Plaza Mayor nº 1, La Puebla de Arganzon, Castile and Leon, Spain
"The location is great. Small village, no problem with parking and it is a good location to make short trips around Rioja. Old beautiful building turned into hotel. Decorated with taste. No elevator so be aware that you might need to carry your luggage to the 3rd floor. Room with one double bed had decent size. Decorated nicely. Bed rather hard but big. The bathroom with tube and shower. Towels rather small but ok. Disappointing cleaning service. The bed was made every day the towels changed but ww had to leave trash next to the bin when it was full and not emptied for two days, the floor was covered with dust and hair especially unpleasant in the bathroom with white tiles on the floor so no vacuum cleaning or floor wiping for 3 days. The hotel is quiet inside you don't here sounds from the other rooms. The square where the hotel is located is the main square with restaurant and social live going on long in the night. It is noisy. No air conditioning but then it is not so hot here and we did not need it. Staff does not speak English."
"Beautiful building, tastefully converted and modernised, in a quiet and impeccably clean village. Our family room was perfect: comfortable beds, stylishly decorated, and a great bathroom with walk-in shower. We received a friendly welcome, as did our dog, who was able to stay in our room. We left too early on Christmas Eve to sample breakfast, but the whole stay was very pleasant and I would heartily recommended the venue. A kettle or tea-making facilities in the room would have been the icing on the cake."
"We stayed for one night and were impressed by the high quality of the restoration of this building into a modern and lovely hotel. It was a unique experience to stay in place like this and very comfortable. It's situation is nice too I'm a quiet and pretty village."

Carretera N-I Km. 363, Argomaniz, Basque Country, Spain
"The Parador at Argomaniz is close to Vitoria and well placed near main roads to be a stopping place on any journey to the North coast of Spain or France. It is a renaissance palace with a modern block added for the rooms. These are well maintained and I would say recently refurbished. Our room had a small garden terrace which we could not use as it was pouring rain! Common areas are good and breakfast and lunch were both excellent with lots of local options and all of very good quality. Room temperature control was our only problem."
"This is probably the only Parador in our experience which does not require any introduction. It maintains its overall fine standards on all sides. The room quality, amenities, meals, staff friendliness, quiet location surrounded by green environment, the views. It ticks all the boxes. One feels good being greeted by all staff members and re-welcoming its recurring guests, indulging in a short conversation like how we are and did we have a good trip? "
"A lovely retreat with views over the countryside and lakes. Comfortable accommodation, excellent food and good service from the staff. Plenty of country walks straight from the door and a wonderful ambience in the old part of the building.Perfect if you like peace and quiet."

"The charming El Coto Hotel is a typical Basque country house set in the Júndiz Business Park, 6 km from Vitoria-Gasteiz. It offers free WiFi and free on-site parking. Rooms at the Coto are bright and offer lovely views of the quiet gardens and surrounding countryside. Each one has a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, and heating. Old wooden beams and stone walls combine with contemporary finishes. Each evening you can enjoy the local dishes produced with fresh vegetables from the hotel’s own garden. Packed lunches can be requested and breakfast is served from 07.00. Vitoria-Gasteiz Airport is around 10 km from the hotel. Bilbao is a 45-minute drive away via the AP68 Motorway. La Rioja Alavesa is 40 km from the El Coto."

Calle Elorriaga, 15, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain
"Our last stop-over on our way back to Portugal has been in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and this into the “Hotel Palacio de Elorriaga”. It is a building who has been reconstructed in his more or less original state. The staff is friendly, the place is fine, and the rooms are clean, but very dark due to the small window. The massage shower cabin is not working as it should, there is only one chair and on top of the bill we have a poor insolation, we had during our stay allot of disturbing noise of our neighbours next door and above us, loud speaking, loud with the door, moving chairs, and walking around even during the night, so we did not had a peaceful night of sleep after a long day on the road, this is also due to the education of the people who are staying in the hotel. There is also a restaurant, but by checking the menu list it seems to be on the expensive side. The Private car-park is ok. Than in the morning we had also booked our breakfast, this is served in a nice location of the hotel and in “Buffet form”. But there is a severe problem, and this is that all the products like butter, ham, cheese, fresh orange juice, all the products who need to stay “cool” are not presented on a refrigerated plate or item, there is no air-conditioning in the breakfast location, which means that all the fresh products are in a warm location on the buffet by 07h00 and are staying there until 10h00, this is not as it should be and surely not for a *** stars hotel. We had a Licenced B&B in Portugal and we had to keep every fresh product on the buffet cool. And there is one person of the staff who is doing the night shift, who has to take care of the bar, the breakfast Buffet and the reception in the morning!!! For us this is a place of no return, nice building but in need of a more severe and correct organization."
"Stopped off completely random as was travelling for 5-6 hours from Portugal and long drive ahead back to England. Family run place , beautiful and very friendly especially Portuguese lady who spoke very good english and was extremely helpful. Bar area was fantastic and food ( which we had steak and potatoes)was also a very high standard. Lucky to have found such a beautiful hotel and enjoyed our stay :) "
"Lovely comfortable room... Shower took some working out.. bit out of town..25 minutes walk to centre but easy flat walk..believe bus was 2 euros. Although sorted when asked I would have liked to have seen vegetarian choices on dinner menu. Good breakfast for £6. But the best part was ana on reception.. she did everything from reception, bar, restaurant, tour helper.. she really is an asset to the hotel."

Portal de Castilla, 8, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain
"The Silken Hotel is a good place to stay at if in Vitoria. Next door to the medieval city and cathedral; in the middle of a beautiful promenade linking the old and new city, close to great restaurants and not far from the train station. The rooms are spacious, great bathroom and a view of the main avenue. Nice bar and professional service. Go there!"
"We had a pleasant stay in the hotel. The personnel was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable and were very pleased with the presence of a charge point for our electric car in the parking garage of the hotel. "
"We stayed in a superior room and whilst the decor is a little tired, it had a very comfortable bed and bathroom. The hotel has an attractive open atrium, a great breakfast and wonderfully helpful staff that speak great English"

Avenida de los Huetos, 17, Vitoria, Basque Country, Spain
"When you initially approach the hotel you will probably think it doe not look like a great area, but once you have driven your car (ours was fully loaded on way from the UK) into the secure car park and exit up to reception, you are in a different little world. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful, the owner we think, big smiles all around. There is a nice small garden area with outside bar. The bedrooms are in a separate building and very modern, as mentioned in previous reviews, lots of lovely high quality wood, bed and pillows very comfortable and great powerful shower. I think it would be difficult to get this quality elsewhere in the area for the price paid. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was extremely good,we shared a starter and I had a lovely Sole for my main meal and hubby had suckling lamb which was beautifully cooked and served with a smile. Needless to say the Vino Tinto was an excellent Rioja. We will definitely stay again when travelling to and from Santander/Bilbao to the UK."
"The hotel is in a very quiet area where you can safely park your car in the street or if you prefer, in the parking underneath the hotel. It is very easy to get there from the freeways. The reception is very friendly even as they are servicing the packed restaurant. When you open the door of you room you realize how excellent the amenities are. Everything is high quality, a bottle of water, a pen and a few candies are waiting for you. The room is very nicely decorated (con mucho gusto !) and the bedding is exceptional. The bathroom is beautifully set up in high quality materials, and refined equipments. You are in a five star environment, for sure ! One detail, the air contitioning, once you have understood the remote basic functions, is out of this world : NO NOISE AT ALL !!!... you cannot hear the fan, but it works very well. This is the first time in my long life that I meet such a silent aircon. And all this pleasure is at a very reasonable price;;;; Enjoy !"
"We stayed one night in this hotel and i can really recommend it. Everything was perfect- the room was big enough, the extra bed for my daughter was prepared and the room was very clean and tidy. During check in the guy on the reception was not speaking very well English, but was extremely friendly and explained everything- how to get to city and back. Where to park and where to leave car if not willing to pay extra for a garage place. I think hotel is top and deserves clear recommendation- my family really liked it and would always love to come back for another stay."

Calle Paduleta 59,Parque Industrial Jundiz, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain
"The hotel is near a freeway and 8 minutes to the center of the beautiful city of Vitoria-Gasteiz. It is in a commercial/industrial zone that is very clean and well kept. It has ample parking and a good restaurant across the parking lot. The rooms, with good AC, and bathrooms are large and very clean. The bathtub is a little too high for and elder person to climb inside. The reception people are very nice and helpful. I got there before check-in, and they let me check in right away (But, I belong the IHG Rewards, though). La señorita Naroa, my reception person, was very kind and helpful. Thank you, Naroa! I stayed a total of 4 days in two occasions, in my way to Asturias. Both times a got a great view (back of the hotel) of the surroundings. The breakfast is delicious. Overall, Holiday Inn does not let you down... I will be back, Vitoria. I love your cheese, your Riojano wine, your people, and your beautiful and peaceful streets."
"the reception staff was professional and friendly. the room was very clean, fresh, comfortable and quiet despite the fact that the room was overlooking the main street. the internet connection was good. the hotel fully corresponds to the official description. the brekfast was not specacular but absolutely compliant with the star rating and hotel description. it is clear that the hotel location is in the suburbs, so you will need a car to reach Vitoria. the taxi would cost about 17€. there is enough parking place in front of the hotel. the restaurant is also just 50 meters away. so if the location is acceptable, the hotel is absolutely recommended."
"This hotel is very good — close to the airport, breakfast is served early (great for those with early morning flights), and the room was spacious, modern and clean. The staff was helpful. That fifth star was not given because the room was — for me — overheated with central heating, and with windows locked with a key (which I did not receive at check in). I understand that most travelers may be used to warmer temperatures but for me — coming from Scandinavia where it is common to sleep with open windows even on winter nights — it was stifling. I understand that security concerns limit how much windows can be opened (10 cm), but I wanted that 10 cm crack. Otherwise this is a great hotel option —especially for those with early morning flights."
