We were in the area to tour Kochi's sights and sounds, and while Auberge Tosayama is about a 45 minute drive from the city, we had our own car and felt that relaxing in a remote oasis would be better than staying at a bland, large hotel. After staying at this retreat, we felt that we made a good choice. It's a stylish small resort (only 16 rooms total) that blends in nicely with its mountainous surroundings. It has a mostly earthly tone in muted colors that really soothed our soul and made us feel one with nature. The reception area has floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of the lush greenery and rolling hills all around. Our Villa was accessed by crossing the river via a suspension bridge (it's sturdy, not to worry) - an interesting way to get to the room without it being too far to be an arduous task. The Villa itself is one of a few that on the other side of the river, and each are detached units that are reminiscent of a mountain hut. The Villa was tastefully furnished and well appointed. While we generally prefer larger rooms with bedrooms that are separate from the living room, the junior suite-style layout was adequate. Two nits to pick, however. First, no Onsen (natural hot springs) bath in the room, as is the case with many top-end ryokans. Secondly, internet speeds were terrible... that is, if we could even get connected (it was intermittent.) While I understand that the purpose of staying in a place like this is to unwind and disconnect from the civilized world, it would be nice to have the option to get online should we so choose. Oh, one more thing... the nearest electrical outlet is FAR from the only table in the room; we borrowed a long extension cord, but even then, it was literally a stretch for the cable to reach my laptop. At least they have a communal Onsen, which is gender segregated (like 99% of public ryokan Onsen baths) and offers both an indoor and open-air bath. It's not very large, but given the small number of rooms on site, it's doubtful that you'll have to share it with too many people, save for late afternoons (just before dinner) and late mornings (after breakfast and just before check-out time.) Auberge Tosayama's supposed calling card is its food offerings - after all, it has ”Auberge” in its name. We enjoyed the meals, and it's probably as good as it's going to get in Kochi. It won't be on our ”10 best ryokan meals” list, but it doesn't have to be. Not everything was spectacular, but there were a few memorable dishes. The Foie Gras ”Joyo Mushi” was a dish consisting of Foie Gras mixed with grated Yam that was steamed into a ball shape, topped with Uni (Sea Urchin) and doused with Ankake sauce. Even the simpler dishes, including a salad that contained locally-sourced vegetables such as Komatsuna (Japanese Mustard Spinach) and Japanese Turnip was excellent. We were in Kochi after all, so we really wanted to try some of the indigenous dishes... and Auberge Tosayama did a great job introducing us to many lo

In the morning and evening, the meal is a creative dish using local ingredients to sip your appetite. There is no TV in the guest room, so it is sometimes good to spend a relaxing time listening to the CD. Even in Kochi city, the road on the way is narrow due to the countryside of Tosayama, so be careful of oncoming vehicles. The guest room is not No. ・ Irohanihoheto ... It is said that the characters are written by a calligrapher's teacher, but it is too easy to read. I think I wanted to appeal the Japanese taste, but I'm sorry!

I visited you with a tour rank-up plan, but I received the best hospitality. The hall is clean and well cleaned, the courtyard is wonderful, and the rooms are large and clean. Even though the meal was a group guest, they served properly, and the explanation of the meal was generally perfect and I had the best time. The performance of the grilled cherry blossoms was also very powerful. The futon was also laid out in anticipation of the room, and the morning newspaper was prepared. The bath had a good view on the top floor and the open-air bath was wonderful. The bath is fashionable and massage is free. You can see Kochi Castle. Anyway, it is an inn that I would like to stay again when I come to Kochi and recommend to those who go.

The hotel is very historical, receiving many politicians, very traditional hotels, so long history can be maintained so well, it is worthy of admiration and appreciation. The hotel also has a hot spring, convenient travel and good service. thumbs up!

The national convention of ”Women's Association to Improve Aging Society” was held in Matsuyama City, Shikoku on October 23, 2021. Since I'm going to Shikoku, I booked and stayed at ”Villa Santorini” with my 93-year-old mother. It was photogenic and all the staff were kind, but it was the worst and worst for my 93 year old mother. It rained lightly from the time of arrival, and only the outer stairs to the front desk. Same from the front desk to the room. (No railing.) The porch at the entrance of the room was filled with water and seemed to slip, and my shoes got wet. The ultimate was a restaurant in a separate building on the 3rd floor, quite far away! I couldn't understand the difficulty of climbing the stairs, probably because my mother looked young for 93 years old, or because all the staff were young. (When I saw it the next morning, it was a long staircase, but it was a very nice staircase. Of course, there is no handrail.) Finally, my mother said that it was too hard to proceed and ”go home.” However, to get back to the room, you have to go back the same long road, and the down road is difficult again. The ultimate is Haccho with chest! It's only 3 steps, but in the rain, it's nice, but (for my 93-year-old mother) I patiently climbed a long uphill, and at the end there is no handkerchief. It seemed to be really painful, and as soon as I entered the dining room door, I took out my handkerchief and started crying. ”What bad thing do I have to do and see such a terrible thing?” I cried, so I was full of feelings of regret. I was in trouble because the restaurant was dark again. I learned for the first time at a restaurant here that as I get older, my eyes become harder to see. My mother said ”I can't see it, it's dark”, so the staff turned on a spare light on the stepladder, but it was still not bright. The staff were very kind, but in terms of hardware, I wanted to let you know clearly, ”There is no elevator. Only the outer stairs.” Business owners and customers are not all young people, so please consider it.

Greek cave hotel in Japan. It was a hotel I've always wanted to stay at. It's hard to make a reservation, so how long will I be staying on Saturday? no longer. I have no choice but to make a reservation at a hotel vacant instead of my own schedule, so it's a vacant day on Friday more than 2 months before my stay! Reservation. If you are alone, you can carry out the schedule, so make a reservation for one person. Of course, I also booked a delicious French dinner. I stayed on my birthday because I happened to have a free day on my birthday. It was the month when Chef Ihara of Rogue retired, so I had the first and last popular chef's food. I'm curious about the new chef's food, so I'll go to stay again ♪

We stayed overnight on the tour. Lack of communication between the hotel side and the travel agency! Only the number of guest rooms was informed by the tour operator, and a smoking room was assigned to me, who was smoke-free. There is a similar thing in the previous word of mouth, and there is no willingness to improve? The room door and window were opened, and the wind was blown for a small hour, and the deodorant spray was blown to the katen, and the deodorant and the air cleaner were operated all night, and it was scattered 々. For smokers, it is delighted when there are few rooms where they can smoke, so if you tell the tour operator not only the number of rooms but also the side dishes of smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms, you can adjust in advance. Also, the equipment is conspicuously old. The toilet in the guest room is a small unit bath and the entrance from the dirt floor, so it is troublesome to wear geta before going, so just put a crossing snowcoat to solve it! The tatami mats feel dirty even if they are rubbed and cleaned. The seat surface of the chair is also conspicuous. The breakfast venue was also vacant, but there were few people and I was waiting for the cleaning.

I visited Kochi for the first time, and it was my first time to go to Kochi to eat bonito and play golf in Kuroshio Country. The hot springs were great, and Hirome Market wasn't far away, so at night, I ate bonito and famous dumplings at Hirome Market, and I want to go again! ︎

Everybody was kind and good, but I thought I was asking for accommodation with breakfast, but there was also dinner. I checked it at the reception, but it was said that it was reserved with dinner.

The building itself is certainly facing the riverbank, but the room I stayed in was a western room, but it was narrow, and the walls and ducts of the apartment building that seemed to be decaying when I opened the window were only visible, and I was almost breathless. There is a large bath, but it is a tight feeling if only one bathtub and three people enter. And I think it is not a hot spring. The dishes were more important than quality, so I left quite a bit. The most disappointing thing is the tataki of the cherry blossoms that went out for dinner. The freshness was bad and smelly, and I lost my appetite only by seeing it. The room rate was also jumped several times as usual, and I was disappointed overall. However, it was saved that the aunt Nakai who served the meal was cheerful and generous. When I ordered the whiskey straight, I brought me a glass.

Ryokans are reserved temporarily, so they are expensive. Hotel service is still very OK, but communication is a bit barrier

It is a accommodation in Haruno General Sports Park. We use the restaurant on the 1 floor. It is convenient because it can be eaten immediately after watching sports and sweating.

It stands on the mountain. The view from the top floor was the best. The bath was also colored 々, and it was a hot spring with a salt smell, and the open air was also wide and good. If you are going by JR, you can also climb the back road of Naoto for 4 minutes from Hakawa Station and about 5 minutes from there. The signboard is secretly coming out, but the road is hard to understand and when the sun is over, it doesn't feel dark to walk & it is quite slippery after raining, so it turns around the corner of the Koyaki shop that has been around from the public road for about 12 minutes The road to go (about 900 meters away from the road that comes out in Google maps) is recommended for ordinary shoes. Or you can go from ino station by taxi for 1000 yen (as of 2022) in 7-8 minutes. The hotel transfer is only ino station at 16 o'clock (reservation is necessary), so I think it would be better to ride it if the timing is right. The hotel is said to be the facilities of the inn of Kanpo at the height of the year, but I think it is still cleanly maintained. One thing I was worried about was that there was a dried insect in the lighting of the fluorescent lamp in the room, so it might be better to clean it occasionally. It may be no choice because it gathers in the light. I stayed for a long time at the pilgrimage and the activity of the ninyodo gawa River, but I am generally very satisfied.

If you are looking for a large room at a great price, this is it! I am one of them. It's not far from Kochi city, so it was a car-free trip, but transportation is okay. You can use two stations. Thanks to that, I was able to go to the kappa building and the hobby building toward the Shimanto River, and I was able to see fry of the salmon jumping in the Iyodo River. It was nice to take a walk 〜, It's a very beautiful clear stream. Why are many white things flowing from the opposite bank? Like tissue in the distance? But big? When I thought about it, I could see the flower blooming on the second day, and it was resolved safely. It was a white wood! The scenery of the mountain is magnificent and the clouds growing from the mountains? fog? The contrast with the sunlight is cool. The weather was only blessed on the afternoon of the first day due to the typhoon, but the hotel staff are very kind and very satisfied. May was busy and worried about my whole body muscle pain, but it became quite easier! Thank you. One unfortunate point is that the very nice view is nice to see from the windows on the hill, but all the windows are quite dirty and have a lot of insects. Only there is a pity.

Compared to the past (before the coronavirus pandemic), this ryokan's reputation has fallen considerably. This is the only natural hot spring in Tosa, and it is a facility so scenic and located in an inconvenient location that you have no choice but to stay here if you are visiting Seiryuji Temple on a pilgrimage or attending nearby Meitoku Gijuku High School. Speaking of Tosaryu Onsen, this is the same place. What had changed greatly was the ``food'' that was the selling point of this place.Even though I don't like fish, they were offering a large amount of quality fish and dishes at reasonable prices.I was surprised when I went there for the first time in a while. Both the quality and quantity have declined significantly...The price is for dinner and breakfast on a set trip, so details of the contents are unknown... I don't know if this is a ``just'' hot spring inn, and it costs money to renew and maintain the inside of the hotel, but this is no good. If there was another facility where I could stay, I would feel comfortable replacing it. The scenery is still amazing! ! One word. Nature doesn't change, but customer CS does. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that all the staff members have become younger? Back when the landlady was making an appearance, I felt that the food alone was the best in Shikoku, but...free shuttle service from Kochi Station (however, advance reservations required), round-trip transportation to Seiryuji Temple, etc...CS around here. It seems that it is still being maintained.

I thought the hot springs were cloudy, but the open-air bath was comfortable. It was in the middle of repairing again. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. Especially the ”salt tataki” served for dinner was exquisite. The building is old, but it has been renovated in places, and the staff was friendly and I was able to spend a relaxing time. It was a good location for a morning walk, about a 10-minute walk to Seiryu-ji Temple, the 36th temple.
