I love this little boutique hotel. The staff are truly the best - friendly and accommodating. The premises are showing some signs of age but very clean and comfortable. I love the cafe as well - I wish there were some more menu options but what they have is very good. I didn't have a car so parking was not an issue but I do hear that it's limited around the hotel, which sits on a quiet street near the river, about a 15-20 minute walk from Oxford city centre. I've stayed here before and happily will again. (Note that this property is one of many businesses that has gone completely cashless - I don't like not having a cash option but the UK seems to be adopting it at a fast pace)

Nice hotel, well situated. Staff were friendly and very helpful checking in and out and storing bags when I arrived early. Would recommend and go again.

Room #904. Parking was provided (limited availability, but no problem if you check in early). Nice room, but noisy bunch of young people partying below us that evening and night, but I appreciate that can't be helped while the May VIII's are racing on the river (Bumps). We had some friends join us for supper in ”Keepers' restaurant and bar and were repeatedly hurried by the waitress to get our order in before 8:40pm ”because 9pm is when the chef goes home”. Well it didn't need a 'chef' truly, but the food was acceptable and reasonably priced at £120 for 4 including drinks. No chance of pud though, unless you had ordered it before the watershed. We had bought our own birthday cake, so we had that instead. I can't think of any other European countries where this would happen... We asked if we could leave our car in situ for a few hours after we checked out the following morning and we were accommodated with grace, which was very kind. A well-situated establishment, we paid £150 for the night for a double room in the new block.

I checked in alone and was given a large bed. The customer service and front desk are very polite. During this period, there was construction in the alley next door, and the front desk took the initiative to call me and upgrade me to a privilege room. All in all very satisfied. In addition, the address is very convenient. It is within walking distance from the city center and only a 3-minute walk from the bus stop to the airport. recommend.

The service is very good. The service at breakfast and evening bar is very good, and the price is very good. It is very interesting to meet many grandparents during Christmas. The location and view of the hotel are also great for my liking. We stayed for two nights before going to other cities, but we plan to come back in a week and will continue to choose this hotel. Breakfast has just the right variety, not wasted but great. Very quiet, compact and comfortable. The bedding was very good. I had a good sleep both nights.

The room is quite big, with a bathtub and a balcony. It is a manor-style hotel with very convenient parking and free parking. The snacks provided at the front desk when checking in were pretty good! The breakfast is not bad, the cost is about 20 pounds, and you can order food at the lobby bar, which is quite cost-effective.

There is a bus station next to the hotel. It is more convenient to go to oxford center. The room size is okay, with plenty of sunlight, clean, and warm. The view from the window is very good. I saw a little squirrel in the morning, and the children liked it very much. However, after the check-in time is 4 o'clock, the check-out time is 10 o'clock, which is really inconvenient. In addition, the room cleaning will only be provided if the stay is more than 5 consecutive days. We have not cleaned the room for three consecutive days. I think it is not very reasonable and needs to be improved. .

Very warm small house, self-check-in throughout the whole process, very convenient, very quiet, 15 minutes walk to the campus, but parking in front of the yard is not allowed, so the message is wrong, parking to go to the original place, walking for 15 minutes.

Amazing find just beautiful! We came for the night as a little family hen do. My mum, sister and niece came Saturday afternoon and stayed till Sunday. EVERYONE was so welcoming helpful and polite. Our rooms were amazing with everything you needed. We had a balcony overlooking the grounds to the the river Thames. Nice and clean with really comfy beds. We used the pool and steam room Saturday afternoon unfortunately the jacuzzi wasn’t working and had been drained but didn’t stop us relaxing. Our dinner Saturday night in Napiers was delicious! Our waitress Abby was polite, chatty and lovely to chat to. She was really helpful. Breakfast was awesome! And great that you could take a coffee away with you in the disposable cups provided. My niece wants to make it a regular trip!! Highly recommend

Stayed here for 2 nights for my cousins wedding. Fantastic large ground floor room with very comfortable beds which allowed us to leave car right outside for easy loading when we left. All the staff were very polite & friendly throughout the staff. Visited the pool & sauna which was a nice addition. Breakfast both days was great- sat down quickly & good selection. Wedding itself was fantastic- what an amazing location next to the Thames however chairs were slightly damp- need a cover putting on them if heavy dew or slightly wet as guests sit down! Meal & buffet later were outstanding. 5/6 mins from large Sainsburys if you forgot any essentials. Highly recommended & very enjoyable stay.

Returned from 4 night stay at Hawkwell House Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. To begin with I booked direct with the hotel, not wanting the corporate Mecure website and got exactly what I wanted... great customer service. Chavi was extremely helpful. The hotel itself is well situated, about 10-15 minutes on bus to Oxford City Centre (stop on Iffley turn). The hotel was clean, staff friendly, food good for both breakfast (good choice) and evening. We ate in the bar twice. Only a couple of possible notes of potential improvement. It would be handy to have a note in the room to remind guests of meal times (breakfast). I realise most paper was removed under Covid but there was an Oxfordshire brochure. Perhaps something to program into the TV? Similar to another review, a water pump type noise would come on in our room in the early hours of the morning. This sounded like the air con/heater and whilst not major it may need investigating. It's similar to work's and we didn't need to use anyway but perhaps instructions may be beneficial for guests? Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if ever Oxford way again would definitely come back! Thank you.

Our second stay was so much better as we there was no wedding in the hotel. That meant peaceful night. We love retiring here after visiting multiple Oxford colleges. I wanted to commend young man at reception - nothing was too much for him. He helped us with bedding for sofa bed which to our surprise turned to into… a bunk bed! My daughter was a bit apprehensive sleeping upstairs so we were offered change if the room but we were already settled and accepted the situation. It was unexpected as we have stayed in the very same room earlier this tear and had normal sofa bed. You may want to check it in advance when booking family room. I enjoyed usual perks of elite Accor status like free breakfast, complimentary drinks and welcome gift. Rooms are spacious, clean, bathtub is great for tall people - you can really stretch your legs! Aircon has a heating option up to 25 degrees or you can open windows if you like fresh air. I love the concept of Oxford fashion featuring everywhere. With 2 hrs drive from London it is lovely place for a break. Probably the best Mercure in UK. See you soon!

Visit the town of Oxford University first, and then go to the hotel. I went there in the name of Hilton. There are various winding roads and it is raining, but the hotel itself is not bad, the breakfast is OK, and there are parking spaces.

Abit far from the city. Good if you have a car. Nothing much to do nearby. But clean and new hotel. Breakfast was good too. Loved the bathroom amenities

The facilities are old, but fortunately the room is big enough. The breakfast is not very rich, but it is made now, which is very good. The location is also close to Oxford, come out and take the bus directly on the main road.

Double room. Very poor decor out of 4 wall lights only 1 was working, 2 had no light fitting at all another the pull cord would not work. Dirty marks on the wall, bathroom very poorly finished loose tap to basin plug let water by had to keep topping up. Bed was appalling, uncomfortable and in need of replacing. The room (4) was cold and upon waking the window was covered in condensation. When I I asked what time is breakfast was told we don’t do breakfast ? But, according to older reviews they did .Would defiantly giving this accommodation a miss. The 3* rating is 10 yrs out of date. This room was over £100 for one night. The owner was not available when leaving but would have to not enter 4 in a bed competition.
