Avenida Playa Gaviotas # 202, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico
"I loved staying at Hotel Playa Mazatlan for 6 days. The room was well appointed, quiet and had a good ocean view. There were amazing sunsets! The location was central. I felt very safe as a solo traveler. The hotel had numerous pools, and a lovely infinity hot tub. There were 4 main restaurants, a good buffet, a Mexican, a Brazilian and an Italian one. The staff were all helpful, friendly, willing to help, offer suggestions of what to see on my own or on tours. One concierge, Shane Bacon, went out of his way to explain a lot about the region and explained how to find all kinds of transport, by bus, taxi, on foot, and in pulmonias, which are quite fun and look like a large open air golf cart. He suggested seeing the open air market, the cathedral, the historic district, with its brightly colored restored buildings. Great shrimp at a restaurant there. He recommended walking up a hill to a lighthouse with great views. He arranged a fine whale watching tour, where we saw 4 humpbacks, including a baby, gradually head north. We saw islands with sea lions, and more with boobies, frigate birds. The next day, with the same guide,Cesar, 3 of us kayaked about a mile and a half, to Deer Island, where we hiked up a hill, with beautiful cacti and flowers then snorkeled, before kayaking back. I give this hotel very high rating, and would love to return!"
"We traveled with a group of 3 couples. When you check in they take your temperature and sanitize your suitcases and backpacks very clean. Check in was a breeze, the hotel rooms were beautiful, AC worked really good and they were very clean. Hotel Manager Shane Bacon answered all our questions and was able to book travel to and from the hotel. He gave us some really good advise on where to shop and where to go sight seeing. He was very professional and helped us tremendously throughout our 1 week stay. Hotel is literally in the middle of everything we can walk or take a "Pulmonias" (golf cart taxi) anywhere we wanted it was a great location. Hotel pools and hotel grounds were immaculate, plenty of space to roam around and very beautiful. A must do was the "Cenote' cave pool and the Jacuzzi above the bar pool great view. We did the all inclusive and all the restaurants and buffets were very good and clean. My favorite restaurant was Georgina's. Best shrimp Fettuccine hands down. All in all it was a great vacation we felt really safe and secure. I will definitely be back ."
"Hotel Playa is one of the most well-capacitated hotels in Mazatlan. It’s not just a room to stay in, but a place to make memories in. They have great pools and spectacular shows you can enjoy. I love the diversity of activities offered here and the kindness of all staff. They do dancing, food, shows, kids activities, all sorts of things! I 100% recommend everything but I really loved the shows!! While I read some of these reviews complaining about noise, it’s part of the experience! Mazatlan is a very happy place, think of it as Las Vegas of Mexico. It never sleeps! If you want a place to relax then go camping and enjoy nature, but Mazatlan is just overall amazing and you can have the best of both worlds: relax and party. It’s great for couples, or singles wanting to party, or families, or older pals wanting to relax, it’s got it all! I’ll definitely be back, can’t wait for the summer!!"

Bugambilias 100 Zona Dorarada, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico
"We stayed at the hotel for a week, our 3rd floor room was very adequate, we had a balcony facing the pool. The 7 night stay was just over $600 CDN which was an excellent price. Public transit is only one block away and there are many good restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We found a laundry service just a 3 minute walk away which was very convenient, and only 80 pesos for a load of laundry (wash and fold service). A barber shop (Mr. Barber) is only a two minute walk away and an unbelievable low price which included a shampoo and shoulder message. The hotel is in a quiet location, there is a roof top pool on the 2nd floor above the lobby as well as the larger main pool and hot tub. There is a small bar on site, and an ice machine near the pool. Staff was very helpful even though English isn’t one of their strong points. There are no English channels on their TV service, but most bars and restaurants nearby have many TV programs where you can go out and enjoy sports in the evenings. I will certainly stay at this Quality Inn on my next visit to Mazatlan."
"I'm beginning to think of the Quality Inn in Mazatlan as my home away from home! The staff is welcoming and helpful, the breakfast buffet is included, my room is clean and comfortable. Wifi is included and dependable. I am staying in the Quality Inn as I type this! Yesterday, they brought me a plate with chocolate covered strawberries and a custard and fruit tart on a plate with Bienvenido written in chocolate. Lovely! Because I am in the middle of major reconstructive dentistry following an accident, my diet is limited. They brought a small fridge to my room so I can store yogurt, etc. This is my 4th stay here in 6 months. I was here for 3 weeks last time and will be here for 2 weeks this time. I plan on coming back in early May for another 2 weeks. It's a nice quiet hotel in the Golden Zone, walking distance to restaurants and shopping. There are 2 pools and a fitness room. What more does one need? I love it here! Thank you, Quality Inn!"
"This quality inn was beautiful! A great experience and the view is spectacular. We like to stay at choice properties so this was definitely a good choice. Lots to do in the area and we had a great time! Will be back."

Avenida Camaron Sabalo Sin Numero, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico
"We were picked up by the resorts airport shuttle as reqested! After a 30 minute ride we arrived at the resort. The huge lobby was uninviting! The staff at check in were courteous and pleasant. Our one bedrrom suite on the 21 floor was huge, with a view of Mazatlan and the lengthy beach! Suite was not decorated with paintings etc.. Mini kirchen with a large fridge and all the ameniteis of home, table and 4 chairs in eating area Two private full bathrooms (one with a huge walk-in shower ) The hide-a-bed was atrocious, could see the spings in the mattress! After advising the staff that it was going to used as a bed for the two weeks we were there, they placed a Queen size "pillow top" bed mattress on it and we left it pulled out during our stay. It had a regular balconey with 3 "lawn" chairs. Room servce attended daily. We did not take the all in-clusive plan because there are many good eating establishments in the immediate area! The food in the resorts restaurants was mediocure . Ample shoppping close by"
"The resort has excellent measures in place regarding COVID-19. All main entrances have employees taking temperatures and providing sanitizing gel. Masks are worn by all employees and required by guests throughout the resort with the exception of outside at the pools or while dining at your table. Professional, friendly employees throughout the property. Small super market on the ground level. Variety of stores for souvenirs, pool toys, etc. Michael Gallery within walking distance for quality silver and gold jewelry (see Cristina Ponce), as well as great decor and hand blown Mexican glassware."
"Our week at the El Cid Moro was as wonderful as ever and, even in the midst of the coronavirus, we felt safe in spending a week at the resort in Mazatlan. The only difference with this visit was that we stayed pretty "close to home" i.e., the resort and did not venture out into the city. The resort was a real oasis in the midst of the pandemic. "

"What an amazing place to stay! I booked this resort the day before I left so although I did not get room 1028 again at checkout, the manager managed to get it for me the next day. The best part of this hotel is the people who work here(missed Leo so much) and the guests who stay here. We met many new friends who I am sure we will meet up with in the near future or hopefully travel with. A big thankyou to Sunwing on getting us home safely. The only negative was our visit to the Italian restaurant. Our waiter admitted he forgot we were there so we had a long wait. Also he said the menu had just changed so we were disappointed in what we ordered. Thank goodness for the cheesecake. Wish you could go there just for that! Argentine was amazing. Glad that menu wasn't messed with. Beach restaurant was really good. Ribs we had one lunch time were amazing! Snack menu at Granada was excellent too, as was breakfast. Ocean was too rough and cold to swim in so we stuck with the heated pools. Thank you to El Cid staff for a wonderful week. Hope to see you when this crisis is over. Stay safe!"
"I have been coming to the El Cid course for 8 years now. The lady working in the clubhouse has always been very nice, friendly and courteous. The caddie master remembered us and welcomed us warmly are tee times were arranged online without issue. Our caddies were Aureleo & Miguel as always they were great to be with very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. The starter was nice and arranged the 9s the way we wished and the pace of play was very good 4 hours. It is unfortunate that the course itself was in not that great of condition. The speed of the greens was very inconsistent on the Marina and the Casita courses and although the speed of the greens was consistent on the El Moro course the speed of those greens was considerably slower than the other 2 courses. All the courses had patchy fairways. We had planned on playing 4 games at El Cid and two other courses (Estrella Del Mar and Marina Mazatlán) that were not at the El Cid. After playing those courses we choose not to return to the El Cid for the last 2 games. Not only were they in excellent condition they were about 300 pesos less per person. The reason I gave an average rating is because all the staff were excellent but the course was overpriced for the condition it was in (poor value) I am sorry I could not rate it higher for the sake of the excellent staff."
"What a wonder holiday, great company, good food and wonderful service! All we could ever ask for and more! I would like to thank everyone in reception, restaurants and bars for their courteous and friendly service. Special thanks to Roberto B, Ruben and Ana at the Granada pool/bar, Big Ruben at the Pergola and the lovely Laticia in the lobby bar! "

Jose Maria Ibarren 2,Balcones de Loma Linda, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico
"I can't remember exactly how we found this little place, but I am so glad we did. If you think the pictures online are too good to be true, prepare to be proven wrong. This property is absolutely stunning inside and out and no detail has been overlooked. The common spaces, the rooms, the balconies and the pool area are all part of a mid-century modern dream. The south-western flair reminds you that you're on vacation in warmer weather, a fact you won't soon forget as the staff pampers and caters to you without hesitation. The experience at Casa Lulu was truly luxurious and one of the best we've had in Mexico. The included breakfast was fresh and delicious each day and made for us at what ever time we decided to start our morning. Our mini bar was always stocked and a complimentary pitcher of water was always left in the room. Anything we needed was only a request away; from a poolside beer to a taxi ride or restaurant recommendation. The staff was so lovely and every inch of the property was clean and pristine. The linens - towels and sheets- were super soft and fluffy and a dream to relax in at the end of the day. The hotel is perfectly located - you can walk along the Malecon any time of day and are only a 10 minute stroll from the Centro Historico where many of Mazatlan's best restaurants can be found. You'll have a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean from many vantage points at Casa Lulu, and I would suggest enjoying the unforgettable sunsets from the balcony with a cold drink in hand. You may want to note that the hotel is accessed from the large wooden door located in the back drive. A security lock is in place, but we were let in after a call to the front desk. If you're travelling from the US or Canada, I'd recommend a phone plan for your trip as this came in handy to connect with the staff via What's App and to navigate around Mazatlan via Uber & Google Maps. I will mention that we travelled during the Revolution Day long weekend and the Malecon was very busy and at times, definitely exuded a loud, party atmosphere. Casa Lulu faces the street and we did find that we could hear the noise of those celebrating well into the early hours on the weekend. I imagine that this is just because of the holiday, as during the week, we found the evenings to be fairly quiet. **A note about Mazatlan if your country's travel warnings seem a little alarmist - we have travelled up and down the Pacific Coast of Mexico and found Mazatlan to feel like one of the safest cities. The Malecon & the Centro Historico are recently restored with many areas looking brand new. There are plenty of modern conveniences to be found as well as gourmet cafés and restaurants. Our Uber drivers were courteous and friendly as were the local people we met. Many snow birds are flocking to Mazatlan as an up and coming destination. Be sure to get here and enjoy the "Pearl of the Pacific" before word gets out! And while you're at it, make Casa Lulu your home away from home while in M"
"I recently traveled to Mazatlan to visit my grandmother. I have not been to Mazatlan in 11 years prior to this trip. I found Casa Lulu through Expedia and simply by looking at the pictures, knew it was going to be great. Also I found it to be extremely affordable. Hotel staff was super attentive the entire time. The room and common areas had a really cool/modern design. The views were gorgeous, and the pool area was awesome. The entire hotel had recently been remodeled and they did a great job. I 100% recommend staying here when visiting Mazatlan."
"As a recommendation from a well traveled friend we were led up to this Beautiful Boutique Hotel. Upon arrival we were shown to our room by staff at the hotel. It was to our amazement the view and the modern touch to such an amazing hotel. This boutique hotel really has a relaxing and calming feel all around. This stay was a better alternative to other major resorts that we have used in the past while in Mazatlan. The cozy feel and relaxing environment was totally well worth it. We will definitely come back and visit again soon."

"A wonderful boutique hotel with the best staff made this stay our best ever in all of Mexico! The location is central/old Mazatlan, not the tourist zone. And it's not a "resort" hotel, though you can shuttle to their resort hotel about 5 miles to the north. It's an easy walk to the Zocalo and all of the old town to restaurants, stores and galleries. The staff are simply the best. They always had a warm greeting, offered helpful advice, and made us feel so welcome. For my wife's birthday, they surprised her with cake and champagne in the 3rd floor infinity pool. And another night the hotel invited and comped us at an amazing Chef's Dinner, prepared by a Michelin starred chef and paired with wines from Baja California. Decadent might begin to describe it. The restaurant itself is elegant and comfortable, a real part of the community, with outdoor seating overlooking the Malecon and the bay. Breakfast was over the top, as was another dinner. And one night when we were too tired to go out, room service was impeccable. Our room was huge, always spotless, and had a huge balcony to watch sunsets, share a meal or a drink, or to just watch the parade of people taking pictures with the motorcyle statue below. And the common areas include the restaurant, bar, courtyard and a very good lending library - all part of a totally relaxing stay. For a warm, personable, authentic experience in Mazatlan you can't beat Casa Lucila!"
"Casa Lucila is a very nice hotel in a great location. The service is really good and the downstairs restaurant is excellent! The room was comfortable with great beds and even better a/c. Very large bathroom with lots of storage. We did experience one BIG problem. The room is situated so that one of the doors lead directly to the pool area. When we arrived the entire pool area was closed and set up for an event. The event lasted about four hours and was LOUD. We booked this hotel mostly for the use of the pool and couldn't use if for one day. The front desk (not sure if it was managers or others) didn't seem to really care and barely apologized. I do think that we would definitely stay there again but I wish we would have been notified that this large event was happening. Without this event, I would have given the hotel the top rating."
"I'm reclining on my bed looking out to the ocean, breeze blowing in and the sound of waves on the rocks below. Last night, my wife and I had a glass of wine on the balcony, watching the cars parade along the Malecon in front of Old Town. And the night before, we wandered the picturesque, colorful streets, lit by up-lights spaced every few feet. This is a charming hotel in a beautiful place, very convenient to all the places you want to go in Old Town. High ceilings, beautiful finishes and great amenities. I also agree that the staff is incredibly friendly and professional: el mejor. We'll definitely be back."
