Kirchbühl 2, Burgdorf, Berne, Switzerland
"We stayed at the Stadthaus for two nights, and had a very nice time. Check-in was quick and friendly, and we found our room to be spacious and clean (we asked for a quiet room and got a corner room on the top floor, perfect). The location in the middle of Burgdorf was perfect, and albeit the central location street traffic noise was never an issue. We were unfortunate, though, to spend one night with a disco event of some sort going on in the Theater Z, at the basement of the building. The booming bass kept us up until 2am. I'd venture, though, that there are not many such events during the year. Breakfast was a standard continental buffet, with everything there which you'd expect, but not more than that. Overall we're quite likely to return, but probably will check the Theater Z agenda beforehand."
"We just had a quick stopover for one night arriving late night and this is one of these times, where you are sorry you couldn´t stay for a few days longer to investigate the hotel and area. You immediately find yourself in this cozy and very friendly historic atmosphere. I am a sucker for hotel keys with a "real" key and a hanger, that has real weight, then you know, this is not a streamline hotel.... well sometimes it can also be trash... but in this case, this is a gem. Giant rooms and a big bathroom with a bath tub with "lion feet". Hand written welcoming letter and a small box of complementary hand made chocolates.... and the mini bar also complementary. Excellent bed! Unfortunately we didn´t have the time to explore the rest of the hotel."
"We had a beautiful room with a view. The reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate. The room price was appropriate for the quality. Meals in the hotel were of fine quality, but a little limited in the range of options (evening meal) and rather expensive, but the service was very good (but probably generally best to book in advance). The bedroom window was above the main road (but at some distance) . This road seems to particularly loved by owners of loudly tuned motorcycles and cars - which for light sleepers - meant that it was obligatory to sleep with the window shut. However, an effective electric fan was provided which made the closed window acceptable."
