"I don't usually take time to write a review, but I'm doing so now in the hopes some decision-maker reads this and puts a plan into effect to make improvements. Issue 1 - the cost for my first night's stay was reasonable and should've been provided throughout my stay. This hotel nearly doubled and then tripled the nightly rate simply because there was a college football game about 10-miles away. When I checked in, even the desk clerk was shocked at the cost of my stay and checked to confirm it was accurate. Ridiculous pricing. It’s not like I was staying in Las Vegas, where that weekend, I could get a room at the Venetian for $140 per night. Marriott hotels in the Orlando/Disney area are running about $176. The pricing in little ole Tallahassee, Florida, was ridiculous for that type of hotel and room. Clearly, they gouged everyone who stayed there because of a football game. Issue 2 - the room we had was equipped with a window A/C unit one would expect to find in a Motel 6. It was covered by a wooden luggage rack with slats to let the air through. With nothing else covering it but the rack, the A/C ran continuously, set on 60 degrees, which kept the room barely tolerable with two adults and two teenagers. The manager allowed us to check out another room, but it, too, was equipped with the same A/C and was no cooler than our room. To make matters worse, taking a shower only added steam to the room. However, the hallway was freezing cold. People in the room across the hall from us propped their door open to allow the hallway A/C into their room. The manager later provided us with an oscillating fan, which helped a little, but this was frankly the worst experience I've ever had for a Marriott hotel. On the day we were leaving, the desk clerk apologized to us and said they just received permission to take the luggage racks out of the rooms. I'm no A/C expert, but that's not going to fix this. Other Marriott hotels I've stayed in have a central-type or larger volume wall-mounted A/C with a thermostat. That's what is needed here. I will not make a reservation here again, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone else. Online and in person, the hotel looks decent. Looks like a nice place to stay. So, you turn over nearly $1,400 for a 4-night stay in what turns out to be a Motel 6-like sauna. Never again."
"This hotel is going through renovation but the parts that are complete are clean and spacious. The staff is magnificent. Our room was not yet ready for us and the front desk crew gave us some recommendations where we could take the dogs. Always pleasant each time we came in. Alma, was very accommodating in the lounge, willing to provide what we needed and pointing out all of the goodies for breakfast. Dhe provides eggs, sausage, French toast and the usual assortment of food. I highly recommend this location. Not one negative thing to say."
"This is definitely not one of the good Fairfields. My say something nice is that the front desk staff is very kind and the check in process was smooth. Unfortunately, our room left a LOT to be desired. Right next to the elevator shaft, the room was VERY loud. Extremely basic amenities, which is fine, expected - but they’ve used Covid as an excuse to cheap out even more. No more makeup remover wipes. Now you get “hand sanitizer wipes” which are the little ones you get in the basket when you order ribs. Garbage The one good thing about the occasional Fairfield is they would have a cook for their little breakfast buffet. Well, now they’ve used Covid as an excuse to just have these little hockey puck Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that you have to stand in line to microwave. The coffee is of course either empty or ice cold all the time except between the hours of 4AM - 7 AM. The paint on the walls in the room was atrocious! Patched with paint of an entirely different color, and the wallpaper has blisters that are clearly filled with water from some kind of leak in the wall. There is not one single USB port for a phone charger in this whole room (she says typing from her phone with 15% battery left). I’ll have to drive around to charge my phone on the car. We came in town for the FSU game so of course all the nearby hotels had very high rates for the night. Even this Fairfield wanted like $269 a night to book direct! I went through Priceline and got the room for about $160 and it’s a good thing, too - if I’d have paid almost $300/night for this I’d be mad as hell. As it is I’m miffed enough to come on here and rake them over the coals!"

"DH and I stayed here for our anniversary since we were dining at Shulas. We received a complimentary breakfast since DH is Titanium for life with Marriott. We used a suite upgrade to get an Executive Suite room. The room was done in gray and black. The bathroom had a modern glass sink and a walk in shower with dual rainhead showers and a bench, along with glass barn doors. Living area was comfy. DH and I were both warm during the night. We should have closed the glass barn door, since the AC seemed to blow over the bed and into the living area. Mattress was dated and we would both roll to the middle of the bed which didn’t give us the best nights sleep ever."
"Well what can I say I was highly disappointed with my stay at the Hotel Duval. The hotel itself presents well - the valet and lobby area was clean and kept up. The rooms were not. We stayed at the hotel for a wedding and every single person in our party (6 rooms) complained that the rooms were dirty. The bathrooms specifically were dirty and smelly. The shower smelled and felt it hadn't had deep clean in years. Hard water stains on the black tiles. Due to the nature of where the facet was the water splattered all over the counter. Dust covered the space under the sink. We kept the doors to the bathroom closed for most of our stay. The bed sunk in the middle and was very uncomfortable. When asked to move rooms was told there were no other rooms available. I was sorely disappointed and was embarrassed that I had my family stay there. I will say everyone at the hotel who worked there was lovely but that didn't make up for the lack of cleanliness of the rooms. I couldn't wait to check out and go home. Not the 4 star plush experience I hoped for."
"My wife and I spent a night in Talahassee while traveling last week. I had booked the Hotel Duval because it was an Autograph hotel since many of them are unique. This one certainly was. Rooms are very 1950's styled, hard floors, glass doors to the bathroom, small windows etc. The rooftop bar is great, excellent service and great sunset views. Shula's steakhouse means you don't have to leave to have an excellent dinner."

"This Comfort Inn & Suites feels almost new. Entering the lobby was the first indication that this is a well kept property. The rate was fair on Hotels Tonight & in person. Our room was clean & roomy with the king size bed, desk & a sofa. The check in was easy with a helpful friendly staff. We so recommend this hotel. "
"The hotel is located right next to the highway to Alabama. The environment is elegant and the car park is on the open space in front of the hotel building. The floor color is especially artistic!"
"The people were very friendly. We especially thought Angie was very helpful upon checkout. The beds were super comfortable. We did feel a better breakfast could be provided and feel they are hiding behind covid. The breakfast was chips, water, peanut butter crackers. Other than that... we had an excellent experience there. "

"The hotel is located near the city center, with restaurants and shopping centers nearby, which is more convenient. Although Tower City is the capital of Florida, it is small and has no attractions, just passing by."

"I am a fan of Marriott properties and always stay in them when possible. I booked this property due to an available room size ( 1 bedroom suite) for FSU's Parents weekend. I could rant and rave about the outrageous price gouging that occurs throughout lodging options in Tally for this weekend, but will concentrate on the condition of the room, not the $799 per night I paid for it (normally $144), all paid up front, non refundable. The lobby looked kinda updated, staff on duty was nice enough, directed us where to park for easy access to the elevator. Walking in, greeted with the smell of wet dog (I think) and for the entire walk to our room (room 252) dirty worn out carpets. Checked into the room and soon after my daughter arrived, so really did not take a hard look at the room and just dumped our luggage and left with her. We returned later that evening and really began to take notice of the room. Dirty carpets with ground in dirt, a potato chip (I think) on the floor by the sofa, and in the bathroom, the shower ceiling with mold, and bubbling wall paint with a runny AC vent leaving stains on the wall, and dirty or missing grout. To be honest, I was just too tired to complain and there is no possible way the staff could not know the condition of the bathroom. I got into bed and noticed what looked like blood or some similar stain on the comforter, gross! I just tossed it aside and let the noisy AC lull me to sleep, at least it kept the room nice and cold! The next morning we got going and I dropped my cell phone off the night stand between the beds, when I reached down to get it, I found a plastic fork next to the bed, I was afraid to peer down and look any further. I see another review of room 252 here, that said "its great", it must have been an alternative reality, I am including pictures. This is not what is expected for a Marriott property."
"This hotel has an excellent location, but it seemed like a lot of the guests were a bit sketchy. There were people loitering around every exit door, lots of people sitting in their cars for hours until late at night, pacing around the grounds, driving in and out of the parking lot really fast while blasting their supercharged stereo systems, etc. There were almost no families or female travelers at this hotel. It was mostly males, either alone or in pairs. I didn't feel safe using any door of the hotel except for the front door because of all the guys just hanging around the grounds. The hotel itself is dark and musty, with extremely long hallways. It felt really creepy."
"The environment is nice and comfortable."
