This hotel was actually perfect from top to bottom. We had a junior suite for an overnight and I would love to spend a week in this charming place with their attentive and competent staff. The place has old world charm but doesn’t feel outdated in any way. Room is large, comfortable and pristinely prepared for the guests. They even have a pillow menu. The front desk team will find you whatever you need - no matter the day or time. We wanted to have our hair washed and styled for a dinner on the evening of our arrival. The front desk attendant did not stop calling around until she talked someone into taking us in last minute. At the bar, we received perfect service, along with complimentary snacks prepared freshly for us. - they were delicious ! We got in late and hungry from the Michelin restaurant in town where we had not liked the food - no problem, more snacks sent to our room with a bottle of wine. I am on a long trip through Europe and have stayed in various hotels - many 5 stars. This hotel was at the very top of our list service and accommodation wise. I will absolutely return to the charming town of Modena and stay at this hidden Gem !

Stayed here on the recommendation of someone very familiar with Modena. The hotel exceeded all my expectations. Our suite was large, luxurious, and well appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was enormous. Large windows let in abundant sunlight when wanted and yet the room was always peaceful. Buffet breakfast was fantastic, with many hot and cold options. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Sarah and Andreas at front desk. Location is also great, as it’s nearby many nice shops and just a ten minute walk to Piazza Mazzini, which became our go to spot for dining in Modena. I highly recommend this hotel.

It is the best hotel in the local area on Ctrip. The quilt of Suite 101 is not very comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom have no windows, there is a living room with windows, it feels stuffy. It is within walking distance of the Ferrari Museum and the Maserati Museum, and it is also within walking distance from the town center.
- ALICE JING
The room is small~~Breakfast~~ In the old town of Modena, 10 minutes walk from the Ferrari Museum in downtown Modena, the car has no way to stop at the hotel entrance, you need to walk in, this is not very convenient~~

Three-star hotels that are designed to have another, because the rooms are well-made and have all the essential comforts. Thank you very much for the water bottle offered, a sign of great gentleness and the boiler with tea and tea. All perfect and only 20 minutes walk from the center

We have used a smart box to book and unlike other facilities they haven't made any problem to book a room for Saturday night. Breakfast is provided with all the sweet and salty, but also a wide selection of gluten-free and lactose-free products.
- gingina65
The room is not big but very clean and tidy, the front desk service is very good, but the housekeeping attitude is very cold, the facilities are good, the hotel is also very new, the breakfast is also good, the breakfast environment is quite comfortable, it is a good choice for business trips

On the one hand, the service quality and the location from the hotel to the restaurant such as Osteria Francescana is quite close maybe 7 mins on foot. On the other, the room is quite small, but they have anything you may need and the space for taking a shower is big enough, therefore it is quite good enough for me with such low price.

Reviews From Real Travelers
I stayed in the hotel during the July heatwave. Hence the best part of the hotel, the garden, was not really usable. The beautiful photos of the grand rooms at the reception level are really misleading. These rooms are not used for anything and are therefore adding little to the value. The worst bit was the room. Although on my own, I actually shared the room (and the bathroom) with the ants (plenty of them). When I arrived at 3 pm at 38C degrees, the fridge in the room was not working because it was unplugged. Basically the adapter was missing (both issues were dealt with after complaints, but issues like this should not arise in a 4* hotel). Note that the power points take in the old fashioned 3-pin Italian plugs and hence you need an adapter regardless of where you live. The bathroom, although clean, smelled of dampness and the shower sewage outlet was getting clogged after just a few minutes. The room, while spacious, felt very, very tired. Nobody has put a lick of paint in it for 50 years or so. Air-con was OK. The staff were a mixed bag. A young lady at the reception was the only one who put a smile on her face. The older members of the stuff looked like they are tired of everything and just waiting for retirement. Having moved from this hotel to the same-chain hotel in Bologna, the differences are to the extreme in every respect. In my mind, the only thing that is 4* in this hotel is the price. Everything else is at best 3* (cannot comment on breakfast, was not having it). On the positive side is the location of the hotel, 10 min walk to the Piazza Grande.

We had an excellent experience at PHI. It is centrally located and we were able to park across the street. Our room was large and the bathroom was also quite large and included a very nice large tub. The staff was very nice, and we were able to check into our room early. Easy walking distance to the historic town center area. Also, don't miss the beautiful church that is right next to the hotel. Breakfast was in a beautiful downstairs area with lovely Jazz playing. There is an outdoor seating area/garden that looks very nice, but being July, it was a bit too warm to sit out. We plan to stay at PHI Hotel Canalgrande the next time we are in Modena.

Reviews From Real Travelers
The breakfast was very good, the water pressure in the shower was very nice, the room was clean, the staff friendly and the location is excellent, close to the old town. However, we hardly slept at all, due to the typical Italian bed: hard mattress, thin pillows and no duvets, just a thin linen sheet and a plaid. I doubt that many people who haven't grown up with an Italian bed are comfortable sleeping under a thin sheet tucked in on three sides... thankfully, there were two extra pillows, otherwise we would probably not have slept at all. After two nights, we still had stiff necks and sore backs. I have stayed at privately owned lodging that offered nordic bedding in Italy, so I know it's possible. It would be most welcome if Italian hotels were to adopt that as well The bathroom is tiny, my 1m90 tall Partner hit his knees everywhere and he was only able to turn on the water in the shower by leaving the glass door open. Furthermore, our booking.com confirmation said our room had a balcony, but we only had a small window in a corner. Due to that, the room git really warm during the night (at the end of April), and we couldn't leave the window open due to street noise. Finally, the walls are so thin I was able to listen to our next door neighbour's entire phone conversation, including what the person on the other end was saying ( they were most likely on speaker, but still.) I'm aware that's not easy to fix, but maybe signs asking guests to keep their voices down at night would help?

This hotel in good location on the edge of the old city. Our room large, light, quiet & comfortable. Good modern bathroom facilities. Breakfast magnificent with plenty of choice & top quality. All staff friendly & helpful. Unsecure wifi. Good value for money. Could do with more storage for clothes.
