As soon as you go into the revolving door you are hit by a clean fresh sent. The hotel downstairs feels modern and clean. Check in was quick and easy and we got a free complementary cocktail each as it was our first time staying at Moxy. Our room was brilliant with motion lighting under the bed and switches at the bed side for other soft lights. The view of the lake and fountain was great. Perfect location to the NEC Birmingham and across the lake you have lots of eateries. We would stay here again if ever going to the NEC.

The front desk service attitude is good and kind
The room smells clean, the only downside is that the lighting is relatively dark and the overall condition is good
Clean bathroom with towels provided
Hotel buffet breakfast with multiple food choices
The location of the hotel is convenient, the train station & airport are within 5-10 minutes walk

The nicest part of the hotel is the bar. Other than that I see no reason to stay here. The check-in desks are informal islands, the size of a dinner table where they check two guests in at the same time. So you are shoulder to shoulder with another guest and trying to make out your portion of two simultaneous conversations. When I got to my room, it was warm and stinky. I tried turning on the ventilation system, but it would not work. Called reception, they said they’d send somebody up to look at it. I waited over half an hour, nobody showed, so I called reception again. No answer. Over the next 15 minutes I tried a few more times, still no answer. So I figured I’d go downstairs to see what’s going on. The three reception clerks were just standing there chatting amongst themselves, no guests waiting. I guess they couldn’t be bothered to answer the phone. Anyway, now that I was at reception and explained the situation again, they gave me another room. That room had some really old, worn furniture and was actually a bit smaller than my original room. My punishment for requesting a decent room I guess. We had booked two rooms and the other room was very cold throughout the stay, with the air conditioner running hard all the time. Changing the settings on the thermostat has no effect. Breakfast was mediocre in offering. For a big room, there was only one coffee machine working. The queue was about 20 people deep at one point. Some of the warm food on the buffet was clearly not being warmed and had cooled to room temp, which is probably a food safety issue. We had requested a late checkout, were told 2pm, but keycards stopped working at 1pm. If you are looking to stay here because you want to be next to the shopping mall, be sure to check out the mall’s website first, it is quite small, and does not offer women’s apparel. There is also not much else to do in the area. I feel that this hotel is very expensive for what it has to offer. The rooms are worn out and uncomfortable and the staff that can’t be bothered to put in the slightest effort to make things right. They are probably just as frustrated working in this place as the guests are that stay here.

The decoration style of the Crowne Plaza Hotel is consistent. Since we are going to the exhibition, we are very close to the nec exhibition center and it takes 10 minutes to walk. Next door is Birmingham Airport. Basically, people who come here for business are not interested in any sights.
There is a large party bar on the first floor of the hotel. You can also order some food. The breakfast is on the ground floor. There are not as many choices as domestic ones. They are more English style. What scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs. Ah, sausages, and so on.
The whole is quite satisfactory. . . It is also a business trip, not demanding

This was our first time travelling from Birmingham Airport (we usually fly from Gatwick). We always book a hotel stay for the night before our flight and due to the proximity of the Novotel to Birmingham Airport we chose to stay here. Prior to our arrival I had looked at reviews on here and reached out to the hotel requesting interconnecting rooms (we are a family of 6 - 2 adults and 4 under 12s). We were advised that the request had been noted but could not be guaranteed. Thankfully we were allocated connecting rooms with the added bonus of an amazing view! The rooms themselves were well appointed and had ample space. I really liked the mirrored doors in the bathroom! The beds were comfy and the children who slept on the rollaway & sofa bed said they were also comfortable! Rooms were clean. All the staff we encountered were welcoming and friendly - including the gentleman who delivered our room service order (which was well presented and tasty)! At the time of writing bookings are required to dine in the restaurant (there is a menu inside the lifts which is also the room service menu). If you wish to dine inside of the airport (before security) then your options are Greggs,, M&S, Spar & Costa - the restaurants on the first floor are closed - I believe they are expanding the security area. Overall a great stay and should we fly from Birmingham again we would definitely stay again.

It was our first time staying at this hotel, which happened as a result of a mix up at a hotel around the corner. All I can say is wow! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel like VIPs and everything was amazing. The rooms were nicely laid out and comfortable. We went downstairs for dinner and again the service was excellent. A special mention for Abul who looked after us so well. We have decided that in future we will be staying here again when we travel Thank you to all the staff at the Novotel for a very enjoyable stay.

Wow! Is all I can say! We got married at The Manor Hotel in Meriden in December 2022 and it was the perfect day. Liridona Tahiri was our wedding planner. Her responsiveness and attention to detail was excellent. She never felt that any question was too daft or unimportant and always responded to my emails in a timely manner. She was approachable and kind and always had time to listen to any concerns. Because of her our day went really smoothly. All of the staff on the day were so accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure all the wedding party was happy and they had everything they needed. Nothing was too much trouble. I would just like to say, if you are booking your wedding I would 100% recommend the team at The Manor. Our guests are still telling us what a fabulous wedding we had. You can have total confidence that the team at The Manor are on your side. Even when our die-hard guests were reluctant to go to bed at 2am the staff were still lovely about it. Thank you to you all for giving us a day to remember. xx

We booked a standard double room, which was spacious and comfy. The hotel decor throughout is beautiful. All the team on reception and at breakfast were friendly and helpful. Will definitely use this hotel again, very handy for the NEC, just a 5-10 minute drive away

Only stayed in this hotel for one night but can't fault it at all. Double rooms are not massive but very comfortable and contain great little touches, The free chocolate and drinks provided are a touch that probably doesn't cost the hotel a lot but is a welcome relief from the profiteering vibe most hotels portray. The hotel also has a built in chrome cast to the TV so you can cast over your own Netflix or Disney plus shows. I would also like to mention that despite the fact it seems to cater for a significant number of guests every morning the breakfast is exceptional and brought on order. (a little tip is you can ask for a cappuccino in the morning rather than the tea or coffee initially offered). Hotel is also in a great location near to a lot of nice bars and restaurants and although it doesn't have parking, the train station car park around the corner is reasonably priced and secure. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Just returned for 2 nights at this amazing hotel. Location is perfect for exploring the city centre. We had late drinks in Madeline bar each night. Atmosphere was perfect and great drinks/team. Breakfast is each morning in Isaacs. Lovely fresh hot breakfast ordered from a menu. Accompanied by a buffet of continental items. All the staff were fantastic, specifically reception, housekeeping and Madeline bar. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back as soon we can.

This hotel is a bit old, the power outlet is old, but the bathroom is super super, equivalent to another room, breakfast is very good, you can order. The hotel is on the edge of St. Martin's Church, the city center.

Let me start by saying I usually stay at The Village hotel but decided to give this one a try. This hotel as air con, the Village hotel does not. The location is great just off the M5, everything is easily accessible I booked a twin room, the beds were so comfortable as you would expect with a Mercure hotel. The room was decorated to a high standard and had everything you need to be comfortable. The only negative which might affect some people's stay is the bathroom, it has a mixer shower so the pressure of the water was very weak. I did speak to reception who informed me that in the near future this will be changed. The breakfast was delicious, if you want poached eggs just ask, they are happy to please. This is my now place to stay when visiting family in the midlands. Shout out to Gerry on reception who goes out of her way to make sure you have the best stay, she is a superstar! FYI in the Privilege room- you get a mini fridge and bottled water/juices and a modern shower rather than a mixer tap shower

It's a review of two half's. The hotel was great, well maintained and clean. The staff were always friendly. The room had a bit of a noise to it like a motor running which was slightly annoying at night, but not horrendous. Getting out of the shower did feel a bit dangerous as there was nothing to grip and the shower screen moved alot. The restaurant staff were friendly and the food was great, although no decafe tea on offer which was a little let down. The spa facilities are what let's the stay down, the pool & facilities are small, crowded and not the cleanest I've seen. Also incredibly frustrating that you have to leave the hotel and cross the car park to get to the facilities. The spa treatments we had are possibly the worst we've ever had and would not recommend. (I felt like I had annoyed this lady in a past life and she was taking it out on my back!!) I would stay at the hotel again, it was an easy park and ride to the center of Birmingham and the hotel was clean and tidy overall.
