Hospitaallaan 16, Veenhuizen, Drenthe, Netherlands
"Unexpected we needed to stay overnight in this province Drenthe, we booked this hotel about two hours before arrival. The environment/neighbourhood looks fine, fields and forests and very quite. The village is a museum with some hospitals and prisons still in function. At arrival the lady in the lobby had her first day work here and couldn't help us but at least she was very friendly. When her colleague came he took over and did the check in. We got a room on the first floor, very spacious, clean and foreseen of tv, wifi, two chairs, a working table and two narrow single beds, one hang cabinet and one shelves cabinet. The bath room was clean and huge, foreseen with a large bath, shower cabin, sink and toilet. A variety of soaps and body shampoo. But we missed coffee and tea amenities. The stairs to the room are very narrow. The breakfast is simple but the quality of the products is very good, fresh and tastefully. But don't expect more than (fresh and tasty) boiled eggs. The neighbourhood is very quite and we slept very well, despite the narrow beds. The water temperature of the shower went up and down but within acceptable limits. To our opinion the validation of the hotel is slightly optimistic but instead we recommend it anyway, it has a certain style."
"August 2019 Not much to say other than we had a lovely clean room... My special diet of no wheat was or cow products was not a problem.(they even had homemade chocolate for me by my coffee) Food very creatively presented as well as delicious. And a super friendly, helpful staff.. For those people who prefer quality Over quantity ! A bit long waiting time between But well worth it.. We will definetly go back.."
"Staying at Bitter en Zoet was extremely pleasant. All rooms are situated in historic buildings part of former prison complex. Ours was the pharmacy. The excellent restaurant downstairs connects all the buildings. Great experience!"

Brinkstraat 85, Assen, Drenthe, Netherlands
"Located in the center of the small city of ASSEN, it is close to the train station, and it is convenient to enter and exit; because it is late, it does not feel the excitement of this city center. The front desk is in the corner of the restaurant downstairs, saying that it is because of the renovation; when the elevator is upstairs, the elevator is a manual file, you must always let go to your floor. The room was short and crowded, but the decoration was a bit special; there was a wall-mounted air conditioner that was always on, blowing out a bit of sour cold wind, I pulled it out; but the floor heating facilities in the bathroom were still warm."

Stadsbroek 17, Assen, Drenthe, Netherlands
"Stayed here for 4 nights from 27/6/19. Great location for track and the centre of Assen. Breakfast buffet is very good and there is lots of choice. Evening buffet good too. Only minor complaint would be that there was no fridge in the room and no bottled water for arrival or tea and coffee facilities in room but this may be the norm in Holland so if it is then fair enough. Would stay here again if in Assen."
"A Large hotel with practically designed rooms offering comfort but not a lot of frills. Within a 20 minute walk into the centre of Assen. Where the hotel scores is in its Leisure facility’s with super pools and gym"
"This is a lovely hotel with lots of things to do in the house. Swimmingpool, fitness, snooker, darts etc. Nice entertainment in the evening with plenty of fingerfood. The rooms are comfortabel and clean. Restaurant is good with plenty of food and drinks. Fun for all the family. Best of all, friendly personnel. Well worth it to book another trip in the near future!"

Beilerstraat 24a, Westerbork, Drenthe, Netherlands
"The hotel fabric was good and the rooms well equipped with plenty of sockets and wardrobe space with LOTS of hangers. The bathroom although small was more than adequate. Dining could be indoor or outdoor depending on the weather and the staff were very helpful both serving and with menu translation. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the opportunity to also eat a HUGEly delicious Chinese meal, (which we just couldn’t finish). For those cycling there is secure cycle storage and a large car park for those on 4 wheels."

Schipborgerweg 8, Zeegse, Drenthe, Netherlands
"We've stayed at wonderful, top-notch Fletcher hotels. Sadly this is not one of them. De Zeegster Duinen is located in a perfectly beautiful area, a nature reserve with sand dunes and fens and small lakes. Great for walking and enjoying the outdoors. The hotel, though, is a 'tired', dark and drab building both from the outside and indoors as well. it needs an entire make-over to come up to the standards of a Fletcher hotel. Check-in was efficient by a very good and pleasant clerk, Debbie. The other frontdeskers during our two-night stay were perfunctory, unfriendly and unhelpful. Our room was spacious and looked out on a nice lawn with the dunes in the distance. But it was all in drab colors. Sparsely furnished with out-dated chairs and couch. Empty mini-bar; only cardboard 'glasses'. Housekeeping was slovenly apparently without vacuuming or even straightening the couch. The hotel doesn't trust its own guests. Bar or restaurant tabs cannot be charged to your room; you have to pay each thing separately. 'People have been known to leave without paying', is the rationale. A hefty tab of 100 Euro is the penalty for not following this rule. The hotel is proud of its so-called 'Live Cooking' in the restaurant. This is nothing more than a buffet with cooks working in the background. There's no a-la-carte dining. Moreover, we found that arriving at about 20.00 much of the buffet was already gone not to be replenished (e.g. herring). Two kinds of meat, two kinds of fish, no fowl; the usual assortment of vegetables (rather overcooked) and potatoes; cheese or sweets for dessert. Breakfast also not a very happy affair. For example: one of us wanted fried eggs easy-over. The cook without a word pointed to a plate with luke-warm results of his cooking; he could just as easily have made fresh eggs on his stove right in front of us. The next morning, there were no ready-made fried eggs, so he got down to business but made a curious mess. The hotel has wifi, but it was not working - either too slow or just defunct - when we were there. Upon asking when it would be working again, we received a blank stare and a shrug of the receptionist's shoulder. As for the swimming pool: looking in on it the chlorine smell was so strong we decided to use our tub instead. Thank goodness life doesn't hang on these ineptitudes, and the pretty surroundings made up for the less than Fletcher-excellence of the hotel."
"It is very nice and dogfriedly hotel! Big rooms, every room has his own balcony, clean! Near the hotel is beautiful nature park for walking dogs, just resting/taking sun and also we found a nice lake there!"
"We were travelling through and stopped for a night. Rented bikes the next day and did a 32 km recomended bicycle trip which was great. We felt that we got great value for our money. Large rooms. Great place if your looking for a nice and quiet place in the country side."

Hoofdstraat 1, Elp, Drenthe, Netherlands
"We were here for 3 nights and would happily have stayed longer, but our trip in the area was unfortunately limited to these 3 nights. The hotel was clean, in a quiet location and still in the heart of the village. The restaurant had something for everyone on the menu, and the food was very good. Very friendly staff, always time for the guests, even when it was a bit hectic at times. We will return soon....."
"The hotel is located in a region with nothing else to do than biking and walking in the nature. It's of course cool but we were hoping to visit some nice places as well. The room is modern and clean but poorly sound-isolated and the bathroom comes out of the 60ies. The hotel is a family hotel, the schedules for meals are therefore very reduced (kitchen closes at 8PM). The food is good but very simple, a bit expensive. The owners are friendly but service for breakfast was not up to the standards (we had to dress our own table one morning because the person in charge was vacuuming and not paying attention)."
"A good 3-Star hotel. Rooms were simple and clean. Beds were comfortable. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Located in a quiet area. The hotel also has a sauna and a bar. A car is needed to get there."

Brink Oostzijde 6, Zuidlaren, Drenthe, Netherlands
"Good hotel for our stay visiting friends over the New Year period. Very welcoming and staff were very good in helping us settle in. The bar was great and staff were extremely polite and welcoming. Would recommend if staying in Zuidlaren area."
"The location is in the centre of the village with a big restauarant. Professional staff and helpful. The room is big enough, clean and there is also water cooker with coffee and tea. Good breakfast, too. Not really got a good sleep because the bed was too soft for me. The big free parking area of the village is just in front of the hotel."
"Room was clean, on the small side. Beds needs to be renewed as it was sagging in middle and on the side. However hotel is in an excellent position, free parking at the back and in walking distance of shops, restaurants etc. Downstairs restaurant was very good and reasonable priced."
