"Yesterday 9/26/20 Charlotte turned what could have been a horrible first stay experience into a pleasant one. I purchased a room with two queen beds through Priceline. I paid Priceline a $30 resort fee. Upon check in, we were asked to pay an additional resort fee of $18. Without question or discussion we paid the fee. When we arrived in the room there was only one (king) bed. I immediately returned to the front desk and explained that I had booked a double room. Unfortunately Priceline had sent over accommodations for a king room instead of two queens. An unnamed front desk clerk stated that the hotel was full and the only thing the hotel could do, would be to give us a cot. Thankfully for us, we were being assisted by Charlotte. Charlotte took the time to look in the system and upgraded our room to a two bedroom. She went above and beyond to make our first experience at the Marina Inn the best it could be and for that I am grateful. Thank you Charlotte for delivering the perfect experience! Oh yeah, my husband and I have decided to return for 4 night in Oct for our anniversary."
"We have stayed here about 4 times, this was the first time that I received such rude customer service. Booked the same room I always book but upon going to room it had an exterior entrance. Went back in to another clerk (rude one) to change room she said wait I didn't help you the first time, asked the bellman did we do anything to the room like we weren't standing there, we didn't even get to room as soon as I saw it was outside we turned around. Rude clerk mumbling something about I had gotten an upgrade, totally untrue, then told me that all she had was first floor and I said fine. Got to room the waterway view was more of a shrubbery view. Called back down and same clerk said to me "I told you that's all I had" I said okay waited a few minutes and called back for manager. Somehow rude clerk was told I wanted manager and miraculously a room on the 4th floor became available was told it was meant for someone that was checking in the next day but would give it to me! Also, the sheets in the second bedroom were ripped all across the top never seen this before at this hotel, housekeeping had to see this when changing the linens."
"We booked a 3 bedroom suite with two other couples for a little weekend getaway. The suite was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The beds were amazing - I did not want to get out of bed! I am really cautious where I stay right now and this room was spotless so it made me feel very comfortable. The pool area is a little piece of paradise. It was chilly while we were there but we enjoyed the hot tub! We had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant one morning and enjoyed fresh coffee in the lobby cafe. Great location, Ruth's Chris is right next door, The Carolina Opry and Pirate's Voyage are right across the street, boat rentals right outside the back door, and a shuttle to their luxurious beach club if you are staying in season. Can't say enough about our weekend, already planning another one with the kids! (There is an indoor pool to keep my kids busy!)"
