Attractive at first glance (although smaller bedroom than expected) but as another reviewer has commented it is weirdly overdone. In particular we found the plastic protectors over the mattress and pillows noisy at night and the electronics of the bathroom a bit much. Spotlessly clean however. Good to have netflix and to be reasonably close to art centre & CBD.

The hotel room is small, in the city center. Free parking is available. Every room was given a teddy bear, very cute. It can be taken away for free. The only downside is that it is rude to call the host at 11 o'clock in the morning. I clearly wrote a check-out at 12 o'clock and told me that someone had to check in. . . This is very excessive.

The location is good, right in the city center, you can walk anywhere, there are two supermarkets nearby, train station, octagonal square and other attractions are nearby, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the beds are comfortable.

Fantastic room , central Location, can walk to all the spots in Christchurch. Checkin was fast and easy. Easy to take a cab to airport also. Will definitely stay again. Nice to have the tram stop nearby too. Amenities good w coffee tea provided.

I booked Fable for 10 days as I was running a course in Christchurch. Unfortunately, in transit, I contracted Covid and ended up being in isolation in my room for 7 days. The staff could not have been more helpful, bringing anything I required. They were very patient and gracious.

Great location - close to the airport. Rooms are very clean and well appointed. Very warm and cosy which is important in the winter months. Really quiet too considering it's close proximity to the airport and highway. Lots of restaurants near the airport and quick access to the motorway make this an idea place to stay.

We were a little concerned by the apparent lack of security measures - it would seem that anyone can just wander into the hotel from the busy streets below, or from the attached restaurant/bar. Also concerning was the lack of displayed evacuation/safety information in the room. This is a very regal looking building, standing closely amidst several still to be demolished tall structures the earthquakes have left behind. A little unnerving to look out the windows to this particular vista though. While the beautiful wide hallways and impressive stairway, along with very generously sized suites are brilliant, they still couldn’t hide the fact that this facility is tired. Shame to find on our arrival that some of the hooks in the lounge drapes were missing - didn’t help the tired decor look. Clean, and the beds were divinely comfortable, and did I mention the size of the suites? Fantastic. No room service unfortunately. Staff were very pleasant and so obliging.

Close to the airport, the hotel is run by an old couple. The men are very kind and the women are smarter. Overall it is good, there is no airport feel at all, and no noise is heard. It's also very close to the city, and a UBER is less than 20 yuan. Christchurch is a big country, and there are many budget hotels nearby, all of which are good.

Stayed two nights here. Nice modern studio, well equipped kitchen and good shower. Outside area for sitting (if it hadn’t been so chilly). Free shuttle to the airport and two local buses stop nearby into Christchurch ($4.20)- number 29 and Purple line. Only negative for us was that our front door was onto the car park and we were woken on both mornings by people leaving early and talking loudly outside/ bikers and their bikes.

Very good, very close to the Cathedral Park Avon River, breakfast, warm service, room facilities, cooker and microwave oven can make their own simple meals.
