Rua Afonso Luiz Borba 113 - Lagoa da Conceição, Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil
"We arrived in Florianopolis a bit frazzled from around 36 hours of travel, but that all soon faded away. The hotel itself has a beautiful charm, it only has 11 rooms all in a house at one end of the pool area. The beautiful stained-glass breakfast room / reception is along another side of the pool with the spa along another. We were really able to relax, reading a book by the pool or taking a sneaky afternoon nap to catch up on sleep! What really made our stay outstanding though was the staff at the hotel, who were all unfailingly helpful, and had such good English that it put us to shame. From Nazaret, who brought our lovely breakfast to us each morning with a wonderful smile, Mauricio who organised a day tour for us with a great English-speaking guide (Natalia) and sorted our whiffy laundry for us, and lastly Marcello whose recommendation for a restaurant for our 29th Weddiing Anniversary (La Dolce Vita) was outstanding. We will miss the easy, relaxed charm of Florianopolis, but will miss the staff at Quinta das Videiras even more!"
"This place is small and charming. Perfect for a quiet couples break. The rooms are small but adequate and spotlessly clean. All the staff are without exception the friendliest we’ve met. From the reception staff to the housekeeper. Everyone has a smile and nothing is too much trouble. English is well spoken. Breakfast was very cute and you can choose whatever you like. We also turned up very late at 11.40 one day for breakfast but it was no trouble. Great yoga studio just a few doors up on the same road. Mayhem and chaos exist just around the corner where you can immerse yourself in a few good bars and restaurants. This is a quiet little haven in the middle of it. We took an Uber to a beach called Barra da Lagoa. We had to walk the 7km road back as the traffic was literally bumper to bumper. It was a Sunday. Discovered later that there is a ferry. Costa da Lagoa also worth a visit and downtown florianapolis. "
"I enjoyed a delightful stay at this charming and characterful Pousada in Florianopolis. From the very welcome drink of sparkling wine and aniseed flavoured water and a refreshing cool towel on arrival after a long drive, the service at this hotel was outstanding. The traditional Portuguese touches, from stained glass windows to beautiful handcrafted tiles, and incredible attention to detail made my stay a real pleasure. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in and I awoke to a sumptuous breakfast beautifully presented in the hotel garden. On my last day I had a very early check out but the hotel staff made sure I did not leave hungry treating me to another fabulous full breakfast at 6am. A huge thank you to Mauricio and Matheus especially for extending such a warm and hospitable welcome. I wish I could have stayed longer to soak up the beauty and calm of your unique hotel. Thank you. Anil (London)."

Avenida Dos Buzios 1760, Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil
"Overall this resort is excellent. Spending one week visiting Floripa to explore opportunities for a month-long holiday I chose Il Campanario based upon the quiet location on reviews of Jurere. Arriving early (1200) the apartment wasn't ready (expected) and was offered (without having to ask) to store luggage securely. This was a wonderful way to be greeted! After a nice lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants I returned to the hotel at 1400 to a ready room and was escorted professionally by Matheus. Although no-one spoke english all were very patient as I translated and struggled to respond in Portuguese. Everyone was kind! The apartment (Suite Boulevard) was spacious, well provisioned, clean and supplied with plenty of fresh towels. COntrary to other reviews, the furniture is nice and in good condition, as were the linens. I have zero complaints about the room. The pools and sunbathing areas are well maintained, fun, appropriately spaced and well-served by the poolboys. Marcio speaks english well and was extremely attentive and nice. Taking advantage of the included breakfast I was impressed by the quality and quantity of the food and the CoVID safety measures in place. I always felt that the resort has in place and maintained excellent safety measures.. We dined at the fine restaurant on several occasions. While the service is paced slowly, this was expected and is customary for a beautiful evening. On many nights there was live music - perfect! The food was prepared perfectly. The wine list is extensive - and since I was drinking alone they always brought the remainder wine to my room. Perfect. Highly recommend - I will return for another short stay."
"I'm a super frequent flyer who logs in 200k miles per year and averages well over 100 nights per year at hotels. This was my second worst experience (worst was Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Thailand) of my life. Where to begin... 1. We were in Florianopolis as a family of three for Xmas break with the extended family (who lived down the road) and had reservations for two rooms over 9 nights. We were a couple with a 4 year old daughter. Despite evidencing the Terms and Conditions of the hotel I had reserved, they insisted on charging my 4 year old daughter (who, according to the T&C's, was eligible to stay free) an additional ~USD900 for the stay. Total shake down / highway robbery. Given the distance we had travelled (from Australia), I reluctantly gave in; 2. Notwithstanding #1 above, I forgot to pick up a third 'wristband', their means of identifying 'eligible' (i.e., financial victims) guests on the premises. I came downstairs one morning without my wristband and security swarmed me; leaving me unable to look after my 4 year old daughter - they wouldn't budget and refuse to confirm with front office staff that my ID matched the credit card details above and wanted me to PAY AGAIN given there were no records associated with #1 above. This was eventually sorted out (but only after I lost my nerves); 3. My daughter and her cousin, a 9 year old girl, wanted to go for a swim. Despite being told during the rip off check in process above that 'guest wristbands' were available, it turns out they would issue 'guest wristbands' in the event they ALSO paid a full one night fee (i.e., $USD300+) - for a quick swim! 4. On Xmas day, we made reservations downstairs, having forgotten to specify guests vs. non-guests - this again triggered the restaurant staff to send us to the front desk - turns out one is NOT even able to enter the premises to use the restaurant (more on that later) without ALSO paying a one night's fee; 5. Food - on the first day, at breakfast, a cleaner was undertaking maintenance on the glass enclosure above the outdoor tables at breakfast. Water / debris fell nearly hitting my daughter. No apologies ever issued - by the way - apologies NEVER issued for 1 - 4 above; 6. Rooms are falling apart and small; 7. Bar food - equally terrible; served STILL FROZEN chips and a frozen burger patty once. DISGUSTING as well as overpriced The only (very partially) redeeming features this property has is the heated indoor / outdoor pools and the location adjacent to a food truck (good food) area and near the beach - but DON'T FORGET THOSE WRISTBANDS if you'd like to ever enter the premises again! Make no mistake - this place is institutionalised robbery and I, for one, will never return again in my next trip to Florianopolis - go AirBnB or HomeAndAway ANY DAY in lieu of staying at this property."
"I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed every moment. The room was larger than expected, the bedding was very comfortable, the staff was beyond helpful for every need as a woman traveling alone not knowing the native language of Portuguese. The room service food is delicious and the restaurant on premise is world class. Can't say enough about the food and drinks! I can't wait to come back and bring my family and friends! "

"Beach is very quiet with no waves, best suited for small children. This hotel only offers accommodation with breakfast and dinner packages. Good option to stay all the day in the hotel, but not nice if the intention is to ride and visit other areas in Florianopolis during the day. Ocean front rooms have air conditioner only in the main room. The side room (with the 2 additional single beds) have only a fan above the beds. Lateral ocean view rooms are better because it's a single space and the air conditioner reaches all the beds. No balcony, but still pretty views to the ocean, and for a better price."
"TASTY FOOD WITH EXCELLENT PRICE. INCREDIBLE VIEW, splendid caipirinha with cachaça I RECOMMEND. FRIENDLY ATTENDANTS and huge sea food menu I repeat in an incredible place with an amazing sea view unmissable."
"The location and amenities are very good, except for minor details (for example, shower in the room leaked water outside of the shower compartment, hot food in the restautant wasn't kept sufficiently hot."

"The hotel is very simple, close to the seaside where you can't swim Reception is poor The restaurant for breakfast is more than bad, no varieties and nothing The whole hotel is small, very small rooms, small restaurant, small swimming pool, everything The reception is bad and there is no experience. He refused and said we had to pay more to get that room and the hotel was in the winter season and there are no visitors and all rooms are not occupied, however simply refused, and all the hotel if it is a 1 star will provide this very simple switch to any customer in the non-tourist season The basic problem is its price is very overpriced for the location and the real level of the hotel Never deserve this assessment that he got and the experience was bad The only thing excellent was the cleanliness"
"Mid-sized hotel gives excellent personalized service. English is spoken at reception which is very helpful in this region. Comfortable bed, large room, separate large tub and shower. Spent a few dollars more to get the Executive Suite with sea view was well worth it!"

"Very well situated near the seafront, only 50 m walk to a quiet nice beach. The staff is extremely friendly, the caipirinhas are top. A very good place to go to with kids, they have all they need to keep them entertained. Breakfast is quite good. Only the rooms could be better. They need some freshening up, with dirty lockers, doors not closing, bad accoustics, etc."

"We are a family of four, with two little kids. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is very nice, the room was very spacious and had a kitchen with all that is needed to cook, where we could prepare meals for our baby. The pool is amazing, our older kid (4 years) really enjoyed it since it has different levels and he could use it without our help. There is also a place with a ping pong table and some other toys where he spent several hours playing. What I liked the most is the beach. You can walk from your room to the beach directly, which I see as a great advantage when traveling with kids. It is true that the beach is small and crowded, but I didn't mind it and the water is really really nice, I enjoyed some of the best baths there. The breakfast is ok and had some healthy options, although I would suggest adding more vegan options. Jurere has a beautiful downtown and is very nice to have some walks. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed a lot."
"Being there for a week, participating at a triathlon race there, was by far one of my worst experiences ever (I am level 7, Hotel expert in TripAdvisor). Due to the fact that there we not many guests in the hotel, the management team decide to proceed with offering “a la cart” breakfast menu (!!!!! see pictures). Fine with this, but we had to order by completing/ fulfilling the menu sheet, which was written ONLY in Brazilian language !!!! We asked for a piece of help about translating and we had to wait round +20 minutes to find someone among the staff that speaks English !!!! The results are shown clearly in the uploaded pics. We claim like beggars for 2 extra pieces of bread !!! And of course no honey, no butter, nothing extras .. Breakfast in bellow standards, according on the money you pay for (even the next day, buffet was "on duty"). Nobody of the hotel staff or management team, contact us for any kind of apologize.. that’s the worst issue in our story experience.. After a couple of days, our travel agent told us that due to the fact of all this bellow performance service situation, the hotel management wanted to upgrade for the rest 4 days (already had stayed 3 nights), from Side ocean view to Ocean view room. We remind to the reception desk that we are going to stay one more extra night there (8th in a row, booked directly online) and the lady told us that we will be upgraded for the rest 4 nights but the last night (8th) we have to move again (!!!!) back to a side ocean view room !!!!! What a professional approach ! Of course we felt like waste of time, talking with them. No matter if the location is in front of the sea (actually you can not swim in front of the hotel as the area is “rented” by the fishermen so you have to move hundred meters left side, but you learn this only by fishermen- not hotel staff !!! ) If you speak only English, then whatever happens to you, then you have to move to the reception desk in order to talk with someone and clear the issues. Staff is not an experience one and ONLY 5% of the Hotel staff, can speak English and whatever you want to ask or to order among the hotel, you have to contact reception desk (!!!!). What’s also important is the fact that you have to take care of the minibar use, as the ladies that they are control minibars, they charge what you drink or eat (it make sense of course, as this is the rule) BUT they don’t proceed by refuelling the missed items, so every day you are charged the same quantity of missing items. (The first day we drink 1 bottle of water and 1 bin of pinuts and for theee days in a row, they charged us 3 bottles of water plus 3 bins of pinuts, while he had bought only 1+1 (...!!!!...). We strongly complain at the reception but finally was (for one more time) a waste of time .. For sure never visit this place again as this hotel is overrated and overvalued."
"We stayed 5 nights at Jurere Beach Village. Traveled with a big party and booked 3 suites and 1 standard room. We didn't have much interaction with the staff members aside from check in and out so all I can say about the service is that was Ok. My family stayed at a one bedroom suite located on the 4th floor of a building which had only ONE elevator that could fit max 5 people. Room looked and felt worn down. Throughout our 5 nights stay there was an on and off sewage smell coming from the air vents. The building and rooms seem to have been remodeled but they kept the very old kitchen appliances intact. Bathroom shower and sink lacked water pressure. Toilet paper holder kept falling apart. AC was extremely loud even at the lowest setting so we had to sleep with it turned off. Considering it was middle of summer we did not have a pleasant sleep. I must admit that the room was clean, towels and linens also very clean. Our stay included a breakfast buffet. Not much variety and everyday was exactly the same. The pool area was nice. They have 2 pools that are adjacent to each other. However pool area is in between the towers so you only get a limited amount of sun during the day. Beach is a few steps behind the pools. It was a crowded beach. Very "short" sand area as they built the resort too close to the sea so you literally have about 5 to 10 meters of sand depending on the tide. The resort provides couressy beach chairs for its guest but they are not reclinable. I am assuming it's because space is too limited. Forget about a space to lay your own towel. Also there are beach vendors pushing carts around the already very crowded beach selling from drinks to souvenirs. I found it annoying. We went to the hotel beach just one day and had enough. Rest of our stay we stayed at the pool, went to water park and visited other beaches. The hotel beach was not worth it. Jurere Beach Village is overpriced for what it offers. We paid roughly US$360 per night for a suite that smelled bad, was worn out, had a loud AC, offered mediocre breakfast, poorly equipped gym and a crowded and small beach. At an international level there are far better value beach front hotels in the world. This one is definitely not worth the price. "

Av. Rubens de Arruda Ramos, number 2034, Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil
"LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Centrally located, on the waterfront (busy road in between), within a longer walk to the city centre. There are some restaurants around as well. In the morning you can enjoy locals jogging and running in the area. There is parking in front of the hotel , but they also offer a garage (BRL 32), valet. HOTEL OVERVIEW *** Hm... It is high-end hotel, but I think I simply did not have enough time to enjoy and appreciate it. I had an overnight stay only and didn’t really want to spend to much time inside. It wasn’t busy, but again, I arrived very late and left quite early. I think there is a swimming pool on top of the building, but... it was closed for renovation. This was not specified or communicated in the reservation. For 1 night stay it’s not an issue, but if I have booked a week holidays, I would probably leave after that night anyway. Quite important detail missed. PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure RESERVATION *** Via Accor Hotels website. Booking accessible via their mobile app. LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 1 night – Nov 2018 CHECK-IN *** It was quick and efficient, especially that I arrived late night. There was a bit of confusion with the pre-paid rate, but this was quickly sorted. LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Nice & elegant. Staff welcomes guests with a smile (even after midnight) and it’s impossible to get lost in the lobby. ROOM *** #1160 – Luxury Room with 1 King-size Bed and Front View of the Sea – yes, this is the full name of the room I booked. It was located on one of the top floors and only in the morning I could appreciate the sea view as during the night is simply black outside. Room was spacious enough, but I would not call it ‘big’. Just enough space. Elegant, trendy, clean & fresh, but was still lacking something. I’m not sure what it was (possibly balcony), but I did not really feel that it was worth the extra money. Bed was very comfortable, maybe even too soft. Of course Air-Condition (and you can slightly open one of the side windows) and safety deposit box in the room. Not enough electric sockets in the room and I think none near beds (everybody has at least 1 device to charge overnight). BATHROOM *** It was quite small, but spotless clean. They have provided really good quality toiletries. BREAKFAST *** Breakfast is served in the restaurants downstairs. There was a good selection of cold and hot meals, but I really wasn’t impressed with the dry bread & bread rolls (I was there early, so this has not happened that morning). Also kind of unhappy staff didn’t help with the atmosphere. I would say this was the weakest breakfast during my 3 trips to Brazil (probably 15-20 different hotels). It was OK, but for the price which is considerably higher than hotels around, I was expecting slightly better options. INTERNET ACCESS *** Wi-Fi access was free & connection was good. CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** Young reception staff was full of life! I love them. Check-out w"
"I'm gonna start here talking about the bed that it was probably one of the best I've ever slept on. It was very comfortable, very nice and cozy! The room itself was also very nice, the bathroom was great and so was the shower. We had a nice view, even tho we didn't stay in a high floor. The service was good and the location was great with many restaurants around it."
"Smack on the beach in Floripa, near everything you could wish for, and super easy for getting around. Welcoming staff, comfortable room with a great view of the bay, and small but surprisingly good in-house spa & pool. Not super cheap, but not wildly overpriced either."

"We also stayed at Costa Norte Ingleses on Praia dos Ingleses and were very pleased with this top-rated Florianopolis bed and breakfast hotel. The grounds are beautiful, especially at night, with a deck and good restaurant right on the beach (unique in Ingleses). The rooms are very comfortable with nice ocean views available. Waves from the ocean are wonderful to listen to. Facilities include an outdoor pool, heated indoor pool, wet and dry saunas, gym, A/C, refrigerator, and a very nice breakfast can be enjoyed overlooking the beach. A nice supermarket is right across the street. Beach and seafood lovers will enjoy a stay on Brazil’s beautiful island of Florianopolis (Ilha de Santa Catarina). Florianopolis and its beautiful white sand beaches and towns are safe to visit and walk around. It is also known as a mecca for surfers with great waves. This region of Brazil enjoys some of Brazil’s highest standards of living and was settled by emigrates from Europe (i.e. Germany, Italy) appearing more European than Latin. So we could enjoy some very nice hotels during our visit, we decided to stay in the north of Florianopolis and rent a car to visit some of Florianopolis’ other beautiful beaches. Driving around this island was very doable using Google Maps. We split our visit between Praia de Jurere and Praia dos Ingleses enjoying these nice beaches while visiting other beautiful beaches by car. Our stay at Pousada dos Sonhos (see review below for reasons why) made our stay on Praia de Jurere memorable. The town of Jurere is an upscale place to stay in Florianopolis with nice long beach and restaurants (some of the top rated in Florianopolis). The beach offers calm ocean to swim in. Staying at Costa Norte Ingleses provided a very enjoyable experience at Praia dos Ingleses (again, see our review below to see why). Praia dos Ingleses is one of Florianopolis’ finest beaches offering a wide sandy beach with gentle ocean waves to swim in. Praia dos Ingleses has become rather developed with hotels and high-price restaurants. Most of the beaches on Florianopolis have restaurants and other facilities. Florianopolis’ northern beaches are more developed with calmer waves and during the high season they are more crowded party scenes (but nice). Southern beaches are less developed offering more tranquil beach experiences. If you want to visit a beautiful completely undeveloped beach, stop at the nature preserve of Mocambique – quite lovely! Beautiful Praia Mole is a must stop – one of our favorite beaches we visited in Florianopolis. Several laid-back beach restaurants are located overlooking the stunningly beautiful beach. We liked Barraco da Mole mid way on the beach with its good view of the beach, nice music, good food and drinks, and friendly staff. Several paid parking lots are available servicing Praia Mole. Praia Mole has good surfing and during peak times (Summer – December to February), Praia Mole is a party scene with beautiful tanne"
"Overall, a really great hotel that I'd definitely recommend to enjoy the North of Florianópolis! Hotel is greatly located at north Ingleses beach right in front of the sea. Suite is outstanding, very spacious and has a nice view. Rooms are very clean and room service keeps it this way everyday. Good shower amenities too. Unfortunately the level of noise is a little high sometimes, especially when there are people in the hallway, but it's bearable and not a problem to sleep. Overall a very comfy room to stay at. Staff is helpful and do what they can to help you. Breakfast is delicious, with decent amount of options for all tastes. Hotel restaurant Canto do Mar also serves great seafood so you don't need to worry about going outside to eat. Hotel also provides a good beach service with beach chairs and umbrellas. You can also request drinks and food there, which is very nice, however service is sometimes slow and doesn't look at you all the time. Sometimes you have to go find them. Nonetheless, everything went really smooth and I'd easily stay again at Costa Norte Ingleses!"
"We spent the week of carnaval at costa norte ingleses - and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The beachfront view is breathtaking, the restaurant (inside the hotel) is one of the best in floripa, and the recreational team (Tio Andi) made our stay even more special. The only bad part of staying here is having to leave!"
