"I had really high hopes for this place. The photos looked great, really modern and luxurious. The reality fell somewhat short. The rooms are reasonable but it’s not luxurious by any stretch - we had a junior suite and a family member had a more basic room, but really the difference was that our room felt a bit larger but rather sparse - apart from a “pouf” at the end of the bed, there wasn’t any extra furniture to justify the higher price for a suite so the room felt empty. Still the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good. The service was inconsistent and fell short of expectation. Some front desk staff were very friendly, others were not. The breakfast was an exercise in frustration. Only one person takes the orders and he is often in and out of the kitchen and hard to track down. The other 3 waiters are busy serving but they won’t take orders. The system seems pretty ineffective - they should really change it. Every morning was a wait to place a coffee and eggs order - one morning it took close to 25 minutes which is frustrating when you are keen to get out for a day of sightseeing. The wifi, as other reviewers have noted, I’d terrible. It didn’t work at all for 3 days of our trip. The good points - location is nice and quiet. About 10 minutes to the station and less to town. Montecatini itself is a great town and well situated to explore Tuscany, Florence, Pisa. We parked outside - a couple of days it was very full so we had to park maybe 500 meters away, but other days it was fine and we could find a spot outside. One of the front desk staff who was friendly helped us pay for street parking online and then we just placed the printed voucher on our dash. They also will register your number plate so you can enter the ZTL and not be fined. The restaurant was also quite good. Breakfast was above average (long waits aside) and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. Overall, it was a reasonable stay but fell short of expectations based on the price we paid. "
"We drove to the hotel. There is parking for clients however because the hotel is in a neighborhood, when you arrive, pull up to the front and let them know you arrived so they can get you a spot or call as you arrive. They will assist you from the car to the room (took 15 minutes total time). The hotel also caters to group tours. The junior suite king bed room was so very spacious with the colors of white and black modern feel with a very large bathroom. Pool deck on top floor with a bar. The staff was very friendly and were available 24/7. For a LHP property, I felt as if it met the standards of a European preferred hotel."
"My wife and I returned to this hotel after a nice 3-day visit in 2018. The hotel is clean, the breakfast is very nice, the young lady who works the breakfast room is awesome, and the cleaning staff is very kind. However, on the morning after the first day of our 3-day stay in a junior suite with spa access I spoke with the woman who checked us in and told her we needed to cut our stay short by a day to return home for a family matter. She said she’d have to speak with her manager because they require a 72-hour notice for a cancellation. I asked her to make sure she told the manager that we were returning customers and members of the hotel chain’s loyalty program, and she assured me she would. Several hours later I asked her if she spoke with the manager and she said he wasn’t available so she emailed him. I thought that was an odd response but I remained optimistic. Later that afternoon I again asked her if I would be able to leave the following morning without the $180 euro penalty and she said she still didn’t know but she’d call me as soon as she had an answer. She went off duty that evening and there was a different person at the desk the next day. I never heard from anyone. Since when is a manager only available by email? Why couldn’t she simply call him? Obviously a 48-hour notice was insufficient to avoid a penalty, even if you’re a returning customer. The woman who checked us in and gave us the runaround was dark-haired and spoke with an accent that sounded like Russian or Ukrainian. She lied to my face and for that reason my wife and I will never return to this hotel. There are many other hotels in Montecatini Terme!"

"Spent a week at this hotel as part of an organised tour and in no way did it live up to a 4 star rating. Our first room was very small, dark, dated furniture no real space for clothes and only one standard size electrical socket.Air con did not work either. Having asked for another room we had the choice of two other rooms.Neither was a real improvement on the first. We eventually accepted one on the basis that it had a slightly bigger bathroom and one window had clear glass rather than the orange tinged glass in the first. It was still impossible to open the door fully as it caught on the bed, still no space for clothes and still only one socket.Later that evening when putting an adapter in the socket there was a loud flash and the plug arched across the socket plate. This did not cause any reaction from the desk clerk who came to reset the fuse board apart from saying" were you trying to charge your phone". In the 1980s this hotel would have been very acceptable but an obvious lack of investment means it is in a time warp reflected in the defective electrical wiring decor etc.On two occassions we found a beetle in the bathroom .The restaurant is in the basement and the standard of food was unacceptable. We had to order the day before ,with very little choice and really bland food. On the first night we had a small bowl of pasta with tomato sauce, one boiled chicken leg and a small potato ,desert was a slice of pineapple with a scoop of ice cream. I have had many visits to Italy and never came across such a low standard restaurant . You do not expect to come to Tuscany and eat this type of food in a basement canteen. Needless to say we ate out every other night and had some wonderful Italian food. It would appear that this hotel is used for groups on tour staying only 1- 2 nights as this is what we saw when there. It did appear that the food was taken in from outside. There is a roof top terrace which had some plastic loungers most of them broken and no real shade , cigarette butts were in each corner making it even less welcome. There is no swimming pool but were told we could use the hotel pool next door if we bought drinks or food at that hotel. Their is a small bar in reception which requires the desk clerk to come over to serve you. We were told to "enjoy the the fabulous facilities of the hotel while there", these were nonexistent. It is more reminiscent of a 2 star B&B. We did expect Basil Fawlty to turn up some evening as it was so like Fawlty Towers.albeit over 20 years after it was topical. The only positive here is that it is centrally located but so are many better hotels which we checked out to see if this was the standard for this area."
"Our room was lovely. Spacious and clean. Over the side street so it was quiet. Beside the elevator on the fourth floor. The hotel location is great. On a side street but a short walk from everywhere. Nice safe area. Hairdressers that were reasonably priced very near. TripAdvisor local restaurants. Lots of very good food within a short distance. Trottaire Toscana a two minute walk. It’s excellent. The hotel common areas are very comfortable. Inside and out. The roof terrace is great for an early morning read. The staff are very nice. In particular Sarah on reception and the cleaning staff. The restaurant is in the lowest floor. Pictures reflect it accurately. The food was fresh and plentiful. True Italian food is plainer than our Irish ☘️ representations of it. So some of our companions were disappointed that their expectations were not met. I think this was just a cultural misunderstanding on our behalf. Restaurants in the area do an amazing T bone steak 🥩 served rare, don’t miss out on this opportunity to troll your taste buds. We enjoyed our stay. Mosquito 🦟 are the worst, remember to bring lots of chemicals to deter this blood hungry beasts while in this area. "
"Stayed for one week as base for a tour of Tuscany. Room was comfortable & clean. Very firm bed and gave great nights sleep after busy days out sightseeing. Slight niggle that there was no storage, even to put wash bags in a very spacious showroom. Several plug points and although at front of hotel on busy street the shutters cut out any street noise. As other reviews point out, the restaurant is in a windowless basement! Breakfast has selection of cooked or continental and provided good start to the day. The evening meal was much more basic and repetitive, (ok if you like pork). I have never hade beef cut so thin before, one evening my partner was severe 3 slices of cheese as a main dish? Strange how on the last two evenings there was a marked improvement, we even had a single scope of ice cream. General concensous was that a new chef had been brought in. Overall, good hotel with great friendly waiting staff, (especially Anna who always had a smile), and helpful receptionists. Good opportunity to go b&b then eat out in evenings."

"Firstly we are disappointed to be prompted to write such a bad review for the first time in 30 years of travelling. We are struggling to understand how this hotel and the service provided could be deemed worthy of anything more than 3 stars and we don’t consider ourselves to be the complaining type. This hotel had obviously once been grand and is on first glance an impressive space but on closer inspection it is extremely tired and unloved which is a shame as it could be lovely. It is in need of serious refurbishment and updating and the staff are definitely in need of some kind of motivational training. From the off there was no feeling of being welcomed by staff. Unfortunately this feeling continued with the rooms which were so badly in need of updating that there were black stains all around the walls and ceiling. There were no tea and coffee making facilities and when we questioned the staff at reception they reluctantly told us they would arrange this. On our return to our room we found they had merely provided a kettle and 2 cups only! We have always had at least one complimentary bottle of water provided in hotels we have visited but the hotel charged us €10 for 2 bottles of water on request from the bar. We were woken up at least 2-3 times every night by the sound of recycled bottles being emptied into a bin outside - to be fair we were not sure if this was the hotel staff or another local establishment but it did not make for a peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast! Customer service here struggled to reach 3* standard and that was matched by the quality of food on offer. Despite the fact we were often only one of a handful of tables being occupied at breakfast at any one time and staff were not rushed off their feet, we were often ignored and always had to ask someone for coffee. Breakfast was exactly the same offering every day with no rotation of items on offer. We were looking forward to relaxing in the spa facilities but the whole area had a feeling of being unclean and the two massage shower cubicles and all of the massage relaxing beds were not working during our visit. Another guest told us staff had advised they were broken. The overall customer service here was almost non-existent in our experience but the exception to this was the delightful Alessandra who was pleasant and helpful. Sadly we would not return and would not recommend this hotel to others."
"Our second visit, this time with family and grand children. Upgraded to a very large suit with was lovely but the aircon had difficulty in keeping it cool. It was quit dark in side due to a huge tree blocking the light to the windows but had the most luxurious bathroom with a double person bath, we have ever had ! Service excellent with some reception staff speaking English. One criticism for a 5 Star hotel no complimentary was provided in the room Breakfast was typical Italian quite acceptable Pool unheated, cleaned and checked regularly and refreshing kids loved it. Pool bar and restaurant pricey, which encouraged a 5 minute walk into town for lunch."
"We experienced excellent customer service from the front desk staff from the moment we checked in to the day we checked out. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room to find that we were upgraded to a suite. Needless to say, we loved our room! Wait staff in both the evening dining room and the breakfast location were very attentive and courteous. Employees in the Spa were very welcoming and knowledgeable so it was easy to book our couples massage and to use areas of the Spa on our own. All our needs were met at this hotel.....highly recommend it!"

"Pistoia is a little hidden gem in Tuscany. A medieval town with an amazing history. Pistoia cater for local people and Italians, not many foreigners visit Pistoia, so the food here is wonderful and authentic as well as being reasonably priced. Hotel Patria is very well located in the centre of the town. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Decent sized bathrooms too. A simple but very good Italian breakfast. A comfortable sitting area and a bar. Staff here were wonderful, friendly and most helpful."
"Upon arriving we were very well received by Hilario who was on reception. However during our 5 nights stay we found that all the staff were friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was large and very clean. The bathroom was a very good size too and in there was a large shower and there were two wash basins. Breakfast had a good choice for everyone’s taste. Coffee was great. This is very important to some of us English too."
"The nicest , most friendly hotel in Pistoia! Staff are fabulous, wonderfully friendly and always there to please ! Rooms are very very well appointed and elegant! I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!"

"A medium size, friendly independent hotel with a lovely ambiance. Excellent check in process, we were given the option of communicating rooms with the children, rather than the two rooms we had booked - we lost our balcony (sad face), but communicating rooms was a more expensive option that we were not charged for. Also offered parking within the blue zones for 4E per day, good value and hassle free parking. The staff work hard, saw the breakfast team leaving at midnight and back the next morning, but they were always happy to help. The hotel itself is beautiful, its recently been renovated with some care. Good standard of rooms, but the shared areas and the dining areas are quite beautiful. Location is excellent, walk to great restaurants bars and the train station etc. As well as the Terme’s. If you have a car dine at Al Bivio - try the steak. Beds - super comfy, great aircon, the water pressure is high so the walk in showers are fantastic. Buffet breakfast was good enough - if you’re in the higher grade rooms you have a separate dining area. Sitting outside on the terraced hotel from with waiter bar service is an excellent post dinner opportunity. Pool area was clean with waiter service (the perfect place for an Aperol)The only slight negative was number of pool sun loungers was too few, and a couple of people thought it was appropriate to “book” them by placing towels on them, then disappearing. Global problem and not worth dropping my five star rating. "
"We have just completed a one week stay here at Francia e Quirinale and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore the major cities and attractions of Tuscany. The hotel has a very stylish Italian decor, has a lovely outside pool and sun bathing area and is very well located in Monticatini for easy reach to the train station for travelling to Lucca, Florence and Viareggio. San Ginminano is 1 hour by car and Siena is 1 hour 40 minutes. A day at the beach at either Forti di Marmi or Viareggio is only 45 minutes away. The staff here at the hotel are so nice and friendly- they really do look after you and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need. Thank you to Roberto, Katie, Serena, Luigia and Simone for making our stay so enjoyable and personable. You are a credit to the hotel."
"Our group was fortunate too spend seven nights in this lovely hotel. We were on the fifth floor and had a very nice room with french doors that opened out to the town. If you shudder at being across from an abandoned hotel with a disgusting sludge in a swimming pool, ask not to have that view. The biggest problem is no coffee in the room or available anywhere until breakfast opens and no iron. Also the pillows are rocks. The bathroom was very nice and oddly had nice linen hand towels - I hated to mess them up. The staff throughout the hotel is amazing. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the service superb and the food in the evening was truly awesome. The sitting areas are elegant and refined. The bar area is amazing and lots of fun with a good selection of local wines."

"I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights while on our trip thru tuscany check in was very easy and quick- we stayed in the tower dependence with lots of stairs so if you cant do lots of stairs including your luggage I suggest to not book that room. The room however has a beautiful view overlooking the hills. its very spacious and clean. Cleaning supplies were left in our bathroom which I thought was a bit strange but otherwise everything was nice and soap and some shampoo is provided. There is a kitchenette available as well, no kettle unfortunately. I didnt actually realize when booking the place that they didnt have a restaurant as it looked like they did based on their pictures and seeing as they offer this location as a wedding location as well. So for dinner you either have to cook yourself or go out to places nearby. Breakfast is nice and eggs and bacon are made fresh to order which is very nice compared to luke warm scrambled eggs sitting on a buffet. The breakfast room is quaint, maybe some music would make it a bit more enjoyable. the pool area is beautiful and very clean. the pool actually being quite large and also lots of lounge chairs. We didnt see towels anywhere so we took ones from our room.. towels didnt really get replaced thruout our stay- this would have been nice to have. The staff is very friendly and full of suggestions of where to eat and go. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again if we traveled with a larger group and once their restaurant is open. The winery Casalbosco is excellent as well and we had a wine tasting there which was complimentary with our stay. Very interesting and lots of information and very good wine and vin santo. great value and great to take back home with you! Will definitely be ordering more when we get back. Thank you again"
"We stayed here for one night on our way to Florence. This hotel is located in very beautiful place on the top of the hill. It has great view to surroundings including Florence. Easy to find. Property has cool water pool which worked overnight (even if it was written, that it will be closed at 8pm). It has very convenient and big rooms. Convenient check in (we came late, when personnel left the hotel, however they left us keys from apartment). Cozy space for eating both inside the room and outside it. Calm and quiet atmosphere. Winery in the walking distance with not-so-bad wine. As for downside... It provides hugely expensive breakfast. There were a lot of mosquito around. We tried to have dinner outside, but were forced to go home and close all windows against mosquito. Right next to the hotel there is an abandoned house which looks exactly like in horror movies. My kids were afraid of it. Anyway we loved our stay there and would love to come back at some point"
"Booked with their site a classic room. Site states minibar in room etc. Monolocale was also available and at a cheaper price but we opted for what we believed would give a little more service. So after waiting for someone to arrive... Be clear there us only someone in reception at very specific hours and after that there is no one.. We were taken to our room. Simple small... A bit smelly... But after I opebef windows and threw out the dirty baby diaper from the bathroom it improved. No minibar to be found. Went to reception who explained to me that I was wrong. I showed her my printed info from their site... She still explained how I was wrong and stated "we are not a hotel we only do apartments." Well silly me that prepaid to get a super discounted rated of 113 plus euro instead of the 85 euro for a monolocale because I thought there was more service. My advice... Positive for view. Pool fine but all seats were taken...with towels not with people. But quality price is not there. In fact we are staying in another attached place this evening that we rechecked in person and price is lower with better accommodations. So maybe for a week stay with lots of young kids (who were the most common guests at Casalbosco that we met) you can get a cheap price and since three is Noone around you xan party all night at the pool."

"My wife Jane and I enjoyed this lovely unpretentious family hotel which is centrally located within easy walking distance of many local attractions and facilities. The hotel is spotlessly clean offering room, bar and restaurant. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful with most having a good grasp of English thus making up for our poor Italian. They are a credit to the hotel’s reputation, bravo! The king size bed was very comfortable. En-suite facilities are modern and clean with lashings of hot water. The continental breakfast offers a wide selection on a self service basis. Evening meals are excellent being of high quality, delicious and presented beautifully. Well done Hotel Puccini, thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Jim & Jane.More"
"We stayed at Hotel Puccini in Montecatini Terme in May and it was awesome. Everything in Hotel Puccini was custom-made. We couldn't ask better or for more. They were very helpful with every request. They suggested to eat at least one night at their restaurant and, as always, they were correct: food was delicious and the waiters were super friendly. When we checked out everybody came to say goodbye. It was such a moment, my wife got emotional and then everybody there. We love you, guys. Monica and Chandler Dupree P.S.: Can't wait to hear the music in the elevator again and again."
"We were here at the Hotel Puccini for our one week stay and my wife and I were completely outstanded by this fantastic family run hotel. Patricia and Pascal made us feel like home. Breakfast was nice and clean and there was everything: from eggs and bacon to corn flakes and croissant and everything was fresh and warm. Thanks Marco and Rosa to made us taste the best cappuccino ever. Last but not least, a warm thanks to the ladies who perfectly cleaned our room and a hug to the reception staff who was so helpful and smiley. See you on our next trip to Tuscany We are already planning. ❤"
