"Stayed here for six nights with friends. We used the hotel as a base for visiting Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Lucca. It was a welcome oasis to come back to each day. The swimming pool was lovely. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The balcony was great for tea and chat late into the night. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke good English. Breakfast was bountiful. Restaurant next door is highly recommended. Lucca is 10 minutes by car."
"We booked a stay for 6 nights at this hotel, but ended up staying just 2 nights. The first room we got, appeared to be a room for “people with disabilities”, as this was the only room left. The room was extremely small (not appropriate at all for people with disabilities) and many facilities were missing. We then got another room. This room was very outdated. Many furniture were broken, electrical wires were hanging out in the open (dangerous), the walls were filthy and contained some leakages, the mattresses were so bad that it hurt, the beds did not have proper covers and had a strange bad smell, the shower was moldy, the air condition was making such a loud noise we couldn’t sleep and the aircondition was very dusty (not very healthy), the curtains were too short so they couldn’t be closed properly, the balcony door did not close entirely, the bathroom door was broken and we got locked up a couple times, etc etc. There are so many more complaints. So we decided to leave after 2 days. Main reason of our early departure was that we payed 100 euros per night for this room and it was supposed to be a 4 stars hotel. Afterwards, the hotel did not agree with these complaints, even when all the pictures were shared with them. We did not expect such a bad room, especially based on the price per night, the pictures on the website and the 4 stars the hotel has. We are very disappointed. Luckily, booking.com helped us out, but we will not have a second stay at this hotel in the future."
"This hotel is situated in a quite area, 10 minutes outside of Lucca. The room was a bit small and somewhat outdated with a hard mattress on the bed (that can be a positive or negative, depending on your preference). Staff is friendly and breakfast ok! All in all; nice hotel but nothing to remember it about!"

"The hotel is quite satisfactory, the location is close to the airport, it is very convenient to leave, it is very convenient to go on the high speed, unlike the old city, it is difficult to park a car, the room is much larger than the old city, and it is comfortable."
"Ottima struttura appena fuori dal centro. Molto comodo il centro commerciale raggiungibile a piedi."

"After traveling, the hotel is relatively quiet. The main considerations of safety, cleanliness and other factors when traveling out are still good. There is also a parking lot, suitable for self-driving travel, a good choice."

"Overall it is good, the room is spacious and not crowded at all, and the bathroom is quite large. The heating in the room is adequate, so you have to lower the temperature when you come in. Breakfast is charged separately, not particularly rich, there are many types of bread but no leafy greens, and coffee is exquisite. There is a free pizza map in the shop, there is a free parking lot, open air but very safe. Drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa in less than ten minutes."
"It is a good hotel in Pisa. The location is not bad. The red line goes directly to the train station. For breakfast, I feel that there is a cup of macchiato, and adding a horn is enough. Hahaha!"
"Still OK. Clean and tidy"

"The breakfast was very good, the parking was very convenient, the room was clean and there was a balcony, it was a very cost-effective hotel in Europe. Walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa for the past 20 minutes, suitable for family trips."
"The attitude is good, the room has a terrace on the first floor and the facilities are old. You can bring a 9-year-old child for free, breakfast is normal, plus a breakfast for 7 euros. More than 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, convenient"
"Hotel facilities are relatively old... The environment is not bad, you can park for free, belonging to the hotel that picks up the tour group. Surprise is that there are many kinds of breakfast, very happy to eat, there is also a Chinese restaurant nearby."

"Definitely not “luxury” but it was clean and comfortable. Seems to be the luck of the draw. Maybe better for couples than families. Downsides: 1. It wasn’t clear which room we were allocated at booking. We emailed & specifically asked for a room with a bath. At first they responded saying we hadn’t been allocated the room with a bath. We thus emailed back asking if we could have a bath as we were travelling with a 1 year old. We chased again & said we would need to change accommodation if this couldn’t be accommodated, but would assume that this could be accommodated unless they advised to the contrary. Upon arrival we were told that this hadn’t been arranged so we were regrettably left having to wash our baby in the sink! They then denied having received our emails - even though they’d responded to one & the emails were all in the same email chain. Their response was a shrug. We took their word for it & got on with it, however. 2. We had prepaid 48 Euros per day for breakfast as the Arts Cafe sounded lovely. However we were told on arrival that the Arts cafe was closed. No explanation was given as to why we were only told upon arrival. We reluctantly therefore agreed to try the apartment’s own breakfast at the same cost. They then proceeded to provide our 1 & 4 year old children with coffee (yes, coffee!!) to drink with their ham sandwich breakfast. 3. We politely declined their breakfast the second day & asked for them to refund the breakfast sum of 48 Euros pre-paid for the second day. They said they couldn’t do so. No explanation as to why. 4.We were allocated the room atop 4 flights of stairs. Not the easiest with a young family and no lift."
"We stayed here on our first and last night of our trip when visiting Florence. We wanted a quick stop in Pisa and felt the hotel looked great in pictures. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the man on reception offered a great review of a local restaurant we really enjoyed. The hotel is very central to the train station and great for sight seeing. The only downside is the hotel is not ‘luxury’ and was quite pricey for what we paid for. We had an issue getting the hot tub to work which was really a selling point of the room but the hotel is not manned at night to get any assistance. We opted for breakfast included on both of the nights we stayed. The first morning the breakfast was fantastic and were blown away by the quality of the food and drinks dropped off to the room. However, on our second check in due to leaving very early in the morning we were given a to go bag which was was not appetising and we felt a bit ripped off for what we had paid for the room."
"We stayed on our first night in Italy having flown into Pisa from California. Clearly we were exhausted and dealing w a bit of jet lag and the Palazzo Cini was exactly what we needed. While the check in experience was a bit lackluster, the room was ready for our early arrival which was greatly appreciated. The room was perfect for our travel weary souls. Walkable to many wonderful restaurants as well as the leaning tower itself. The bed was magical and the luxurious bath and shower did not disappoint. A perfect reprieve. If we travel in and out of Pisa again this will be our first stop."

"We booked Hotel Butterfly through Booking.com several months ago, we were going to see La Boheme, a joint Christmas and 75th birthday treat. Because of a mistake by the hotel-acknowledged in an email by Booking.com we ended up having a standard room for two nights and the Aphrodite suite for the third night of our stay. We flew into Pisa airport and as we were on a budget caught the bus to Torre Del Lago centre at around 1.30pm after a 4.30am start to the day. We guessed it was a bit of a walk to the hotel, there were no taxis around so my husband phoned the hotel and asked if the receptionist could call us a taxi. She told us it was only a 5 minute walk along the road. In fact it was 1.6km and 20 minutes by Google’s reckoning. We had luggage, it was 30 degrees and we were tired, not the best start to our dream weekend. We later discovered a bus went along the street regularly, in fact it passed us. We finally made it, tired and hot and was shown to our room, 104. It was small but had a comfortable bed, big bathroom with a fabulous shower and, most importantly quiet and effective air conditioning. The location of the hotel is perfect, opposite the lake, a few steps away from the Puccini museum and the opera venue. There are hourly boat trips around the lake, we had one of these and felt more relaxed. There is an excellent cafe at the front of the hotel which we enjoyed a lot, friendly service and nice cakes. The hotel restaurant was also excellent with a wonderful view of the lake, we were talked through the menu by the friendly and efficient waiter, the wine waiter was also great, the food delicious. Breakfasts with a limited choice were taken in the restaurant which looked different in the morning, someone has a good eye for design, we liked the shabby chic furniture. Again the waiter was very friendly and efficient. The Aphrodite suite was quirky, once again a comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The hotel seemed to fail when it came to the reception staff, I asked if it would be possible to post a postcard from the hotel, holding it up so the receptionist could see, she had no idea, said the kiosk across the way may be able to post it for me, in fact we discovered a post box there. We had a wonderful few days in Torre Del Lago and spent less than we expected so asked at reception how much a taxi back to Pisa airport would cost. We were told 30 euros so asked her to order us one for the following afternoon. When the taxi arrived he told us 80 euros, very annoying and embarrassing, if we’d known we would have caught the bus back. An upsetting beginning and end to an otherwise great weekend."
"Absolutely loved this restaurant. Perfect location for a meal before the opera. Booked in person on the day and asked in advance to see the menu as I eat gluten free. As soon as we sat down they brought me the most delicious and fresh gluten free bread because they had obviously noted it on the reservation. This rarely happens! There was a great range of gluten free options including desserts. The best meal of the holiday so far even for my gluten eating companions! Not to mention the excellent service and the fantastic location."
"It is difficult to rate anything as low, but circumstances do tolerate such a rating. During this difficult time, when hotels and tourist attractions have reopened, we all need to follow the advice of care and attention to detail. Most hotels have been closed for a painfully long time and, when reopening have adhered to thorough cleaning. Sadly and regrettably, this is not the case for this hotel. Grubby and tired. Not in any sense has there been a deep clean of this place. But the worst part is that the rooms have spas/jacuzzi which of course need even more attention to cleanliness. When booking the hotel and again upon arrival, I did ask if the rooms and spas were thoroughly disinfected, and had the reassurance of the staff and owner. This was not the case, as after slightly overfilling the spa, the jets bubbled and released faeces into a scum around the corner surface. Unfortunately not immediately noticeable...... The 'grime' was at the very top of the spa seal, difficult to see at first, but shocking after. The point is made... However, when asking a member of staff to view both the bathroom and the spa, I was told that I am too fussy in respect of the bathroom and, that the spa problem was 'not there yesterday' Taking a towel and wiping the top edge of the spa, it was easy to demonstrate what had built up - the white towel displayed the colour and degree of the problem. Had there been equal shock/surprise and maybe a little regret from the staff, it might have helped the situation, but this was not forthcoming and really, no additional time could be wasted trying to make this serious point."
