"Stayed 5 nights in the top floor apartment with balcony, overlooking a tree lined boulevard, and in our case, with the sofa bed already set up to accommodate our third person daughter who was currently doing an overseas student placement at nearby Radboud University. Our room was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel, with efficient and friendly room servicing each day if required, and a self catering kitchen sufficient to prepare breakfasts and light meals. The hotel was just perfect for our needs, with a well stocked supermarket around the corner, and a location almost at the main gateway to the old town with numerous restaurants, cafes, shops and sites of interest all within easy walking distance. We were cosy, very comfortable and totally insulated from other guests, and there was very little external noise - we love our quiet and our room certainly provided that. John happily both collected us from, and dropped us of at, Nijmegen Station - and ferried our somewhat heavy luggage up the stairs - a much appreciated service plus. John, Lisa and his team were always friendly but unobtrusive, and quick to provide advice or information when needed. The recommendation to a fine Japanese restaurant a cab ride away made for a memorable 21st birthday celebration with our daughter - thanks John! Would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Oranjestaete again."
"We loved this hotel. John from hotel picked us up at train station. When we arrived he showed us everything in room and how things worked. He was very welcoming as was the young girl on the desk. I think her name was Liselotte. They made us feel right at home. The room was beautiful and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. They had a bottle of wine and peanuts for us as a welcome gift. There is a nice outdoor area to sit. There is a grocery store around the corner. Hotel is not far from center of town. We walked back to train station day we left and it is about a 15 minute walk. If we are ever back in Nijmegen we will definitely stay at hotel Oranjestaete. "
"I went to Nijmegen (from Toronto) to get my daughter set up for a university exchange. I always look for unique hotels, trying to avoid chains or large convention centre facilities. The Hotel Oranjestaete couldn't have been better. Comfortable, spacious, updated, tasteful plus the room (which was actually two rooms -- BR and kitchen/den with fold out couch) made you feel like you were staying local. The building was an old house and it still has a stately charm plus it was around the corner from shopping, groceries, bars and restaurants. Highly recommended."
