Reviews From Real Travelers
The hotel is very well and centrally located at the marina. From there you can reach the city center in just a few minutes on foot and the beach is also in front of the door. As the name of the hotel suggests, the hotel basically consists of 2 types of suites: a marina view suite and the more expensive open sea view suite. For us, the marina was also a beautiful sight and the room is large and spacious. The bathtub next to the bed was honestly one of the reasons I chose this hotel and I have no regrets. The entire complex, from the street to the sea, belongs to the Melia hotel chain and is therefore “shared” with the Spa Hotel Porta Maris. However, care is taken that the breakfast is in a different room than that of the guests of the other hotel. There is also a ”private” exclusive pool for the guests of the Suites del mar. The breakfast is really very good, you have a magnificent view of the sea and through the ”orange machine” you have the freshest orange juice. Nespresso is also available for a good coffee - the other coffee machine for cappucino etc is a shame!! Why is there a machine with coffee and milk powder in such a hotel???? Otherwise everything according to the price. The staff is friendly and speaks good English. Parking garage costs €20 per day/night - that was too much for me, we parked for free in the area and then took a short walk to the hotel.

Stayed here for a week . We had a lovely big suite looking out over the marina which had 2 balconies. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday . The staff were all very friendly especially the blonde girl on reception who gave us good advice on where to visit ( can’t remember her name🙈) breakfast was good and a good choice . We never tried any other food as there were so many restaurants in Alicante to try. If I had to put a mark against the hotel it would be the lack of a fridge . There is a mini bar but it’s full with juice etc . Hotel has 2 nice pool areas but we never used them as we were out all day sightseeing. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back .

In the small street, there is no hotel door, it is not convenient to drive, the garage is very small, the service is average

All right, except rooms that are a little dark and not very well isolated (sound street noise)

Reviews From Real Travelers
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area. The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!! There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need. Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring. The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff. The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins. It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again!

We found this hotel by far superior to others we have stayed in , in Spain . Nicer decor , quiet atmosphere, families there but never noisy while we were there. Mostly staff manage to be cheerful as they go about their work . The beach is just at the end of the hotels driveway . On the other side of the tram line . ( There is a safe crossing place , green light shows) The pool is clean and well maintained. Snack and drinks served beside the pool by friendly young people. Good food - once ate from the restaurant menu and otherwise enjoyed delicious bar meals . Lots of choice of breakfast. We had a superior room and really liked it- nice view of the palm trees and the beach and the sea. Small fridge and kettle. Nice big shower. Room cleaned every day when required. Towels changed regularly and pool towels provided Pity the tv has nothing on English . Nothing - ¡nada ! Would recommend Hotel Almirante .

We choose this hotel because the location and we were not wrong. Located just besides the port and a few minutes away from the beach and the “Passeig Esplanada d’Espanya” were you can find lost of local restaurants. The room was ok with a balcony and wonderful view of the port.

The room is good and there is a balcony with a nice view. It’s a lot to eat when you go out nearby, but be careful with the bunch of restaurants that lie to tourists. There is a small supermarket in the next street. It is a daily necessities for Chinese people to buy. The service is very slow and slow, although it seems to be an effort (?) but it really needs to be improved. And the elevator is the most troublesome thing I remember. I have to wait a long time. Once I waited, I would like to climb the stairs to climb a dozen layers.....
