent local food. During our stay in Jaffna we stayed at both Valumpuri and Jetwing, however Fox resorts was noticeably better in all facets. The manager Trevine personally catered for all our needs asking each morning what we would like to have for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning - the food possibilities were endless and the head chef went out of his way to attend to our food cravings. Additionally, food was always prepared fresh and as a personal request chef Regi prepared hoppers for us each morning. We also enjoyed service throughout the hotel including in the pool area thanks to Amith who was proactive and extremely attentive in his service. It seems as this resort is the only to care for attention to detail and exceeding service standards, very refreshing for Jaffna. The hotel does not have a liquor licence however was very happy for us to drink our own liquor at the pool or the restaurant which works out to be cheaper any way. They provided excellent mixes and suggestions for our own brought alcohol. We will always be staying in this resort in future. Thanks to Trevine and Amith for looking after us.

We felt like home from the moment we stepped into this beautiful 4 bedroom villa which has been tastefully decorated not disturbing it's old charm. Madhu was an excellent host and made our stay even more comfortable by attending to all our requirements. He was also helpful in giving us tips on the places to visit almost like a personal tour guide! We had the whole place to ourselves and having a pool was a bonus. Most importantly the food was exceptional! We got to try all the famous Jaffna curries and other local dishes. It is ideal for a group of friends or a family for a weekend getaway.

Value for money. Near all facilities. Had minor hiccups in the room but the front office uncle was quick to sort them. Bar and restaurant available. Breakfast was great and love the fresh milk tea in the morning. Best to provide driver stay foc like other av 3 stars for future referrals via them in appreciation
