A lovely, lovely hotel in a great location at the edge of the Ouse estuary. Booked in for one night for a special treat and stayed in The Captains Room. The room was huge with a big comfortable bed, a sofa and armchair as well as a bath - in the room itself!! (additional to the well equipped bathroom and walk in shower) A fantastic view out of the double bay windows too - overlooking the river. It was warm and cosy and the staff, especially the general manager, couldn't have been more helpful. A very relaxed place, unpretentious and of the highest order. Breakfast was top notch - quality ingredients and beautifully cooked and presented. Would highly reccomend Bank House.

My wife and I wished to eat out to celebrate our 62nd wedding anniversary and on a friends recommendation we booked a table for 2 at the Crown Lodge Restaurant in Outwell On entering we were greeted and shown our table I love a decent pint of beer and was not disappointed. They had London Pride on tap Our meal was excellent, served with a smile The only downside was a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc although served in a what we thought a taller glass than usual 175ml 10 Romans BA cost us £7.75 Would we return to dine, most certainly but afraid will not order a glass of wine again London Pride, Oh yes

We visited for a coffee and ending up staying for a breakfast. The food was great and piping hot. All items were fresh and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Service was great and the staff were all very friendly. We would have liked to sit outside but the seating was not out. We will be coming here again.

There was no one to let me in but they were very responsive via text message and, I have to say this, the room and bathroom in particular were just so comfortable. Please don't hesitate to book here! You won't find anywhere better for the price.

Not at all impressed -far to many cakes and no choice of savoury . Only given sandwiches. Sandwiches freshly made but not filled with the best of fillings. Pot of tea was lovely and offered refill. Uneaten cakes put in boxes to take away but too many to eat within recommended time so will be wasted. The manager did ask me to let him know if ok. -well all to much the same type of cake and as mentioned earlier to many. I did say that there was to many to him and suggested smaller size. Didn’t mention lack of savoury choice. Hotel urgently needs make over or closing down and rest rooms didn’t look very clean . The lady serving gave us a code for rest rooms as they wanted them clean for customers - I will say no more. It did put me off eating the food but cups and cutlery very clean or I might have politely left the hotel. Sorry for this poor review but after the struggle to even find the hotel and parking not what we needed. Manager please retire as you mentioned or upgrade your premises and listen to these comments and any others from your customers regular and visitors to your town. Not an area I will want to visit again.
