"Stayed at a Kimpton property in Austin, TX last year for my wife's birthday and decided to try them out again this year. Booked thru AMEX FHR program - received upgraded room - Fireplace suite. Another reason for the upgrade was to accommodate our couples massage (standard room didn't have enough room for two massage tables). Suite was gorgeous with NW appropriate decor. Plenty of charging stations. Comfy bed. Nice robes. BR w/ 2 vanities. Living area had pull out sofa. Upon check in - two slices of birthday cake and a bottle of red wine awaited on our table. Only used the free FHR breakfast at in house restaurant once - excellent salmon toast and crab omelette. Slow but friendly service. Great riverfront views. Amenity wise - always enjoy the Kimpton Happy Hour - focus on local beer and wine. Light appetizers as well. In the AM there's a coffee bar with tea and cocoa as well. Weather precluded use of the lobby bikes but perhaps one day in the future. On the map, downtown looks far, but it's a pleasant 10 min walk to most things. Of course, walking/running options galore being on the riverfront. Parking is valet only - call from your room so you won't have to wait as long when you get down to the lobby. Thanks for taking care of us!"
"We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the RiverPlace Hotel. The staff was warm, professional, and efficient. We especially appreciated Sidney at the front desk for her friendly greetings. She even remembered the name of our small dog! Carl with bell service was very helpful too. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet with a fine view of the river. We ate two breakfasts and two suppers in the King Tide restaurant. The food was great; David was our server at supper and Perfidio at breakfast. We will definitely stay here again."
"We are two couples that came to Portland for a short "getaway". It was perfect! It started with a warm and friendly check-in with Sidney -- we were able to get two rooms side by side with a gorgeous river view and the most comfy bed ever. We came back from dinner and enjoyed a lovely hand-crafted cocktail by the fire. The quality, friendliness, and ambiance of RiverPlace just can't be beat."

"Breakfast is not bad, like McDonald's full breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, a quarter of an hour away from the city center. The air conditioner is noisy."

"I led a group of 25 people to Portland for a meeting. I chose the Kimpton Vintage Portland from a list our organization's meetings and conferences bureau provided. It was a great choice. We had a great meeting room. The meals were good and in a nice private room. The staff was always available for any requests. The rooms were great. My partner who spent a lot more time in the room found it very comfortable. There were plenty of outlets for both AC and USB. The three-sided clock was genius-you could see the time display from three sides. The bed was real comfortable and the heating responsive. He rates it the best one we have stayed in. They had free loaner bicycles to explore Portland. They offer a happy hour with wine sampling every evening and some times hors d'oeuvres. They are even just a block from the light rail, making it simple, economical ($2.50 for adults and $1.50 for seniors), and environmentally responsible to get there from the airport. I strongly recommend it for business or leisure trips."
"I love the vibe of this hotel! The location, amenities, and impeccable service were right up my alley! I love visiting Portland, but my stay at this hotel really enhanced the experience. From the wine country feel and unique furnishings to the first class service, this place has it all. I came to the lobby after morning coffee was stowed away for the day (maybe noon - I know, my mistake), and the staff at the front desk went out of their way to snag me a to go cup before an important meeting. Very friendly staff!"
"Had the pleasure of staying at the Vintage Kimpton Portland. The staff was extremely courteous and professional and offered helpful information on the hotel and surrounding area. The accommodations were spacious, CLEAN, quiet and very comfortable. The lobby was very hip and welcoming. Glad to see safe health protocols being followed. Thank you Marjorie, Rachel and Terra for such great customer service and genuine care! The location of the hotel was very convenient to great restaurants."

"Checkin front desk female staff did not feel very warm and the staff at the beginning said that they had paid all the fees and then checked out and said that there are other check-in fees. The explanation is not very clear and people are very confused but thank you very much for the convenience of the staff of the concierge staff. Location decoration is good, health needs to be strengthened"
"The hotel itself is quite good, close to the city centre, and it is convenient to eat and park around. The downside is that there are currently construction sites on both sides. In the morning, the machine is in operation and the noise is too loud."

"This was a very quick trip as I found myself in Portland later than expected and decided to stick around instead of driving back to Seattle. I checked in late and Rachel was very nice during the check in process. In the morning upon check out, Preston was very helpful in storing my bags and letting me know where things were."
"Stayed here after my go-to hotel was sold out. I pulled up out front of the hotel and looked in the big windows and saw what was likely the front desk. There were 4 people standing there. I got my bags out of the car and a schlepped them into the hotel and to the front desk. I asked if this was the hotel and if they had valet service. The valet that was standing there said yes and asked for my keys. No one to help with bags, open the door, welcome me to the hotel...nothing. The beds are hard, the pillows are even harder. The flat sheets they substitute for the fitted sheets aren’t large enough to cover the mattress which leads to a night of the sheets getting wadded up. They say there is filtered water left of the elevator...nothing there. There are signs to the ice maker and there is no ice maker. On the plus side the staff that are in the hotel are nice and the food in the restaurant was good. It’s within walking distance to many things downtown. This could be a great hotel if they would just step up their game just a bit. "
"Worst travel experience of my life - traveling for 30+ years, twice a month. I had a reservation. I am a member of the Marriott Bonvoy program with Platinum status and the hotel manager informed me after a seven hour flight that they were oversold and had no room for me and that he had been working on a solution but could not find any rooms in the area. He spoken on in a soft and pleasant tone but had nothing positive to say and was incapable of his job. On the chance that they do the same to you, do NOT stay here. After two hours, I was shuffled off to a Residence Inn and the polite staff there explained the whole process to me and asked for a voucher so that they could charge the guilty hotel. I had none. When the residence inn called the manager, he didn’t know what the process was or what had to be provided. So now I have been charged $440 for one night at a residence inn when the original hotel was $160 (a supposedly much nicer place) and I have to hope that I am reimbursed Luckily I know my Bonvoy rights or else I would not have received the cash and points due to the displacement. None was offered to me by the offending manager. Do NOT stay here. Any Bonvoy management reading this - retrain or replace your staff. The residence inn woman was 10x better. And if you value your Platinum customers, don’t displace them from a hotel with 100s of rooms when you are oversold by 4."

"We had a weekend of beer touring and family time planned and this hotel ended up being the perfect spot for us. We appreciated the spacious room, comfortable king sized bed, extra seating, and the high-mounted shower head (we are tall). The continental breakfast had local name brand food like Tillamook cheese and yogurt. Their bagels tasted like they were fresh from a local shop. The lobby coffee was a fancy machine and local beans yielding the best tasting hotel coffee outside of Italy. In a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to a few restaurants and a grocery store. Easy access to downtown and the freeway. Free parking and on the light rail/bus line. We would definitely stay here again. "
"Come for one day. Stay for two. I did! The staff was kind, polite, professional. The rooms were clean and neat. I like the idea of a breakfast, but I slept in!! It was a terrific location yet quiet, peaceful and my happy place and retreat. (I did want to sleep in and their cleaners were a tad noisy. But I like that they were happy! And I know few of us sleep til midday.."
"Off the beaten path yet close to the best of what is Portland. The Inn staff were great and very friendly. Good secure parking. Room was clean and inviting. Kinda a throw back to the 70”s... it was great! 1 min walk to the Marrakesh Restaurant, another experience, good. The bed was very Comfortable! Slept in for the first time in a long while. Missed the breakfast, sleeping in, lol. Off to Voodoo donuts! Would definitely stay again, hopefully longer next time."
