1. The environment is nothing to say. One of the best luxury hotels in California. The facilities in the room are very good, especially the service! This is rare in the beautiful country. But the smell of money is everywhere. The house price is so high, and it costs 75 knives to park. Distressed! 2. The children's pool is great! Constant temperature, water depth can also be. It's not the kind of paddling pool that babies play in. 3. The scenery of the beach is slightly poor, especially the moldy sun umbrellas, I really can't help complaining. 4. When I checked in, I was given an ice cream coupon, but it turned out that it could only be redeemed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, so I missed it perfectly. As a result, my son was hurt! 5. The question of tipping is confusing. The first bell boy told us to tip, the second bell boy told us not to tip at all. So, we didn't know whether to pay or not when we checked out.

We were really looking forward to experiencing a 4 night stay here and were sure it would be the highlight of our 3 week trip across the States to celebrate our anniversary . However we were left a little disappointed with a few aspects during our stay. We arrived a little earlier than guaranteed check in time and enjoyed relaxing in the bar and on the chairs overlooking Santa Barbara. However, we were not contacted after check in time and had to ask twice and so check in was later than expected. Our room was stunning though and worth the wait. Highlights were definitely the view, setting above Santa Barbara, the relaxed atmosphere and terrace for meals. However, it was mainly service that was disappointing for such a high end hotel. Breakfast was erratic. Day one was spot on, day two we had to ask for missing items, day three took over an hour and on our final morning it was twenty minutes before we managed to even get a drink let alone someone to take an order. The pool area is stunning visually, however, don’t take a bed near the pool room unless you want all the staff gossip, though it was entertaining! Plus it took over half an hour for a glass of fizz to arrive and when it did, it was luke warm - just not what you’d expect. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on our first night but the menu didn’t offer enough choice for us to dine there again. We didn’t manage to book the shuttle but ubers were easy to come by. I think perhaps if we’d have stayed one night, we’d have been more ‘wowwed’ and the cracks wouldn’t have been so apparent. For a leading hotel of the world a little polish and elbow grease is needed to be truly worthy of the title.

El Encanto is located what is called the “American Riviera” in the hills overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. Not only is it charming but from the moment you arrive you are greeted by a welcoming, helpful hospitality team. Upon check in we were given a lovely upgrade to a spacious bungalow, stocked with a welcome basket of snacks, nicely stocked refrig and little sweets. In addition, a freshly baked and delicious Happy Birthday cupcake. Everyone we ran into from the valet, frontdesk(especially Shira), to the restaurant, pool, maintenance and housecleaning staff were gracious and friendly. By far the most outstanding team. We enjoyed daily breakfast on the terrace with a gorgeous view. I highly recommend El Encanto. I will not disappoint.

The hotel is expensive, but the room is not big, there is no bathtub and no view of the sea. Most of the money is paid in this location and exquisite decoration. Hotel parking is also expensive, and there is no free service, so the 7, 8, 8 nights of hotels are really not cost-effective. Of course, it is also a bit historical and design. It is indeed a lot of rich people to live, but if you want to really enjoy the feeling of rich people, it is best to book a room for more than one night, otherwise you will regret the money throwing in the water like me. Don't say that I didn't see the world in poor and sour, I moved out and lived in downtown Santa Barbara, LA and other places, no comparison and no harm. I can say that I don’t think I have too much money to live. After all, it is still a luxury hotel. It will not be uncomfortable. I can’t buy it with a little money. Don’t be as fascinated by Xiaohongshu as I am.

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the core beach pier, the open-air swimming pool on the rooftop is back to the sea, the sunrise in the morning, and the evening in the evening. Hotel facilities are very new, service staff, handsome men and women, high value, service quality is acceptable, that is, Ctrip's room type is too chaotic, and the hotel front desk type is not right, booked two twin rooms, on-site paid upgraded room type, the result is still Two twin rooms, after the negotiation, the store explained that the original room type does not have a balcony, which is inexplicable!

PROS: 1. nice grounds 2. pool staff was friendly 3. nice location 4. free use of pedal assist bicycles 5. nice views of the ocean from the trail on the south end of the property CONS: 1. no bellboy to help us unload our bags from uber upon arrival - the most important way to make a good first impression (or a bad one). 2. trash cans overflowing with empty water bottles in lobby upon arrival 3. first room given to us was dark. we had to change rooms. new room was not ready until 4pm so we had to kill 2 hours upon arrival. 4. $30 Uber into Santa Barbara each way. 5. Young male Bartender at Angel Oak handed us the drinks menu at the bar and then forgot about us. He never came back to take our order. We just got up and left after 20 mins. It wasn't even that busy. 6. From the spa pool you can see the club lounge. But you cannot go in there! It is not enough to pay $900/night for a room at the Ritz. You must have one of the more expensive rooms I think to gain access. So you feel like a loser swimming around there, but not being able to pop up there for a drink or appetizer. 7. The Ritz only took over this property in 2017 so they are stuck with the layout and inconsistent rooms quality / layouts. 8. No mention of our anniversary celebration from the front desk staff despite me mentioning it in the notes of my reservation. 9. They allow dogs to walk into the bar area. The bar does not offer port or dessert wines. Also, the Guinness beer on the menu is from a bottle, not a keg pour. Give it a miss. 10. $50 for a pitcher of beer poolside. Everything 20% more expensive than it should be, but, hey, it's a Ritz I guess. Don't think I'll be back.

Very very perfect resort. Originally thought it was an old hotel, but you will find that everything is perfect. The maintenance is very good, and the workers who are repairing will not be disgusted. The efficiency of delivering food and baggage is lower than domestic. But every service staff is very nice, and the brothers are particularly handsome. Don't hesitate to tip. 😁 Unfortunately, there was an accident in Angle Oak's kitchen, so it was not accepted, but food could still be delivered. Burger, pasta, salad. delicious. Bistro's meal is also handsome! It's delicious, no matter breakfast or dinner, it's worth a try. I like their meals. And, the perfect service is worth more than 25% tip. The beach is not very convenient, so only play in the pool. The temperature is high and very comfortable. Will come again if I have a chance.

The breakfast was very rich, the service was very good, very stylish, the room had more than sixty square feet, there was a dining table, living room, fireplace, jacuzzi, kingsize bed, the boss was very good, there was free parking, we arrived It was late, almost eight o'clock, she prepared tea and red wine for us. The hotel is basically a big garden. It can be seen that the boss has spent many years sorting out the arrangement. Get up during the day, walk in the garden, sunbathe on the sun loungers on the lawn, read the book, very comfortable. Take the No. 1 road and stay here for one or two nights before going to LA.

There is a parking lot, some rooms are larger and suitable for children. The room is very comfortable and very romantic. It is very fun to have a stove for 2 nights. The small courtyard is very beautiful. My parents like to sit in it and have tea. The afternoon tea is also very good. Chinese boss, so the Chinese go there, the breakfast is only cereal, bread, eggs, no meat, monotonous to me as a carnivorous animal. Overall very good.

When the only thing my very picky husband can find to complain about is a missing second soap bar in the bathroom, you know you have a winner! We had stayed at this property many years ago and love the way the current owners have redone the interiors. Both our bedroom and bathroom were lovely and excellent sized. We had a large covered balcony overlooking the park and the ocean. Yes, there is noise from both Millais and Cabrillo streets, but the room was virtually soundproof with the sliding doors closed. The pool was clean and uncrowned and the ocean was right across the street. Staff was excellent!

The Santa Barbara Inn is an ideal destination for a “got to get out of my house, my town, my head” kind of journey. A self- sufficient oasis with a a serious, under-Michelin- starred restaurant in the lobby, it’s staff couldn’t make it easier for you to check in and check out. (I found Gwen, the assistant manager, particularly knowledgeable and helpful.) A weekend there is as close to Go mid-week as a treat to yourself

The front desk is very strict. You must have a visa card to stay. At the restaurant at the door, I bought breakfast with breakfast. It used to mean breakfast deducted with $50. You can order it yourself. The restaurant is delicious The highlight is the pool, you will love the experience here....a large piece at hand. The pool is warm water. The room is classic old money style Health: OK Facilities: Classic Environment: City Centre Service: Soso

The resort was beautiful, the room was comfortable and clean. We brought our golden retriever and it was a very pleasant stay for him as well. The location is close enough to the shops and restaurants of State St. but far enough away to be peaceful and not too crowded. My only complaint is the food. We ate at all of the different restaurants and each time we were so disappointed by the quality of the food and the prices were astronomical. I don't mind paying a lot for good food, but this food was worse than what I make at home and I am not a good cook! My daughter ordered the lobster roll at The Set and it was terrible. $30 down the drain. We had breakfast at The Roundhouse and the avocado toast was beyond bland. Then we tried lunch at the Terraza del Mar - I got a chicken Cesar salad and my daughter got a poke bowl. The salad was cole slaw mix and chicken, that was it. Her poke bowl didn't have the rice that it was supposed to have and was horrible, she couldn't have more than a couple bites. I would stay at the resort again, but would never eat at any of their restaurants again. Better to Doordash or eat off property.

Disappointed with my stay at this dated, sprawling convention-sized property. After self-parking and schlepping to the lobby for check-in, I had to walk all the back back and drive to my appointed building and room. None of the buildings are interconnected except externally. Although my guest room itself was clean and appointed with a king bed, sofa, work area, and balcony (facing onto the parking lot and noisy Amtrak tracks, not the ocean), the whole place looked tired, dingy, and in sad need to a multi-million dollar facelift/upgrade. Sort of a cheesy ‘60s motel vibe. Surely there are better options at this price, even in tony Santa Barbara.

Maybe we made the mistake of a holiday weekend, but for $500 per night we expected better from this inn. Pros - quality linens, good shower, bed comfortable, nice bath products. Cons - breakfast sub par, coffee not good, wait staff rude, decor of room outdated/strange, empty fridge, a/c directly on bed, no desk clerk until 8am, one tv in room did not work. We did not have any sense of the charm of this hotel. The room was called the Santa Catalina Casita - it had a bizarre Roman statue theme and was not a standalone casita. I would say it was an average sized hotel room.
- Guest User
In addition to the free breakfast, the hotel is really worth the price. Free parking, the room was very clean and beautiful. Santa Barbara itself is not big, the location of the hotel looks a bit biased on the map, in fact, self-driving, it does not affect at all. Forgot to take pictures, post a few pictures of Santa Barbara, a beautiful town.
