"We stayed at the JW Marriott in Edmonton overnight on October 31, 2020. Having been frequent travellers as a family over the years, we have stayed in Marriott properties all over North America, Europe and Asia. It was an amazing experience to stay at a hotel local to our home town which had the feel of a world class hotel. Right from check-in, we experienced friendly, thoughtful service from Waseem. With our lifetime Titanium Elite status and suite upgrade certificate, we still appreciated the upgraded suite and the next day late check-out. When we told the check-in team that we were staying at the hotel to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday, they happily said that there will be a little surprise. We went up to our beautiful suite, which was beautifully appointed and very spacious. The bathroom itself exuded luxury which we have not found in any other hotel in Edmonton so far. My wife said she even appreciated the art in our room, which included something from a local artist depicting the North Saskatchewan river in a creative way; she thought it was special for the hotel to show off a bit of Edmonton. In a short time, a beautiful tray of yogurt parfait, fresh fruit, and a delicious slice of cake was delivered to us, with a special, hand-written card (by Aryan) for our daughter, wishing her a Happy Birthday. She was so thrilled with this gesture, and this marked nicely the beginning of her birthday celebrations. We were excited to participate in a Paint Night at the hotel that evening, which included an Art Tour led by a very knowledgeable Chef Concierge Kyle. Our family was WOWed by this facility in so many ways. Such thoughtful design from the art hanging on the wall, to the shape of the lobby, to echoes of Edmonton’s hockey greats in various public spaces, to beautiful living wall enclaves. And the fitness center!! Extremely spacious with state of the art equipment. Kudos to the design team for this facility for incorporating local flavor and “ice district” highlights in so many beautiful ways. We were in and out of the hotel throughout the stay and every time, greeted enthusiastically from each member of the staff that we walked pass. Chats with Waseem, Aryan and Kyle, comparing notes on various properties around the world, and even sharing bits about our families made this hotel stay unlike any other, so personable and welcoming in every way. This is a hotel that we will definitely return to whenever we want to take future Stay-cations. In fact, we have already recommended this hotel to friends and family. Thank you so much, JW Marriott Edmonton team. You gave us a memorable, fantastic stay."
"We usually don't stay at places like this, but having the points to redeem for a night, we decided to splurge and stay here, as our primary focus for that evening was going to the Chiefs-Oil Kings game that night. From the moment we pulled up to park, the service was outstanding. The valet was friendly and helpful, and even offered a choice of small stuffies for my daughter to choose one from and keep. Check in was quick and easy, luggage was delivered to our room quickly, and the room was beautiful and clean. We had a two queen basic room. The location across from Rogers Place was ideal. You don't have to go outside to get to Rogers Place, the community rink, or the Grand Villa Casino. There's also access to a light rail station through the skyway. The pool area was beautiful and clean. The windows and the natural light are great in the pool area. I enjoyed walking in the meeting/banquet room area, seeing rooms named after former Oilers and seeing the pictures on the walls. The bubble hockey game was an added bonus. I liked that the concierge had both Edmonton and national newspapers, along with brochures and guides for tourists. We order room service after the hockey game and the food was good and the service was friendly and welcoming. I am disappointed we didn't try the flavored ice, maybe next time. Check out was easy, the valet retrieved our car quickly, and we were out of there in minutes. I also got to run into Four Broncos Memorial Trophy winner Adam Beckman in the elevator, so that was pretty cool, too, along with Chiefs teammate Eli Zummack. They were the reason for the trip, so it was cool to see that they got to stay there, too. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to an event at Rogers Place. Maybe the best 40,000 points I've ever used on a hotel room."
"Hotel is the best in Edmonton However; if you eat plant based the food is disappointing. Their needs to be more plant based food on the menus...It is very annoying to stay at a luxury hotel and then have to order out to get good plant based food. There is LITERALLY NOTHING plant based on the menu in the lobby! I think it is so hypocritical to say they are "Green" and "Environmental" (not that these are really important to me) But then almost all they serve is meat in the restaurants here. Also I ordered one of there most expensive bottles of red wine and they opened it and poured it in front of me and it was really cold! I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew they serve it cold, I'm not interested in drinking COLD red wine ....They should mention to you that the wine is cold before they open the bottle and serve it to you. If you like plant based food you should talk to the hotel in advance before you book and make sure they can serve you good plant based food as they told me that he restaurants and not run by the Marriott but by a separate company.. they seemed apologetic about it but still was difficult to eat plant based. I cant imagine them staying this way as the hotel is new and they seem to be stuck in the cave man stone age so hopefully by the time you are reading this they will have drastically changed all of the menus."

"Overpriced due to the location in West Edmonton mall. Parking is awkward & mostly unavailable at this time of the year so using the valet is a good idea. Absolute mayhem in the lobby and after a lengthy wait there wasn’t even a welcome or hello. It was very noisy & hard to hear or make out what the front desk clerk was saying especially with such a thick accent. People lined up all over the place & frustration ensued with line jumpers. No facilities to speak of as most are at the mall for a cost. We did not have a fantasy room & were located in the “Western” section where the room doors had horses in their stables. The housekeeping staff are very polite & helpful and the room albeit showing it’s age, was spotless. The rooms were quiet, beds are extremely comfortable, great to have a fridge & coffee maker as well. Lighting is awkward and not many outlets for charging. Great checkout time of 1200. Definitely need some updating."

"The location is very good. It's in the west mall, downstairs is the shopping mall. We stayed here for three days, and almost didn't go out of the west mall. The children went back upstairs to rest after playing in the water world. After shopping, they went back to the room and rested. Shopping is particularly convenient. There is no breakfast. There is a big Tonghua in the mall. It is very convenient to eat. PS: Check in at the hotel to buy tickets for water parks and playgrounds."

"Breakfast is $ 31 / person, and the restaurant service for dinner is good, but the taste is really average. An old store with a long history, the price is very close to the people at Fairmont level, the temperature of the pool is very good, it is recommended to try"
"Very comfortable, you can park on the side of the road or the parking lot opposite this night to save 50 yuan hotel parking fee. The hotel is in the city center, but downtown Edmonton is actually desolate Hahaha"
"The breakfast was good, the variety was small, but like the main course, dessert, fruit, yogurt, bread, the room was clean. Behind the hotel is a river with a nice view."

"Once again, the location is good, that is, the square is now being repaired, and the surrounding roads are not so good. His bed is awesome, that is the feeling of sleeping and not wanting to get up."
"The 19th floor of the front desk, the view is really good"
"Very good choice"

"You can’t be the service and accommodation at this hotel. From our phone call to make reservations, Jesse went to the extra effort to be kind and compassionate to our needs and remained the same during what ended up being 30 days. All of the front desk staff, the cleaning ladies, the maintenance man, the waitresses all ensured that our needs were tended to without hesitation, not to mention the manager who took the time to talk to us and help us out. They all helped us through a very difficult time and we will never forget any of them."
"The rooms are newly renovated and are crazy cozy! There is a lounge area, that has many local craft beers on the menu, above the Tim Hortons restaurant. There is also a large mall(Kingsway) right across the street! Very close to Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (N.A.I.T) campus. 2 blocks from a major hospital (Royal Alex). This hotel centralized in the city with access to most, if not all amenities. "
"There is nothing bad I can say for this hotel, I guess the only thing I would complain about is, the main door. Reason when it rains the back doors do not have any type of cover from the rain, they lock the main doors and won't let us use it to habe a smoke. Othet then that over all it's a hotel you will like, the staff are all very courtious and professional."

"My husband and I stayed for just one night coming from out of town. We had a spacious room on the 6th floor with king bed and large bathroom. Pillowtop mattress was awesome and we slept well. The top floor was quiet, we did not hear anyone, even though the hotel was busy. Hence, we had to park a little ways off the main entrance which was not ideal, but found a side door that provided access closer to the car. Our stay included a hot breakfast (for $95.00/night- great value) and the buffet had plenty to choose from including fresh fruit, cereals, various breads and hot breakfast foods. The staff was very courteous and helpful making sure we had everything we needed during breakfast."
"We stay here when we come to Edmonton for hockey games or shopping. The location is excellent to the South Edmonton Common shopping and only about 20 minutes to go downtown for a hockey game. The room was spacious with a separate seating area with coffee and a fridge. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast area is clean and the food is substantial. The person working the breakfast is friendly to everyone and very helpful. The hotel is very affordable and the parking is great."
"Friendly staff. Stayed 5 nights for business in area. Hotel is very close to South Common - but the location of hotel makes it awkward to get in and out of easily. When traffic is busy it's much worse - which is often in this area. Room was ok. Clean. But not quiet. Traffic is so loud in this area of city- always sirens and traffic noise. Used room fan to drown it out but fan is loud and annoying too. Wifi was very sketchy - sometimes ok - sometimes terrible & no connection. Ended up using my 3G at least half the time. Breakfast was adequate in mornings to get you started for your day - but busy. Overall I would NOT stay at this location again - the location was just not easy to access and it's too busy in that part of city for this small town girl."

"The suite breakfast is on the 3rd floor and can be delivered to the room before 2 o’clock. Parking is very convenient. There are stadiums nearby, you can go to the concert. The subway bus is very convenient. There are very few pedestrians at night. Many shops close at 3 or 6 in the afternoon. There are bars and entertainment facilities that open at 6 in the evening, and ordinary people seldom go there."

"Now, this is a hotel where you can be at ease and relax without pretentious expectations from other guests or staff. Kindness and courtesy, genuine concern and thoughtfulness were extended to us. The elaborate open lobby was a bit unwelcoming as the ceiling towered above and the friendly faces at the desk were barely visible from the entryway. The entry mat was worn, maybe from wheelchairs and walking sticks as we realized that many occupants were really here to find some respite and healing. The place was a bit worn out in spots with nicks in the solid wood furnishings and faded cabinets. Yet we could overlook its flaws as the food was hot and wholesome and the room was clean with perfectly tucked corners on our bed: even on the second night. We visit hotels often and prefer a high end hotel. This property meets our expectations with the surprise of crown moldings, the gallery of historical photos along the corridors and a genuine display of hospitality from the staff. Well done!"
"Hotel checkin was awesome..the restaurant I have to say was ok but the fans where very dirty. Looked like they have not been cleaned in quite some time ..otherwise great food and a nice place to stay.."
"Stayed here last night, hotel is starting to look worn ,carpets need a good cleaning , elevator was quite dirty, bathrooms need a paint ,beds and pillows comfy, staff pleasant, breakfast was ok. Good location . Overall it seems a low grade hotel and needs a really good cleaning"

"Breakfast is a typical continental breakfast, but there are a wide range of fruits, dairy products and bread. The reception is very friendly and valet parking is very convenient. It is very close to Albert University Hospital and within walking distance."
"The service is not bad. The room type of this hotel is not very square. Some people may care that there is no parking space. The keys will be given to the waiter every day. They will help you to stop at some distances. When you use the car, you will be greeted in advance. Give you a fifteen day off the stairs"
"The location of the hotel is very good, close to the University of Alberta in the city, but the facilities are old compared to the price, it is not convenient to park, and it is convenient to use public transportation, nearby bars, supermarkets, restaurants and shops."
