"The hotel Casona de los Sapos was a great place to relax and recharge while visiting Puebla. It's in the historic part of town, so it is close to the zocalo, it's in the midst of the beautiful buildings, and within walking distance to a lot of the nicer restaurants and bars. The space is very well designed in a modern, contemporary way, but it stays true to the colonial style buildings -- the rooms are along the outside of the building with a covered courtyard in the center. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable with high quality linens. But the best part of our stay was the interaction with the staff. They were friendly, caring, and went above and beyond. We asked a bit more of them than we usual ask our hotel staff, and they didn't bat an eye. Helpful at every turn. They even found someone to do laundry for us even though it was a national holiday. We ate at both of the restaurants and sampled from the bakery onsite. All were excellent, but the restaurant Maizal is very creative, top quality flavors, and very far from your traditional Mexican restaurant. A special thanks to Don Miguel at the front desk. He's worth more than his weight in gold."
"Wow. This place is stunningly gorgeous and the staff takes great pride in making sure you have an amazing stay. We enjoyed three nights in this luxurious hotel. The rooms exceptionally large and comfortable. The turndown service included chocolate dipped strawberries or fudge like brownies. At arrival they offered us an apple refresher and a hot wash cloth. Miguel, the bellman took extra care of us each day, seeing that our Uber driver understood exactly where we were going, for instance. They have a heated pool, sauna, fitness room and on-site massage service. I enjoyed a fabulous hot stone massage. We will definitely send our friends here as they plan trips to Puebla."
"So I ended up staying at this hotel due to the fact that I wanted to eat at Maizal, that's why, when I was looking for the location of it, I found out it was inside this petite hotel, so I decided to give it a chance an book a room here, I loved how the rooms are so big and silent, but also the location it's great, we mostly walked everywhere here. I think it's great deal if your looking privacy and comfort, a bit pricy but it's worth it. "

"Better a late review than no review. We stayed here in May to attend a wedding. I will start by saying we usually stay in all inclusive at a beach destination so this was very different for us. We made arrangements directly with the hotel for transportation to and from the airport which worked out great. The driver even stopped at a store so I could buy some water and other things. The staff Jaime and Estanislao at the hotel were really friendly and very helpful. We speak very little spanish and they spoke very little English but we managed quite well. They assisted us with any information and directions we needed. Estan even directed us to a store that made great sandwiches which we ate in our room. We at breakfast every morning at the hotel. It was a reasonable price for the amount you received. Juice, fruit, fresh bread several differently types, then the main meal of which we mostly stuck to what we were used to but there was plenty to choose from, and great coffee, As much as you wanted. The hotel court yard, library, bedroom and everything there was exactly as the photos on their site show. We were offered an upgrade for a fee but did not really need any more space. About the only thing I missed is not having a mini fridge in the room. Not a big deal we adjusted to it. As another reviewer said there is a charge for additional coffee for your room but if you go knowing this it is ok. They have a portable air conditioner in the room which when we tried it it made a lot of loud noise so we stuck to the fan in the room. Even the TV had plenty of English channels if that is what you like. We were more interested in seeing the town of Cholula because we were not there for very long. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. It is a great location for visiting the various historical sites. Do not think twice book this place."
"You’d never know looking at it from the outside that the inside is a regal historic building. I like the grounds, the landscape, the breakfast room with its great contemporary paintings (by the way they no longer serve dinner which is a good reason to furnish the room with a mini fridge) and the multi tasking staff. Receptionist doubles as waiter at breakfast. And Christmas tree trimmer in the afternoon. Speaking of breakfast for those of us who do not like to eat eggs every day no matter how they are cooked, there are no other choices. Granola with yogurt anyone? Other juices besides orange? The Rabbit room was spacious for a single occupant with two lovely niches that could be vastly improved by proper lighting. As it is one of them has a writing desk that is unusable because there is only one source of lighting about 30 ft up on the ceiling which cast big shadows on the desk. A table lamp would solve that problem. Another useful decorating tip: switch the mirror to the other niche (where the coffee pot is so that it reflects the natural light from the window as the room is on the dark side). I had trouble using the safe box. The key got stuck every time and had to wrestle to get it open. I could have used a tissue box ( plenty of runny noses in the world in the morning) and what is with the smallest waste basket in the world (aluminum, sharp points and edges)? Lastly the stains on the upper wall do not spell boutique to me. Upkeep is everything. Many thanks to Mr. Pozos and his colleagues. They were all so profesional and courteous that I would consider going back. "
"This hotel, with only 7 rooms and a presidential suite is a gem. In fact, I am reluctant to write about it because it is so special I am hoping it doesn't get overcrowded. From the first few minutes we were in the hotel, we felt a peace descend upon us. Because it is so small there is little or no noise except the birds chirping and water of the fountain in the central patio. Although it is a small boutique hotel it has every amenity-- it has a wonderful restaurant; we tasted many plates and all were good or excellent. It has a spa and a wonderful massuese, Olivia. It has a spectacular library; ask to see it. All prices are moderate and I guarantee you will feel spoiled. After 3 days we returned to our regular routine renewed. It is walking distance from the zócalo and many shops and restaurants (if you decide to leave the hotel at all) and Cholula is one of the most charming cities in all México. Plus it is home to the world's largest pyramid. We are certain to return again and again."

Paseo de San Francisco, Calle 10 Nte. 802, Puebla, Mexico
"I read through a number of the reviews here and the noise issue is mentioned a couple of times, and I was very surprised it was not more. I would like to give you my thoughts on the noise issue, based on a Monday through Saturday stay. The issue is primarily with rooms facing the garden or the convention center, which happens to be most of them. Within 50m of these rooms there is one bar where drinks are 20 pesos, bottles of Vodka 450 pesos or so… and there is loud music blaring til around 11-midnight. Obviously with the pricing, the crew is on the younger side. Without a doubt I was the oldest person there when I visited (great time by the way 😊 ). The next bar is right next to the hotel in the garden. Very nice bar, with nice bar tenders, and very relaxed. During the week, normal music, but drowned out by the bar above. Friday night there was a live band. That felt like the band was in the room. Literally. It was the same volume as you would have your tv on at in your room. Another bar is smaller and no issue. The convention center likely affects the rooms facing it (for example “A” – rooms aren’t numbered, but are given letters.) This is painful when they are playing music, then later taking down the venue. So, beware! The ear plugs on my pillow the first night were a clue, and very thoughtful, but not really the right solution. Whoever said there is soundproofing is insane! The “patio doors” are huge pieces of single pane glass that close with no seal. To the credit of the hotel, the Friday night when the band was playing, I went down and asked for a different room ,and luckily V and W were available that don’t have a view, but are quieter (not quiet, but quieter) so I slept there until I woke up at 4am and went back to my normal room. There are other niggles – a/c that is also extremely loud (imagine wall units from the 80s in a Motel 6, but not wall units), though I guess that drowns out the other noise. Breakfast is supposed to start at 7am.. it doesn’t…. I had meetings to get to, so really worthless. And its only the continental breakfast that is anywhere close to ready. The pool was closed. Was supposed to open mid stay, but it didn’t. (the hotel emailed a week before the stay advising that it was due to open mid-stay and then said on check in that it wouldn’t open on schedule.) Lots of service staff hanging around in the basically empty hotel, but not great service. Toilet flush was fixed last day I was there. (It did work, but you were always concerned it may completely break and things be left behind…) I had to sign on checkout that I didn’t take the chocolate cream covered peanut thing in the room(!) (Main minibar key was never provided, nor offered.) All the above said, the hotel itself is interesting in design. Is in a decent location.. I wouldn’t say a fabulous location, since in order to get to the main downtown areas, you need to cross the main road (with the assistance of traffic lig"
"I stayed here for two nights in February 2020, while on vacation. The hotel itself is gorgeous - the open-air lobby area includes a (very good) restaurant, as well as lounge seating, and the rooftop terrace is large and comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean. The location is convenient for anyone who wants to explore the city centre on foot. Hotel staff are helpful and speak English well (important for travelers like me whose Spanish is lacking). The continental breakfast is delicious and portions are generous. My only small complaint about this hotel is that the design of the bathrooms, with frosted glass doors for the toilet and shower, does not afford much privacy; although it is certainly aesthetically pleasing. However, I would definitely stay here again. "
"This was our first visit to Puebla and we have chosen the perfect place to stay. La Purificadora is a wonderful design Hotel perfect located with attentive and friendly young team. My special thanks goes to hotel manager Étienne who found the right words when we had a little issue. If you love design you will definitely love this hotel. "

"3 night stay was almost perfect in this beautiful restored building in Cholula. The room was very comfortable, extremely spacious, with plenty of hot water and great Wi-Fi. The only negative is the lack of windows that open, meaning that it's very difficult to get fresh air into the room. While one can open the front door to allow air in, it of course cannot be kept open. In addition to not opening, the one window in the room was frosted so that you could not even see outside. This however was a minor negative, taking into consideration all the other benefits of this hotel, including its extremely convenient location, and it's wonderful breakfast. The food we had here was the best we had anywhere in Cholula the three days we visited. The staff is super friendly, and overall the hotel is a fantastic value."
"Lovely hotel right near the main plaza of San Andres Cholula and pyramid. Clean and tasteful rooms with great service. Breakfasts are delicious, but if you're trying to get out early in the morning for exploring, may not be the best choice. Parking is close by, but you will need a hotel staff member to let you in/out, which isn't always convenient. Rooms seem to have good soundproofing. Rooftop area seems nice, but pool/jacuzzi wasn't very warm."
"Let's start with excellent location, easy to walk to pyramid and does to the center. Rave about breakfast. Everyday I tried something else. Reflect on the comfortable rooms and then finish with how gracious and helpful the staff were. I will definitely stay there again."

7 Poniente 105 Centro Historico, Puebla, Mexico
"I suppose it's all been said before, and my included photos are redundant, but it's impossible not to share pictures of Quinta Real Puebla. We stayed in this hotel as part of an organized tour and it is a destination in and of itself. This beautifully-maintained hotel exudes charm and history and is conveniently located in the historic area. Our spacious room was very clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast (perhaps only for tour groups, I'm not sure) had a choice of offerings. A plus is that wash cloths are provided, which is not always a given in foreign hotels. The only very minor minus is that the floor of the very commodious shower is the slipperiest I've ever come across, so use the provided rubber mat. I wish we could have stayed with the Quinta Real Puebla longer."
"A friend and I stayed for 2 nights . Absoluteky wonderful . The place is an ancient convent . It is beatifuly decorated . The service is very good , specially the restaurant . When we checked in they suggested to include breakfast for $160 pesos each per day which we did and it was totally worth it ! The Mole enchiladas are a must . The juices are freshly squezzed (try the green juice) . Any entree is more expensive than the 160$ and our package included pastriea, fruit, juice and coffee! Totally worth it . The location is to die for , two blocks from everything . Just be careful and ask for an inside room , it is a little more pricey but worth the difference The ones facing the street are too noisy . This is a Camino Real chain hotel so quality is guaranteed"
"This hotel has everything to make it a great value. It is a beautiful old restored convent only a few steps from the zocalo, the heart of Puebla. The staff were some of the friendliest and most efficient that I have encountered. The rooms are somewhat rustic, yet well-appointed and quite comfortable, and the rambling facility itself is something to see and explore. Valet parking is available and the charge is minimal. The neighborhood is safe for walking at night and there are many restaurants, cafes, museums, and other things to do within a short walk. All the members of my party were amazed to get all this for such a surprisingly reasonable price. We can't wait to return (but do repair the elevator)."

4 Norte 2, Colonia Centro, Puebla, Mexico
"This is a little gem of a hotel in the centre of Pueblo, close to many places of interest. The rooms are gorgeous, and we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms - the suites must be magnificent. There are extremely high ceilings, very comfortable beds and the design is very attractive and original. We loved it here and were sorry we were only staying one night. Loved the coffee and tea bar with Nespresso machine, which meant you could get good quality coffee at any time. The staff are extremely helpful, and they gave the impression that were genuinely pleased to be able to welcome you to the hotel. It was lovely to be offered a free cocktail on arrival. Being the quiet season, there weren't too many other guests staying there, but that added to the tranquility. Breakfasts vary I think from day to day. We have breakfast on a Sunday, when they seem to lay out lunch from an early hour. However, if there is anything you particularly want, they will go out of their way to get it for you. We would love to come back here!"
"Just spent two nights there and will stay there again next time we're there. Beautiful building just a block from the town plaza. Easy walking to numerous interesting sites in the historic downtown area. Room (Akbar) was quiet and well done. One big plus...we've stayed in many older buildings converted to hotels and these people did a great job. Unlike many properties, they had enough electrical outlets for all the modern gadgets we can't seem to live without."
"Very well converted historic house hotel in an excellent location right in the centre of Puebla. Lovely large beds rooms and bathrooms. Good facilities; central courtyard Mexican restaurant, interior Italian restaurant (although you can have either menu in either space), small bar and a interior balcony lounge area with teas/coffee. All the staff were very friendly and helpful."

"I really like this hotel, especially now all the hotels are renovated. I normally stay in the executive wing due to my status. However this time the executive wing was closed and I was very happy with the other rooms in the main hotel. Looked they were all renovated and they were nice and clean. In fact cleaner than in many US hotels. I do need to add that I have never stayed in the new tower but some of my team members did and nobody had any complains The breakfast is just great. Lots of options between local, or more US based, and an amazing omelet station with lots of warm add-ons Service is like most places in Puebla outstanding"
"As a Marriott, the hotel is dated and probably needs an upgrade if you are very critical of the hardware. However, given AAA price is about 80 USD, I think this is much better hotel than FI or CY in the States. Slightly far away from the downtown but very cheap Uber ride (like 3-4 USD) The lounge does not have many food or drink options but the staff in the lounge are the kindest people I ever met as a Marriott lifetime platinum. They took our individual names on paper when we checked in for breakfast and write them on the side of fried eggs we ordered. We had a nice conversation with the staff in the lounge about the history of Puebla."
"Really big room. The breakfast was wonderful. You can have anything you want for breakfast. The “dietetica” omelet was the best omelet ever! Apart from that, plenty of other choices. The restaurant in the evening also provided a top personal service with nice choices. I also looked the warm swimming pool, which was damping when it’s cold outside."
