If you are looking for an affordable 5*+ hotel in Geneva, you will have a hard time - Geneva is just crazy expensive due to all the international conferences and the high living standards in Switzerland. But I found a wonderful option just outside the city, officially located in France. It's a golf resort, very classy (a bit snobby potentially) and top-notch quality. The rooms are spotless, the property is high-class and the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) high quality. The SPA is very nice, the bar area gives a very lavish feeling with live music and high-qulity cocktails. It's still rather boutique and not a big hotel - I enjoyed it very much.

Ivar is the most beautiful and romantic town we have ever seen in Europe, and the Port Restaurant Hotel is in the best position. The hotel staff was courteous and welcoming, and the breakfast and dinner were great. The three-storey hotel has a mini lift that can accommodate only two people for couples. The town of Ivar is a flower-filled stone town, situated on the shores of Lake Geneva. After spending two hours of slow play, you can walk the entire village. There are two wall outlets in the town. Tourist vehicles are not allowed to come in. The hotel will help you parking for free. If you can stay here for a week, it will be the most wonderful time.

Some of the staff are friendly, especially those from the Reception. The hotel is strategically located opposite Annemasse Main Train Station. You can easily purchase the ticket and travel to Geneva too. Latitude 46 serves good food (it is the hotel's only restaurant) There are several bus station nearby, where you can hoop on / off the bus easily (eg : Tango) Opposite the hotel is the Tourism Board of Annemasse. There is a mini bar and conference rooms at Level 8 of the hotel. if you wish to stay in this hotel, it is better to be able to communicate in French, else it is very hard to talk to the staff However the room is very small there is no cupboard to hang clothes. If you are staying in standard room, no bedroom sleepers will be provided. According to reception, Sleepers are only for those in Executive Rooms. The carpet in the room is not clean, and I noticed that cleaners entered the room with their boots / shoes, and that could be the reason why the carpet is always dusty and dirty. Another thing to note is the bedsheet is not clean. The mini bar at Level 8 closes at around 10pm, which is too early. The waitresses will ask you to leave by around 10pm. she spoke in French and none of us could understand. Most staff cannot communicate in English. The place may not be safe especially at nights, you can hear people fighting at the back street , from your hotel room . One of the evenings (16 Apr) , we reached the Latitude 46 at around 9.37pm, and were trying to place our orders, a young waiter told us that the kitchen have closed. However, as per the reception, the last call to the kitchen was always at 10pm. We were left with no food, as most of the cafes nearby have already closed, ended up we had to buy burgers from McDonalds. The young waiter (male) was very rude and could not speak English efficiently. In my opinion, this hotel is more suitable only for short stay One plus point is, it is located very near to the town's main train station. That's it.

Stayed here for 1 night when travelling to lake garda in Italy...what can I say brilliant place swimming pool is very clean the hotel and our room was spotlessly clean we had a small ice box full of food which they put in there fridge for us staff were friendly and could not do enough to help us booked on the spot aswell as we didn't plan on stopping but so glad we did 100% would recommend to anyone....p.s wish I got the womens name who was on reception she was so helpful and polite thankyou to everyone 😀

If you are a lover of Art Deco, this hotel is one of the best examples I have ever seen. Social distancing, not a problem!! This Resort hotel provides sweeping, large rooms and hallways. The Lobby/Social area is a MUST SEE!!! This top class hotel has everything! World class breakfast (perfect for Americans!) with large comfortable armchairs. If you prefer to dine outside, there are plentiful, elegant tables with white table clothes. A large outdoor pool with a diving platform, smaller pool area for children, plenty of chaise long to relax on. There is also a golf course (36 handicap or less only) and a ******. The resort has a French and a Lebanese restaurant. The service was superb!
