Top 10 Dover International Speedway Hotels

My daughter and I stayed here to break up a long road trip. We entered the room and you first notice a beautiful kitchenette. We reserved a one bedroom suite, and the size was adequate. My young daughter went to go use the bathroom and the toilet seat was covered in brown drips and smears of brown “something.” I turn around and see crackers all over the bathroom floor, and short hairs on the back of the toilet. Completely disgusted I tell her to leave the room with me because we were going to ask them to change rooms. When I reported the issues, not one person apologized. Not one. The head of housekeeping swiftly made her way up to the room, and the person working the desk attempted to make the change for our room. The general manager was there, she did not even make eye contact with me- she just went straight to the computer and did whatever she needed to do to override the stay. After waiting about 10 minutes, they weren’t able to have us switched, and housekeeping said they fixed the issue and wanted to know if we just wanted to go back to the room we originally had. I was fine with that, so we head up in the elevator with the housekeeper, and while walking together, I received my first apology. She had me inspect the room before she left, which I appreciated, and beside some leftover crumbs on the floor, it was fine. The room itself was certainly not anything I would expect from a Hilton. But honestly I don’t stay in suites often. The bathroom shower was falling apart and it looked like a college dorm room. The kitchen and vanity was nice, clean. View pictures if you dare….

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Dover but this was by far my best experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Also, the staff was helpful and courteous. If you have breakfast here ask for Ida to serve you. She made us feel like we were visiting a friend. I looked forward to seeing her every morning. When she saw us coming in the morning she would get high chairs ready for our twins before we could even ask. When they threw food (as one year olds do from time to time) she immediately reassured us that she was happy to clean it up. Honestly, she made our trip!

The service at this hotel is amazing!! They are very professional clean and courteous!! Due to the corona virus they couldn’t serve breakfast but they provided stop and go bags for all guest if they wanted one. This will be my go to hotel when i visit Dover DE from here on out!! The food choices are amazing around the area there is so much to choose from you’ll find yourself stuck trying to make up your mind!! Mcdonald’s is in the same parking lot and wendy’s is a short walk
