Top 10 Damman's Hotels

We had booked an Elbphilharmonie Suite, which turned out to be a gorgeous light room with three ceiling to floor windows overlooking the harbour and the city. It had a huge comfortable bed with perfect (for me) pillows, a desk, lots of chairs and sofas, a fridge, kettle and mugs. The bathroom had another ceiling to floor window and a bath, separate shower and separate wc. There were some really nice touches such as mirrors on the ceiling of the top shelves, so that you could see what was on them, small windows that opened and hooks by the front door (though none in the bathroom!). There were no USBs but plenty of sockets. The A/C was easy to set and worked quite well, but we kept the curtains drawn during the morning when the sun was directly on the room. Turndown offered more interesting ideas such as sunscreen (which was brilliant and useful), foot cream and Mentos as well as a chocolate on the last night. We had breakfast in the hotel on first and last mornings: excellent hot and cold buffet with bacon, fried and scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans, sausages and potatoes as well as loads of pasties and other options. We also used the Blick Bar, which had very good service. We had beers and potato crisps as well as good cocktails and mocktails: it is quite expensive though.

Very classy. Very expensive but worth the expense. The hotel did a great job restoring the building. First, the front desk staff are simply amazing. It was our first international trip since covid, so I was nervous and tired. But, the front desk peeps were welcoming and soothing. Thank you for your effusive welcome. The room is cozy especially the bed. The bathroom is fairly large and very clean and comfortable. The resto has a stunning view of the river. I would have stayed there often except that I was avoiding food as I struggle with my weight. Overall, simply awesome!

As you walk into the very modern colorful converted lobby you are truly taken by it’s beauty. The front desk staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. They helped us right away by telling us we’re to get a free Covid-19 test. Very fun modern room on the top floor, with lots of big windows. Room was spotless, looks like a brand new addition to the building. The amenities in the room were superb, crystal glasses, Molton Brown soaps, full bottles of water, fabulous cappuccino machine, and a fully stocked mini-bar. Breakfast in a restaurant that will take your breath away. Imposing place with a combination of modern with the original historic structure showcasing. Lots of choices to eat and another great friendly staff. Outstanding location, with tons of bars and restaurants in every single direction. Train station is just 2 blocks away. I have traveled extremely and stayed in plenty of hotels, this one is an incredible place to stay in. As for a room facing the back of the hotel, beautiful gardens to look at.

We checked in around 15:30 but there was a long queue (reception area is rather small). We managed to book a late checkout by the reception at 02:00 AM but the Putzdienst was unfortunately not informed. She barged in after knocking and waking us up but was very apologetic. Other than that, the stay was lovely and pleasant. Will definitely come again.

This is simply a great Hotel. It does exactly what you want - Good sized , clean rooms with large, comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. There is access to excellent sports facilities and a very good restaurant , whether its the buffet and eggs chef for Breakfast or a delicious perfectly cooked steak or asparagus ( when in season) for dinner. But its the friendly staff and great customer service starting at the front desk on check in , to the great Bar and restaurant right the way through to House Keeping that make it feel personal I found a lovely letter from Emma of housekeeping , returning a shirt that I had had laundered and had ”secretly booked some extra days”. It was a super personal touch and brought a big smile to my face. Well done The Madison .. many hotels coudl learn a thing or two by staying with you and enjoying your hsopitality .
