"We were looking for a getaway for our first anniversary within driving distance from our home. White Barn Inn provided exactly what we were desired in a romantic adventure - well-appointed, private rooms, luxury amenities, onsite upscale dining and spa services, bikes for leisurely strolls and a fire pit with s'mores kits for the chilly autumn nights. Along with this, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, always checking in as we came and went from the property, and ensuring we had what we needed to make the trip enjoyable. Fall is a quieter time in Kennebunkport, though this has its advantages due to less crowds and more space to enjoy the scenery. White Barn Inn is conveniently located a short 5 minute walk into town, eliminating the need to drive everywhere. We're looking forward to coming back in the warmer months for use of the outdoor pool and time at the nearby beach!"
"The White Barn may have changed hands (on a corporate level) recently, but the attention to detail, especially with the staff, is what sets this place a step (or two) above every other place in my mind. The front desk staff, especially at check in (David) set the right tone for our stay. We have dined and stayed several times over the years both for business and leisure and the professionalism and efficiency of the staff is what sets the White Barn apart. "
"While the entire stay was wonderful, the friendly service was the highlight. There were a lot of small touches throughout our stay that made it special. Our recently renovated Garden Room was small but beautiful. We opted for in room dining and the food was brought quickly and it was delicious. Would definitely return."

"This is a wonderful place to stay in Kennebunkport! The owner, Bill, is an awesome guy. He and his mother made delicious and healthy farm to table breakfasts every morning during our stay. Bill was very welcoming and made us all feel like family. If you are coming with a large group, the Inn would work very well with plenty of rooms and sitting areas. We were there with a group and it was easy to spend time all together and also retreat to our rooms for quiet time. The rooms themselves are super cozy and clean. Bill is also super connected in the area, so he can make great recommendations about where to eat and what to do. I would highly recommend staying at the Harbor Inn if you are in Kennebunkport!"
"The Harbor Inn is a beautiful century home located in a quiet setting minutes from the ocean. Accommodations went beyond my expectations and host Bill makes staying there a wonderful experience. This house can accommodate a large group and has the perfect setup for arranging this. Saying this, the rooms are so cozy, you can retreat to your room and it feels like you have the place to yourself. Bill and his mother made delicious breakfasts to start the day on the right foot. To my delight, the Inn even had bicycles you could use to explore the town and Bill had great recommendations regarding where to go. I highly recommend staying here!"
"Stayed at the Harbor Inn for an event. Great location and terrific Hosts. Bill & his mom made us feel right at home. The food, rooms & central fire place were fantastic. Bill was around all the time to make sure we were good to go. Although this is their business, Bill and his mother created more of a family vibe. Bill is also part of the chamber of commerce so he knew all the spots and restaurants to go to (highly recommend Bandaloop). We will definitely be returning. Also, if your looking for a "cool" adventure, Bill might take you for a winter dip in the ocean!"

"50 years ago we visited Kennbunkport for our honeymoon. At that time, we couldn't afford more than a motel room. We have returned to Kennebunkport several times since and always stay at the Nonantum, including our most recent visit to thankfully celebrate our 50th. The Nonantum never disappoints. It is a stately, well-kept, and friendly resort, which is close to town, with beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and a nostalgic coastal seaside atmosphere. We missed a little this time due to the Covid precautions, but the resort did a great job keeping guests safe with appropriate measures. The breakfasts were a great start to the day, and we never tired of the view from our Portside Waterview room. The staff is the best.....from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, room attendants, and even the head groundskeeper, we were treated most cordially, and accommodated in every way. And there's certainly plenty to see and do along that rugged Maine coastline, in quaint Kennebunkport, and surrounding towns. Thank you Nonantum for another memorable visit............ we will surely look forward to returning again!!"
"Came here for a weekend with my boyfriend, our first getaway since before Covid.. We decided to come here because he came here with his family about 15 years ago and they all loved it. We both have been working on site throughout the pandemic, so when my schedule changed, I called to change the dates of our trip & to add an extra day. The woman was so nice on the phone and guaranteed me that we would have the same exact room with the same view and amenities. She assured me that the only difference would be the size of the bed and that we would still be waterfront. When we checked in, that was not the case. They put us in a family room in a different building than what we booked. They told us they ran out of rooms and agreed to honor a better price (as they should). Our room was ok, no views. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was no maid service and you had to request towels as needed. The people above us were a family, and their kids were running around all throughout the night. When I told the front desk, they told me you're in the family part of the hotel. Well, this is why I didn't book this part of the hotel!!! We e-mailed them and have not received a response. We went in mid-October. They didn't have a shuttle to bring you to town or have anything going on. Breakfast was good- it's nothing like what you see in the pictures though. The restaurant was also good but needed more variety in the menu. Loved the seating arrangements. Beautiful resort but outdated. Would 10/10 return to Kennebunkport but definitely not here."
"For the past 4 years, my wife and I have enjoyed Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude and staying at the Nonantum. This is the 3rd year that we enjoyed the Fire & Ice weekend and we have already booked the weekend in 2020! Can't say enough good things about the property and the staff. Even though the weather this year was not optimal, the Fire & Ice organizers made up for a little rain with a spectacular fireworks display and fabulous band for dancing. The Nonatum has become our annual kick-off to Christmas and we look forward to booking in years to come! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the wonderful Nonantum Staff!"

"We had our usual expectation of what we get at a Hampton Inn. But this one, at only three years old (we were told) was nicely decorated for Halloween and pleasantly designed. From the sliding barn door, vinyl floor planking and oversize glass doored shower was impressive for this price range hotel. Caroline at the front desk was very friendly and great at dinner suggestions. Room and property were quiet. Pool looked inviting but we didn't partake. Bed and room was very comfortable. Room was very clean (including the HVAC filters). We look forward to returning."
"We were very happy staying at this hotel. It is set outside of town near the highway entrances, so it was easy to find and quiet. Our reception from a Holly couldn’t have been nicer. Our room was wonderfully clean and well appointed. The breakfast is well balanced and the staff tending to the restaurant area are friendly. In fact, all of the staff goes out of their way to greet you and are genuine. We were very please and will return."
"The hotel is excellent, loved the indoor heated pool. But what was the best thing about this hotel is the staff. We stayed here during the COVID-19 crisis and the staff helped us immensely. We were able to find a local restaurant to deliver to the hotel, and the meal was incredible. It was from the Boathouse restaurant in Kennebunkport. We will never forget this Inn as being our "port in the storm.""

"Reserved two rooms for daughter's grad school interview so that she would be able to sleep peacefully night before a medical school interview. Arrived late due to a long drive and checked in. Too tired so fell asleep only to wake up to a cold room around 2am. No point asking someone to come fix the heater at that time and couldn't bother my daughter so just put on a jacket and slept in the cold. Told what seemed like the Manager about the problem and they said they would send up maintenance. Few hours later see the same person who said he heard the room had a problem - basically same person was the "maintenance" - whatever as its a family run type place. He ends up saying that the heater is broken and accusedly asks why we didn't call for help in the middle of the night. Maybe it was his culture but sounded like that to me. Unbelievable. Asked if the hotel had a refund policy and he looked incredulously at me and said the manager is out until tomorrow. Again, no idea what's going on with this place. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I've ever had and no empathy for a weary traveler Ina room that was broken on a cold night. Once in China it was cold and they bought electric heaters for guests as in Southern China it doesn't get cold so the hotels don't have heaters. This Holiday Inn was worse than a budget hotel in southern China. It was the dishonesty that was the killer though."
"Great service and fast check in. We drove to get ahead of a snow storm and arrived about 4am. The gentleman at the front desk had our room all ready and checked us in right away. Great breakfast provided the next morning. Well worth the stop.."
"Stayed one night in Biddeford, and had a great stay here! Beds were comfortable! Breakfast was excellent! Soaps and supplies were high-end! Check-in and -out was easy. Place was quiet and clean. All-in-all a nice stay. "

"What a great hotel with the location right at the beginning of Kennebunkport town so you can walk to all the shops and most of the restaurants. A short drive to the beach. The rooms are large with ours having a king bed and lots of space. Because of Covid no room service available or buffet breakfast so bedding was left in corridor for pickup and coffee was available. Coffee shop right across the street. There is plenty of seating around the hotel but the best part is the friendly atmosphere from Sophie who is there for all your needs and some good local restaurant advice. All in all great experience and hope to get back next year"
"This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is in a perfect location in Kennebunkport. 5-10 minute walk to trails at a monastery, hotel is on main street w/a number of restaurants. The bathroom was very large w/a huge shower/jacuzzi room. Very clean. Helpful staff. Kennebunk area was much more interesting/attractive than i had expected. 5 minute drive from beach, from beautiful rocky shore areas & from Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge."
"We were able to get the last room on Valentines weekend and decided to take a trip to Kennebunk Port as have never been there. Staff was pleasant, rooms a bit dated but CLEAN, also came with a Continental breakfast that was typical. The Best part was you were walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, bars etc which was very convienent. Place was much more crowed than expected but gave the area some life and energy. Nice scenic view of harbor, walk the beach, stop and look at former President Bush compound, go Antiqueing. LOTS to do. Would go back in a heartbeat. CHECK it out !!!"

" I was just not going to leave a review but after I was notified I would be charged an extra $50 for “dirty towels”, I figured I should warn you guys. So first the good: spacious, affordable, nice kitchenette. The bad: Literally our door was 15 feet from train tracks, and more importantly, a train crossing, which means there are many train whistles going on through the night. I don’t think this place was very clean. I got multiple red itchy spots on my body throughout my stay there, and it just so happened that it only occurred during my stay there. WiFi was spotty and cut out frequently. Probably would have given it 3-4 stars. HOWEVER, 4 days after our stay the sent a picture of dirty towels to us and said they’d be charging us $50. So, first of all, it was myself, my fiancé, and our 2 year old. We used the shower/towels as a family of 3 would. One of the towels was kind of dirty in the picture, I don’t remember leaving a towel like that but with a 2 year old anything is possible. I have never been charged for a dirty towel, we always pick up after ourselves and leave the room in a reasonable condition. I am sorry the towel is dirty, but isn’t that why you wash and change them? Also, these towels were super cheap and the ONE towel that was dirty would not cost anywhere near $50. I’m just dumbfounded, never heard of anything like that before. Probably worth mentioning that there was a light out and missing a toaster they guaranteed would be part of our room. This place is petty. They give you half a sponge, for instance. Ok, I’ll pay the ridiculous $50 charge for the towels but the 5 rooms (family gathering) that you got for 3 nights? We will never be returning. Get your customer service right."
"By all means choose this motel. Very pleasant staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Very accommodating. Grills on patio and plenty of seating. Directly on the ocean. Can’t wait to go back. Close to pier just a few minutes walking"
"I’m so happy I picked this motel. It’s in the perfect location. Also it’s very clean and the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. There was a slight problem with the tv. It was taken care of very promptly. "

"It’s always hard booking hotels on line & a leap of faith! This hotel was a mixed bag, a little tired & bad soundproofing between room but a great location a friendly staff, good little bar & bistro on the site. "
"WE went there after the crowds, october long week end. Nice big rooms. floors were sticky and sandy on our arrival. The bathroom was not totally clearn without going into details... we went to the front desk. They acted on it the next day, and did an extra wash of floor on our last day at our request. Responsive and good staff all around. Pleasant location and lovely resto on site."
"Beware of the freaks that run this place. They have there own ideas of what makes a good guest!!! The cleaning staff beg for tips they have not earned unless a wet mop with strong chemicals dragged accross the floor counts as "cleaning". Intrusive weekly "mandatory" Inspections? are a joke. Peeping Toms and other sketchy behaviors from unexperienced staff is very concerning. The property is always under construction...with NO results. Not worth the trouble. Keep driving...there ARE better places to stay!!"

"I have stayed in worse but still it was just ok. We arrived to find a paper towel or some type of wipe covered in dirt floating in our toilet. The heating system does not work so the room was cold during our stay. It smelled super musty when we first walked in the room after check in. Not sure why the hotel would “chemically treat” the outdoor pool on a Saturday, basically, the last day that the large group of guests were staying and not “treat” the pool on Sunday when everyone was checking out and NOT using the pool. Also, some Kennebunkport residents came to use the outdoor pool only to find the sign on the fence that the pool was not available. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub, indoor pool and hot tub, covered pavilion, fire pit, exercise room and a limited continental breakfast area which was a nice added bonus which sort of made the crappy room not seem so bad. The mattress in our room was actually comfortable too."
"First, the staff was tremendously helpful and friendly. And I can overlook a lot of things with good service. The pool bar and outside restaurant for dinner was perfect. Casual, relaxing, good food and a very budget friendly price. The overall building needs updates though. While looking for a toy my daughter had dropped under the bed, we found a plethora of items that didn't belong including a moldy cheese ball. The stairwells needed vacuuming as well. The indoor pool, one of the main reasons we booked, was out of service due to a floor replacement (though I don't hold that against them, at least there was a renovation). The room decor could also use some updating, along with new light bulbs. And adding USB ports for charging phones and devices would be excellent. I would stay again, based on how nice the service was and the overall relaxing atmosphere, but it would be lovely to see some updates."
"Up from MA for a few days. The Rhumb Line is not on the beaten path of Kennebunkport traffic and people and that's what I prefer!! The indoor heated pool & whirlpool was wonderful after a long day in the cool crisp air. A+ service by all. Hot coffee & bagel at the continental breakfast and I'm good to go!! 👍🏼"

"We travel very often and decided to stay at a local hotel we had not stayed at before just to try it out. The room was ok nothing fancy and not the cleanest but heard they were having trouble with keeping help, so figured they had been short staffed. This morning we saw why. An employee came in as we were walking by to go to breakfast around 7am and the front desk woman who called herself the director of sales )or something like that when we checked in). proceeded to tell him she had decided she didn’t want him at the front desk but rather he would be doing house keeping. He said to her very calmly no Jenn I was asked by the Owner (sounded like he said Sumana) to cover the front desk for her for the next few days. As four of us stood there listening because the girl started yelling at him tell him she did not care what (Sumana) told him she is the boss and she would not let a “Dirty N!&&er be allowed on the front desk again! (I apologize this is not a word I never ever use but she used it so being as accurate as possible) Horrified at everything she was saying to this man he simply said “I will not work for you you are not my boss” and walked out the door. This woman turned to another employee and remember there are four of us guest now standing here watching all this as Jenn started laughing about how the owner had not paid this man once since January 1st of this year and he has been a full time employee for a year now. We are packing and leaving this god awful place and I am calling corporate to make a formal complaint Hands down the worst experience ever !!!!!"
"Stayed here while having work done on my home. Room was great, on the first floor, very clean, quiet, heat was steady and quiet. I wish they had a few more lights were you walk the dog and a little more variety at breakfast. But breakfast area clean and well stocked. Coffee was good. Staff Kathy was efficient and nice at check in. I would definitely recommend."
"Booked last minute and had a great stay. Wish I could have stayed longer but need to go some place with warmer weather since it is Spring break. Love coming up to Maine every once in a while just to get away."
