We visited Villa Cortine for lunch with friends and it was a very lack lustre experience from start to finish. The setting was uninspiring with no lake view, unpleasantly hot as the restaurant is sunken down with surrounding hedges meaning no breeze and a large open bbq/fire for cooking giving off lots of heat. The service was poor, with a condescending manner from the main reception and Maitre D', which we attributed to the fact that we were not residents at the hotel and they did not feel we warranted wasting their time on us. The food was at best average (I've had better food down my local pub) with prices that should have reflected a much better standard. Would not consider returning and feel we wasted an afternoon on an overpriced lunch.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel as the service from everyone, including the manager, was amazing. The customer service training was clearly embedded, even the cleaning staff said good morning. The outdoor pool area along with the views of the lake were fantastic. There was a lovely promenade walk at the back of the hotel by the lake, The food at breakfast was outstanding and the bar service was excellent too. A nice touch carrying our drinks to the room of an evening. Drinks costs more here than the local resturants Points to note: The hotel is a 50 min walk from the main town Desenzano. There is a clear path to follow The ferry timetables change in the winter and we didnt get to the north of the lake because of the time it would take on the ferry. The hotel offered one free shuttle bus service to town thereafter its 25 euros Download the Arriva bus time table, the buses are 95% reliable. Bus stops are outside the hotel and are only about 4 euros. Will need cash With hindsight we should of travelled around more and stayed in the nearby cities. From Desenzano station, Verona 30 mins, Venice 90 min, Milan 60 mins. Great Pizza place next to the hotel - Il Lido A n excellent location to see some of the best sights of Italy .

I will be very happy to return every time I need cocktails and relax! Excellent services, excellent kitchen, comfortable rooms.

Have visited twice. Once in May before COVID and in late August this year. The first time I visited it was clear there was something different about this hotel; Set in the most idyllic spot (of one of the busiest and popular Italian locations), they have managed to keep a personalised, family-feel to how they operate and they are 110% committed to customer service. Particular thanks to Nataly, Robert and Omar this year....all the other team members (too many names to remember - sorry). The rooms are modern and clean, the breakfast is amazing. Free tea (with pastries) is offered late afternoon. Whilst they don't have their own restaurant, the building is attached to a very good restaurant and there is no lack of places to eat. The staff will in fact give great advice on where to eat, what time is best etc.

My daughter and I actually had a very nice stay at Lake Garda from 11-14 August at the Hotel Villa del Sogno. Everything in the hotel is excellent. The location, the service, the extremely friendly staff. However, I am only talking about actually because our stay there was negatively affected to the maximum by the laundry service and the subsequent drama! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of taking a newly purchased high-quality (＞ EUR 1,100 plus tailoring costs) light blue-coloured linen suit to the dry cleaners there and not checking the suit immediately after cleaning but simply packing it up and taking it home with me. The next time I tried it on after my holiday, I had a rude awakening: the suit had been washed too hot and was therefore ”destroyed” in terms of colour and size so that much smaller people could now wear it. The ongoing correspondence and clarification as to whether the hotel's own laundry or an external laundry was responsible for this has still not achieved a satisfactory result. Repeated reminders remained unanswered. Actually a very unpleasant development and experience with a hotel that actually has everything to make an unforgettable holiday on Lake Garda possible. Let's see when someone at the hotel gets their act together and takes responsibility and compensates for the damage.

This is quite simply one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The building and setting are stunning. Our room (admittedly after a false start) was on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the lake. Extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast on the terrace was the best start to the day. We had lunch in the gardens twice and enjoyed room service too. Our first night dinner at D****na was excellent. The thing which really made the whole experience, however, was the staff. Without exception they were helpful, friendly, courteous and really went out of their way to make our stay special - at least that’s how we felt. From the wonderful concierge who could work a touch of magic to the doormen, the waiting staff, the head waiters at Dársena and the breakfast room and the poolside attendants constant Trying (and failing!) to chase away the ducks they made us feel welcome and relaxed. Can’t wait to return.
