"We live in San Diego and visited the wine region for a weekend - 6 of us - renting 4 villa rooms. Rooms were great and the restaurants and facilities were great. It is a big property with different themed accommodation, so you either need a car to move between the areas or ask reception to drive you (golf buggies). We stayed in the villas near Hache restaurant, with pool, cafe and dining easily walkable in 2 mins. We had dinner at Canteras, near reception, where you would need a lift to get to. Both very good restaurants. Would recommend."
"Nothing really positive to say about this "resort." The experience started with no one responding to my initial email so that I could book a room for a wedding block. I had to follow up twice before getting a response but even then, the price was incorrect. So several emails later and I was finally able to pay via PayPal. Never received a confirmation so had to follow up once again and told that their email would serve as confirmation. Fair enough but did all of this really require 31 emails back and forth?! Should have known from this how the rest of our experience would have gone. Fast forward to our arrival. We are greeted by a less than stellar front desk attendant that gave off that "I don't really want to be here" vibe. Wish I could remember her name but she has a pixie type hair cut if that helps. Anyway, she proceeds to try to charge me for 2 nights even though I had cancelled with plenty of notice for the first night (per their policy, it is 48 hours and I gave them more than a week notice). I then point out that I shouldn't even need to pay for the 1 night as I already paid via PayPal. She calls someone to confirm this and luckily that little nightmare is settled. How none of this is correctly noted is beyond me. We are taken to our suite and that's where the major issues happened. There are a dozen dead bugs right when we walk into the front door and coffee grounds all over the tray where the coffee maker is kept. We see that there are 2 large holes in the coffee bag and realize there is only one thing that could have done this - rats or mice! We call reception and they send a housekeeper to clean up. While she's on her way, I inspect a bit more and notice dust and rings on a wooden table left by wet glasses. I also look over where the dead bugs are laying and can tell that the floor had not been adequately swept. Housekeeper eventually arrives and when I show her the coffee bag, she confirms, "Oh yeah, rats." She says she will clean up in the most nonchalant manner so we tell her not to bother because there is no way in hell we are staying in this room, especially because my daughter would be staying in the room with the rodents! We are given another room, but in a completely different area - Tesela. Annoying because the rest of friends and family were in the villas. But whatever, we are told that's the last room available, which I highly doubt because the place definitely didn't look full. This room was cleaner but lacking basic things like tissue and a working telephone! The water from the shower overflowed all over the bathroom floor and the stairs leading to the lower level are deadly! Stay away from this disaster of a hotel. I hear there are way better places to stay in the Valle!"
"My family and I stood here because there was a room block for a wedding. The location is pretty close to all the wineries, so that’s a plus. The rooms were okay, a few things missing that I feel are basic amenities and would have made the stay more enjoyable. The rooms are missing a safe, mini refrigerator, microwaves, TVs, and irons are only available upon request. Also, no ice machines. They don’t have ironing boards in the room either. We stood at encinal and the rooms were small but we were only there a couple nights, so it was okay. The resort is still building so I’m sure with time it will be better. A lot more dirt than expected, but we survived. "
