The Royal Oak Inn, Pook Lane, East Lavant, Chichester, West Sussex, United Kingdom
"Whilst we only stayed one night at the Royal Oak, it will live long in the memory. The particular highlight of our time there was the food, with dinner being absolutely sensational, whilst remaining good value for money. The confit duck bonbons, seabass fillet and whole roasted partridge all disappeared without a trace, and were good sized portions. They were so good, made even more so by the reasonable prices (at least in comparison to London), that I wish I had a proper food column to wax lyrical about them in, rather than just a trip advisor review! The room itself was very lovely, charmingly furnished with a large comfortable bed and plenty of space. The bathroom was also very nice, with a large bath to rest and unwind in. Fresh milk was provided in the fridge upon arrival for tea/coffee, a welcome touch. It would be a bit pricey for us for an extended stay, but as a short getaway/treat, it suited perfectly. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, and seemed to take real joy in people coming to their establishment and having a lovely time. Would strongly recommend."
"We had a good vibe right from the start. An attractive Inn from the outside with a cosy warm ambience inside. Good beers, delicious food (dinner/breakfast) and reasonably priced wine list. Every member of staff we met were very nice and served us with a smile. Our room was clean and perfectly decorated and well equipped. we would definitely be happy to recommend the Royal Oak."
"Not far from Chichester but far enough away to feel out in the countryside. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean. The bar and restaurant area are "older worlde" and atmospheric. The food is delicious, steak cooked to perfection and the eggs Benedict were the best I've had this side of Chicago. "

"We spent an amazing overnight stay in preparation for a wedding. Our daughter, the bride, stayed too and the staff were wonderful. So accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant area the night before and the food was delicious and plentiful. I had a tasty fish pie and my partner the chicken snitzel. The bride to be had a selection of starters which were prepared and cooked and we delivered to her room. All Covid safety precautions were in place. We had the wedding reception here after the service for a party of 7 on 2x tables in a lovely private area curtained off. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all and cost was very competitive. We totally recommend this hotel."
"Visited the area for a very much needed weekend break (due to Covid, we haven't been away very much this year). We did a bit of research re other hotels and restaurants but we liked the look of this hotel. We certainly were not disappointed. Great pub, fab clean and comfy rooms, kingsize bed, tea pigs and coffee making facilities in the room - fresh milk. We booked for evening dinner too which was just fantastic - food was amazing and so was the breakfast. The hotel is nicely situated within walking distance of all the lovely shops. Arundel castle is a must too but you need to pre-book on line."
"This will probably only affect the 1st floor rooms (we stayed in the Harting room) but you can hear the music, especially the bass, quite clearly. This goes on until about 23:30 and starts again at 07:30. I know this is a pub with rooms, but if you are a light sleeper you have no chance. You also can't open the windows, so the room is really warm by morning. The room itself was described as small double, which is doing itself a disservice, really quite large. Nice bathroom and big bed (two single pushed together). The location is great, right in the heart of Arundel, but no parking at the Swan itself, you have to pay at a car park a short walk away. You can pay on the RingGo app, but the car park itself doesn't tell you this, we found out from the hotel info. book in the room. Overall, nice place, but let down by the constant music. "

Goodwood, Chichester, West Sussex, United Kingdom
"As always we experienced quality service and value at Goodwood, staff taking the time to understand why we were visiting (Anniversary) and surprising us with a gift and message in the room, a personal touch that makes such a difference. Dining in Farmer Butcher Chef never fails to deliver, excellent quality food at reasonable prices, good wine selection could not be better. Breakfast is superb in the bar and grill. We will be back very soon."
"Rooms are spacious and unusually have 2 chairs in the room. Large double bed requires a search party to find your partner but very comfortable. As the hotel is constructed as a square around a large grassy central area getting from some rooms to breakfast or dinner is quite a hike. However we were with a group of walkers so it was well within our stride. The Bar and Restaurant was a little clinical but the hotel does have a second restaurant with great looking atmosphere. The location is very grand and the main house is within walking distance."
"Stayed for one night on our travels. The hotel is Mostly aimed at conference/meetings and health spa/golf club users. That said, this is a large and extremely well appointed hotel. The staff were attentive, the rooms spacious and clean. We had an evening meal in the bar/brasserie. The food and service was of a high quality. Breakfast was a choice of a number of cooked meals plus a buffet choice. Not really a hotel for a romantic break, but a high quality experience."

North Street, Chichester, West Sussex, United Kingdom
"A last minute decision to have a local night away to relax, we chose here because we knew it had recently had a refurb and we have walked past it many times when visiting Chichester. A lot of people have commented on the carpark, which is tiny, but the hotel website does state 'limited parking on a first come basis' - the biggest problem is that everyone tries to park there leading to some very inconsiderate paring and we saw one other guest inspecting a massive scratch down the side of his driver's door. It is an old building, over 200 years old, so it has character but this des mean the floor boards creak and the old sash windows did rattle during the night because it was a windy evening. The room was tastefully decorated, I was quite amused that there was a big poster stating 'The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde' as this was written in and about Worthing where I live. The big disappointment with the room was the shower as there was no pressure to the water, so only a dribble, and even at the highest temperature, the water was only warm. We loved the bar and restaurant area, gorgeous colour scheme and artwork on display. Part of the bar area had a colonial feel to it with the shutters and ceiling fans. My favourite architectural feature was the staircase. The staff were all lovely, the reception staff were particularly professional and a credit to the hotel."
"Two night stay in a deluxe double room which was large and light with double aspect windows. Great to have a coffee machine and a kettle, good selection of teas/coffee pods ( but no labelling to say what they were). Fresh milk in the fridge. Good comfy bed , fan and heater provided. Huge fluffy bath sheets.Had no problem parking. Fabulous location. Good breakfast. Lift to all three floors. Niggles: Cheap plastic loo seat. Wardrobe not full length so dresses could not be hung inside. Safe too small to house an iPad. No make up/shaving mirror in the bathroom. Tiny toiletries bottles which were not replaced for the second night and were not enough for two people for two nights. No map or welcome folder in the room. Light shade was ripped ( room 20). We made a telephone booking and all details taken down were incorrect ( name address and email). Unacceptable: ( and we did raise this on check out). It was incredibly dusty in a lot of areas; in the bedroom the top of the fabric headboard was worse and the radiator vents were clogged, also the coffee machine vents were dirty. The door to the housing of the pool equipment in the spa is slatted and also filthy with dust. In the dining room the padded bench seat was stained and dirty. "
"Booked for a girlie weekend and I was a little bit nervous because of Covid but the hotel was great and felt very safe. Friendly staff, lovely room, fab bar with great atmosphere and cocktails . I am Coeliac and was very pleased with the quality and choice of gluten free food for dinner and breakfast. Great location for the centre of Chichester. Only slight negative was finding the car park and it's pretty small an tight to park in."

Shripney Road, Pincode- PO22 9PA, Bognor Regis, United Kingdom, Bersted, West Sussex, United Kingdom
"Although only a couple of miles from Bognor, the location is quite remote, nothing else around other than the pub attached. The hotel was ok, the room little tired, especially the bathroom, however it was clean and tidy. A lack of air conditioning was ok this time but might stop a visit in the summer. The fourth bed provided in the family room was rock hard. The pub next door looks ok however the staff (with the exception of the elder barman) were quite rude and abrasive and advised if all we wanted were desserts that we would need to sit in the bar (of which there are not an adequate enough seating). They would not allow us in the restaurant area even though we wanted to eat something on their advertised menu and even though it was half empty. "
"Hotel clean and comfortable with lots of parking. Staff were friendly. Only down side is lack of phone signal here but good excuse to switch off and relax. Restaurant ok but overpriced for the standard of food. Rooms are a good size and clean although we did find a few hairs still in the bathroom.. other than that was clean and comfortable. "
"This Premier Inn is a lovely place to stay. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The pub/ restaurant is attached so no going outside to eat or drink. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the food is good, the bar is reasonably priced. All in all, a lovely place to stay"

Clyde Road, Felpham, West Sussex, United Kingdom
"First of all, I must apologise to the hotel and her staff that this review is very late. I was supposed to have been written the first time we visited the hotel but for some reason was overlooked. We had visited Bognor last December because we wanted to have a look around, but more specifically to visit Littlehampton. Although the hotel had been warm and welcoming and the staff lovely, the weather was unkind to us and we barely managed to get out of the door, it was so cold and windy. However, as it turned out, they were running a very special offer for the following March so we decided to rebook and try again. At a price of £244 for B&B for four nights for the two of us, it was impossible to resist. As it turns out this could be our last holiday for some time as it looks as though we might be incarcerated by the government for the next four months! On the Monday morning I dropped Jean off at her hairdressers for the weekly wash and blow dry whilst I went and filled the car with petrol. Once I had picked up “she who must be obeyed”, we were off. It was a lovely drive in glorious sunshine. We took our time and stopped for lunch at the Rownhams Services. The coffee and sandwiches from Costa went down well. From Poole it is a pleasant drive to Bognor, especially once one has left the M27 for the A27. We arrived a little before check-in time but as usual with Best Western hotels this was not a problem. We had been upgraded to one of their better rooms and we found it to be very much to our liking. Very comfortable beds, a large walk in shower and a lovely sea view. Once unpacked we went out again for a walk along the promenade. The sun was shining, the wind was not too bad and we were at peace with the world. Breakfast at the Beachcroft has been changed a little to make things safer during these problematic times. The tables have been rearranged so that every person has their 6ft of separation. The cereal and fruit buffet has been discontinued for obvious reasons and the breakfast “starters” are now served to order. Jean ordered the fresh fruit salad and I ordered the stewed fruit compote. Jean followed with the full English of fried egg, fried bread, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, beans, grilled ½ tomato and hash brown. I was just a little better as I had scrambled eggs and did not have the tomato or hash brown! The fruits were excellent. A nice mixture of fresh fruits in a large bowl were placed in front of Jean. In my bowl were poached apple, peach, apricot, pear and prunes. It was a huge portion but I managed to beat it. The cooked food was perfect. Eggs cooked just how we like them, fried bread crisp but not hard, a very tasty sausage and an excellent rasher of grilled bacon. A rack of brown toast and pots of tea and coffee completed our feast. The breakfasts each day, although we rang the changes with such things as kippers, poached eggs and vegetarian breakfast, were just as good. Well prepared and presented, generous proportions "
"Thankfully this break was booked before the madness that is now occurring. After following the brown tourist signs with the hotels name on and not expecting it to be at the end of a small cul-de-sac we knew immediately it was a good place to stay, Adjacent to the beach and promenade the fresh clean appearance and parking bays set out to the front giving ample space for even the largest 4x4. Enter into a clean and bright reception where Tom gave us a warm welcome and efficient service throughout our stay. A lovely clean bright room with an excellent large power shower en-suite albeit after quite a climb that would not be to everyone's liking. Dinner and breakfast gave us excellent choices with food cooked to perfection, care taken with presentation and hot food served on piping hot plates.(Always a good sign in my book). Restaurant staff were always attentive without fussing and Louis our ever present waiter was always on hand whenever required. Would certainly recommend this hotel to others and I just hope the business can pull through this plague that has beset us all as we definitely want to return."
"my brother who is living with MS and uses an electric wheelchair stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were so helpful from the initial call right through to check out! when I say the whole staff team I mean just, maintenance man measured doorways, reception showed me the room before booking and worked out how to move furniture to maximise space.Reception staff were so helpful when my brothers chair broke down finding numbers and generally supporting us special Thank you to Dominic who came to our rescue even before he knew we had booked a room there He came outside to assist us when the chair broke down up on the seafront and went above and beyond Thank you what a lovely team! Although the Hotel is not adapted for wheelchair users they helped us make the stay work a little adaptation would make it a perfect place."
