The location of the hotel is easy to find and the environment is also good. The little brother at the front desk was very enthusiastic. When I found that the room could not be opened, he immediately called someone to help me solve the problem. The breakfast packaged by the hotel is self-service and you can eat very full. Next to it is Egypt University, only five minutes away from the hotel, adjacent to the national forest park, the air is fresh and pleasant.

A nice hotel with good environment and fresh air, convenient for students and parents to live here, it is quiet and is a good choice

I just wanted to thank you for such a positive experience that I had at your establishment yesterday evening. (01/06/2023) I arrived with my mum, the staff at the initial reception greeted us, explained which directions to take and told us to enjoy our stay. At the spa reception the staff member was warm, informative and professional. She took our details and confirmed the package that I had purchased. Again she wished us a pleasant stay. We used the delightful facilities, I had been worried that I hadn’t booked a treatment but it was so lovely to catch up with my mum in the warm, relaxing and calm environment that has been created. We then took our time having a fabulous shower, using the products that were readily available before we headed to the bar for a drink. Again, the staff here were smart and professional. We settled down in the bar and then ambled around the corner to the restaurant. We were greeted here by a lovely blonde lady, I’m assuming the restaurant manager, who showed us to our table, lighting our lamp and again wishing us a wonderful evening. Looking at the menu, I was a little concerned that there wasn’t anything that I was ‘WOWED’ by. We both (myself and my mother) opted for the tomato and basil soup, I had the pork chop and mum had the chicken. The soup was hot on delivery and so flavourful. The bread accompaniment was absolutely delicious, I would have liked another. We tore it and dolloped large amounts of the delicious butter that came with it. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Our mains then arrived, my mum said that her main was delicious, she was particularly enamoured with the sauce and is hoping that my husband might be able to emulate it. My pork was absolutely delicious, succulent, well seasoned and both of us commented on the large portions we received, this was totally unexpected. For dessert, I had gelato; hazelnut, chocolate and vanilla. Very nice and quite light after my big meal. My mum commented that “this is the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had in a very long time!” The highest compliments to the chef(s)! I must give a special mention to the waitress, she did give her name but I’m afraid I forgot what she said. She was fabulous, a bubbly personality and ensuring that everyone was happy in her section. She had to work really hard with one couple, so definitely earned her wage last night! She had dark hair, was her name Suzanne? Even when leaving the night receptionist was lovely and helpful when we handed in our locker bracelets. It was an experience that you don’t want to end. The staff could definitely teach other establishments in the area about customer service, it was so refreshing to have all staff members so confident and accommodating. Thanks so much and hopefully we’ll be back to see you soon.

Awful Service & Stay This was our experience & The Hotel did reply with 10% off our next stay!!! NO WAY IM GOING BACK I Waited 10 minutes to talk to someone at the bar, it was very clear I was waiting but the bar person was deep in conversation with someone else. I ended up moving right next to that person to actually get served. We were initially sent to room 15. When we walked to it,the door was propped open & it was unclean & still dirty. We went back to reception & were given another room, room 16. Unfortunately the same problem, it was still dirty. Rather than going to complain the maid who was then going to clean it, said “this happens all the time, but you can leave your bags”. We had already been up & down & up stairs again so did leave our bags. We had to go & sit in the bar for 30 minutes whilst the room was cleaned. As the was No air conditioning we struggled to sleep due to being so warm. We were going to open the patio doors but as we were near the pond we were worried about gnats, so we didn’t have that option. The Sink in the bathroom was Blocked due to the plug being stuck. It was reported but nothing was done At Breakfast & Afternoon tea I was disappointed that there was No jam option.I’m allergic to strawberry’s & I don’t eat marmalade. Surely there should be other options? Over the 2 days we found that the Staff were not overly helpful. Everything seemed very confused. The Bar very rude. We wanted to know what time snacks were served on the bar. reception told us to phone bar. We couldn’t believe Only snack option was crisps or nuts. We were expecting chips or something cooked as we had seen a menu earlier on. We ended up having to go & find something elsewhere. T Toilet roll. As we had no housekeeping on the 2nd day I had to go to reception to Ask for toilet roll. I waited 15 minutes for staff as they had no idea where they were kept. In general, I was very unimpressed. This was supposed to be a celebration, relaxed stay. All the staff were very unhelpful & definitely no relaxing was done. We came away feeling more stressed! We decided to have dinner on the 2nd night. There was a Mix up with dinner, the waiter thought we had an allocation & assumed we had dinner included. We explained that sadly we did not. He came back and was very rude. I thought he might appreciate that I had been honest. The sheet showed that we had an allocation but when he double checked we did not. He then left & we didn’t see him again. We were not asked if we had any dietary requirements or allergies. My Partner has a peanut allergy and although it was specified on the same reservation sheet that specified we had an “ allocation”. We could have been dishonest & had a 3 course meal on you! Before that Jean sat us for Dinner at a table in full Sun next to large glass windows. we asked if we could move as I had a banging headache and the sun was blinding. He muttered that “ this whole side of the restaurant is booked” so I explain

Booked this hotel last minute. On arrival I was met by Hannah who was absolutely amazing. Showed me to my room and made sure i had everything I needed. When I asked about where to eat, Hannah did not say straight away in our restaurant but she explained all the places around this location. What I liked was she didn’t give bad review on any of them. For that reason I decided to eat in the restaurant of the hotel. Wow glad I did, absolutely amazing. I had the ribs to start, beautiful and the slaw was the best. For my mains I had the crispy belly pork. What can I say, this was another level. It was one of the best meals I have had this year. I met Aron the chief afterwards and what a gentleman. Aron’s food is incredible. Highly recommend his food. Food and accommodation is first class. 10/10 on both.

Smooth check in, very warm and friendly landlord. He showed me up to the room and talked me through the code to get in from outside. I've lived in Wivenhoe before so didn't need any local info. The room was very small with one small window up high, and a low bed. This made me feel quite boxed in. It was warm and clean but every few minutes a door slammed downstairs making the whole room shake. I didn't know there would be no breakfast in the restaurant, and was quite looking forward to having humans around me on Christmas morning. Instead I found a tray of cold pastries and fruit outside my room. This made me feel isolated. If you're going to charge £116 for a room, please do make it better value for money. I paid the same for an amazing room with free mini bar and amazing breakfast at Greyfriars ! All in all, A nice place but way overpriced for what it is.

We chose this hotel from an experience voucher we had bought for us, and I can say we chose a lovely friendly one. Parking was free to start with as we booked in at reception. The lady was very kind & changed without asking our room because of mobility issues with my husband. The Manager Ricardo offered to take us to town too. I must say our annex was super comfy warm and very cosy. We paid extra for breakfast which I must say I enjoyed my Salmon & Scrambled egg perfectly cooked by Daniel & my husbands full English both morning’s. We used the bar the 2nd night & were welcomed very much so by Maddison exchanging tails of our Zoo visit that day with hers & her children. I great place to stay in this beautiful Tudor hotel

The hotel building is unique, the hotel breakfast is good and the dinner is good. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, the service is very good. The hotel has two parts, the old building and the new building. The old building faces the street. There are sounds from nearby trains and motor vehicles. If you are afraid of noisy, it is recommended to live in a new building.

We were very happy with our stay at Kings cliff hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful during our check-in and when we used the bar in the evening and the restaurant for breakfast. It's fantastically situated on the sea front and was about half an hour walk along the coast from Clacton centre. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and generally in good condition. Overall a positive experience and a recommendation from me.

We wanted a night away and chose this hotel. The reception was small but clean and welcoming. We were greeted by Charlie who was friendly and professional. The room was lovely. Very clean. Plenty of tea and coffee etc. unfortunately the fish and chip restaurant was closed but fair enough it’s out of season and a Monday. Ordered from deliveroo who found us easily. The breakfast was great. The restaurant was clean and bright and the food was lovely. Very good selection. The hotel is very close to the pier etc. The outside area was clean and well maintained. The rear of the hotel was very tired looking but we didn’t sit round there. The only negative points we found was we could have done with more pillows but guess that’s personal preference. The water could have been warmer for a shower and the green exit light by the door was distracting for hubby. Over all a great stay for a reasonable price. We will definitely return.

Kind and helpful staff. Unfortunately they were unable to do an early check in for us but offered to look after our luggage until we could (we took them up on this offer!). When we returned they had not only checked us in but they had put the luggage in one of our rooms for us too. They also allowed us to leave the items with them the next day while we went out for brunch before heading back to Devon. Our room was clean and comfortable. Basic but exactly all that we needed just for an overnight stay. We did make use of the tea making facilities :-) Congrats to the housekeeping staff who were short staffed on the Saturday when we arrived, you'd done a great job.
