"We decided to go for lunch here. Great service, excellent food and a nice and cosy interior. We really enjoyed our lunch and the hospitality. We will certainly go back and even book a room next time we are in Sleenaken."
"We stayed a weekend in this place. Arriving on Friday a little later but we had a warm Welcome. The food was good and the Régional wine was very tasteful. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The village of Self is close to Maastricht which is a nice visit off course. "

"The welcome was allright as you might expect from a family hotel. "Due to Corona the hotel made some changes to make the guests comfortable. However there was a thin line between the Corona regulations and the reality. For instance, at breakfast you'll be served from a buffet like breakfast bar. All to keep social distancing, but the staff pick your breakfast by hand. When I discussed it with the staff they claim that they wash and sanitize their hands all the time. This makes you wonder ....." "The Superior rooms above the restaurant don't have an airco installed so bare in mind that due to extreem warm weather the rooms can be very very hot. It affects your sleep and you're not well rested." So I can understand some earlyer complaints and the discussions with the owners! However the gastronomical part was more then fantastic, it all matched perfectly. They got sloppy on the diet requirements, but they were able to correct their error instantly. In culinary ways I had the time of my life there. The wellness part was superb I had a massage included and you can use the gym, swimmingpool and sauna for free. That's a big plus! Overall the staff are friendly and helpfull, but it's a big minus that after checkout they don't seem to ask if everything was allright and if I had a pleasant stay. Maybe because of the fear for negative comments, a shame really. It's hard to give an overall rating at this point but it's mandatory to give one. So they lose one star because of violating the Corona rules (when on holiday I try not to pay much attention on it otherwise it gets an irritating factor) and losing one star for comfort in the room during extreem hot weather. It's also unclear if the room was unoccupied 24 hours before my arrival!!"
"We stayed here for a wellness weekend 2 weeks ago. Great room, very comfy with a soft nice bed. We had a 3 day stay with breakfast and two dinners. The first day we had a lovely lunch at the hotel terrace after which we both had a great body massage, my husband also a feet massage and had I a face treatment. Lovely hotel, great food, friendly staff and very helpful. We had a great time! I enjoyed the wonderful indoor pool before breakfast every morning and had it for myself. After swimming I used the pool terrace outside on a comfy bed. We forgot to take an expensive item from the safe, phoned , they found it and mailed it to us. Chapeau!"
"A hotel has a very good managing family team. They run a small country hotel as something particular for the place and resources. They have an inventive kitchen. Wellness on the roof and sauna on the basement areas are very good, although usually they are just an addition to the hotel. Here they are worth visiting as a separate attraction: Turkish bath and sauna are closer to original than usually in Europe. Be ready for the fenced lawns in front of the hotel: stay on the terrace! You can see, but not walk there. The hotels consist of two different buildings, newer and older. Be sure, what you book."

"I have been coming here every year (apart from when it was closed when a new buyer was found) and it has never disappointed. The Kasteel oozes charm. This year it was the same, the staff are just 100% perfect. They know when to leave you alone and when to be there. However, This year I learnt that the Kasteel has been bought by a German Billionaire and to my dismay it will be renamed "Chateau" instead of "Kasteel" because the Germans dont know what that means! Really? Why not call it "Schloss" then? Its in Holland, not Germany. Would you name a Schloss in Germany "Castello" if you were an Italian owner? All it will do is alienate Dutch customers (and French, Italians and British) which in fact is the core of their business. What next? will we have Sauerkraut on the menu? Sorry new owner, please think again about renaming this wonderful place. It will ruin it. Hopefully there will be some renovations to the rooms, I always stay in "January" and the bathroom really needs a rethink, please put a shower in and some more lights, you cant shave in the dark! Enough ranting, This wonderful establishment is "understated excellence" in comfort, service and food. I will return next year, Lets hope its still the same old romantic place."
"It is a beautiful authentic castle in a beautiful location. You are welcomed as a guest, guided, put at ease. Wonderful rooms. You really come to rest. The food in the restaurant is sublime. Star-worthy, culinary and top quality. Delicious wines. The service is fantastic. The total package is just right. Even the chef personally comes to the table at the end of the evening. Something that the castle can not do anything about, but there are 2 main roads close to the hotel. This causes some extra noise from traffic when the windows are open at night during warm weather. There is no air conditioning available, because this is not allowed in this monumental building. The staff is very helpful to offer different ways of cooling the rooms. But don't let this be a reason 'not to go' !!"
"Impeccable service, well designed modern room and bathroom, secured car parking space and with a bonus for electric and hybride cars (charging) Breakfast was lovely with enough choice (no buffet) We had a very nice dinner and with very friendly and helfpfull staff."

"St. Gerlach was a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend for anyone looking for a romantic getaway. The property is stunning, the facilities are beautiful and you have everything you need for the visit in one location. The junior suite had a nice combination of traditional inventory and romanticism, yet it was clean and well put together. The bed was one of the best we ever slept in, not to mention the peacefulness of waking up on the countryside. The room was also made several times a day. All facilities on the property were luxurious and well put together - from the restaurant, hotel bar, bistro, rooms and spa. The spa facilities were larger than expected and very fresh/clean. The breakfast had a wide range of selection with a nice view, the restaurants had a traditional luxury atmosphere with impeccable food. The service at the property was overall excellent, with some minor details to be addressed here and there. There was one receptionist and one employee at the bistro that were a bit below the expected standards for a chateau - the service was not bad but you can see similar in a regular hotel or bistro. Otherwise the employees in the reception, restaurant and spa were attentive and professional. What has to be mentioned, is the outstanding service we received from Orpheo in the hotel bar. This was one of the best service experiences we have had and he went out of his way to accommodate and turn our evening around. We did not book a table for dinner in advance and the restaurant and bistro was completely full. Orpheo called the restaurant and set up a table in the breakfast restaurant entirely for us alone. In addition he was utmost professional, attentive to details and went beyond the extra mile to give us an excellent experience. For anyone who appreciated luxury and attention to details, this is the place to be. "
"This is my 3rd stay at the Château St Gerlach. I booked it as a treat for my son and his girlfriend who visited us for the holidays. My partner and I have been here twice before and we enjoyed both those visits and wanted our family to have this experience too. Apart from the daily breakfast, we only had a couple of meals in the chateau and both were good. The staff are as professional, courteous and friendly as always. The spa/wellness area continues to be my favorite sanctuary within the chateau. It was a particularly slow season during our visit so we practically had the pool to ourselves most of the time. I do miss the Christian Lacroix toiletries. They smelled heavenly and it was a shame that they no longer use the brand. We hope to make it back a 4th time. I can never get tired of this place. "
"Dear Madam/Sir, We booked a 2 bedroom apartment because on the website it looked like a ground floor apartment. When we arrived, we were actually given a two floors apartment with a very steep staircase. This was an issue as my mother in law who was with us had recently had an accident with a staircase and we were all stressed during our stay. Basically, we had to make sure someone was always with her going up and down. I know your website advises to inform for people with disabilities, but I am not sure the pictures you have posted are true to what you actually offer given that ground floor apartments turned out to be limited. Thank you for considering this in the future. Otherwise, we had a very nice stay!"

"We stayed here for the second time for a short break. We thoroughly enjoyed our spacious room, the friendly staff and the swimming pool and sauna. This is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy the beautiful surroundings or visit the lovely city of Maastricht. Just one comment: we stayed in the annex part of the hotel, where the walls turned out to be quite thin the one night we had noisy neighbors. Other than that we had a wonderful experience!"
"I went here for a business trip and it turned out to be a great relaxation place with most beautiful trails and biking routs of Limburg. High class, quiet, super nice staff and marvelous food. Will be back for sure. "
"The hotel staff is really friendly and service minded. The only con is that I made a reservation through the website and not all the information was received correctly which ended in a shortage of room for our party for the second night. Overall, nice and decent stay, recommended."

"In July I had to travel to Heerlen again - like for the past 2 years and again hotel was needed for like 4 nights. So here is what I found: - location - well literally out there in the woods (at the outskirts of Heerlen) in a great park. lots of hiking trails here - excellent for biking or running or simply walking through this area. Rooms are located in what seems to be a former castle - not sure if they have rooms in the main building - but in the courtyard in the so called annex buildings all around are rooms. The room I had - very spacious - excellent bed, perfect bathroom with tub and shower booth - dependent on the mood you can choose what you want to use. TV, mini-bar, strong Wi-fi signal in the room, reading/relaxing corner once you climbed the spiral (see in the pics). Overall what can I say more.. great room.(since is a historical building no AC). Staff - they were very helpful - every morning they got me a cab- very good english speaking so no issue on the communication. Check in and check out went really smooth and fast. Breakfast - very good selections - the buffet was loaded with a good variety of meats, cheese, fruit and the classics , scrambled eggs, bacon and beans. They have the restaurant working also - in later rew I let you know about that 1 too. Prices - not cheap but I would say well worth the money spent and I consider it mid-range. Overall great experience - next year I try to back the same hotel when I go back to Heerlen , I do recommend you try it."
"For almost 0 years we monthly join the Sunday matinee in Kasteel Ter Worm.(near Heerlen NL) Always a full day pleasure! Combined with a night stay in the hotel you can enjoy a splendid 6 course menu based on a seasonal theme and wine region. There is a fabulous terrace. Most of the time there is also a happening (opera, wine tasting, …). Very nice staff and management make you feel at home... Rooms are very spacious and stylish. Some give direct access to a little private garden. In the morning you can enjoy a perfect breakfast with coupe de champagne and view over the beautiful castle garden There are bikes and scooters for rent to explore the region, The hills around give you ample opportunity to get rid of your excess calories. But if you prefer a city trip, Maastricht and Aachen, both historical cities are nearby. Really, a remarkable experience. In absence of Adam and Eve's paradise, you can search for shelter in the Kasteel Ter Worm... there is no need to look for the proverbial apple tree... . "
"This castle is a hidden gem for a nice romantic weekend and the restaurant they have offers a good selection for eating a la carte or taking 3, 4, 5 or 6 courses menus. The wine list is very elaborate and covers multiple countries of origin and regions. The rooms are located inside the small castle and the surrounding buildings that made up the farmer estate in previous times. The restoration and conversion to hotel with a fine restaurant was done about 20 years. "

"Our double room was small but comfortable. The shower was tiny compared to the size of the bathroom, but was clean and functional. The triple room was a great size but also had a tiny shower. The rooms were clean and comfortable with adjustable air conditioning/heating and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel on the whole was very well decorated, clean and comfortable. The bar is small but cosy. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely visit here again and have recommended it to family and friends."
"I discovered this hotel during an unexpected stay in Valkenburg. Nice renovated property. Modern and comfortable rooms. Friendly check-in and check-out. Good breakfast with basic service. Very centrally located in a quiet area. Price/quality an excellent choice. As I am a travel agent and I did announce myself before, I am a bit disappointed that nobody of the management approached me."
"We have stayed at the Scheepers for a few years and always enjoy our stay. It is a very nice family owned hotel, and the owners could not be nicer and more enjoyable to talk with. It is centrally located in the town, and a short walk from everything and a wonderful place to stay!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this luxury hotel. The staff was very friendly, from checking in to cleaning lady to the people at the bar. We were able to use the wellness facilities at the hotel, even after checking out and although basic, it definitely added to the relaxation-level of our trip. We didn't sleep in the castle itself, which we had secretly hoped for, but upon request we did get a room with a bathtub. Breakfast was superb and IN the castle, so we did get to be there after all :D The rooms are not very modern, but clean and spacious. We had two beds, which by itself isn't an issue, but during the night they moved and created a gap in the middle of about 10 cm, which made for a strange wake up moment. ("Honey, I suddenly feel like there's some distance between us") The only real downside was the fact that there were only two charger for electric cars, and they were occupied our entire stay. (By the same two cars, btw, so it's also a matter of decency when people don't move after they've topped up). Anyway, a few extra charger would be nice, cause now we had to use a supercharger on the way home."
"Visiting a long lost family relation in Southern Limburg, and returning to my roots there, my stay at Vaalsbroek couldn't have been more pleasant. We stayed for two nights, toured the environs, had lovely breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The room was very nice. We loved the atmosphere around the old castle. The rates for room, breakfast and dinner were very reasonable. The room and hotel were very clean and well cared for, unlike at some other major hotel chains were hotels sometimes appear dilapidated. 10 out of 10."
"Stayed here for 2 nights for business. The rooms were quite spacious. Breakfast and lunch were served in another building (the Kasteel portion). Great lounge area as well as a spa which was in the hotel portion of the establishment. Nice indoor pool and fitness area. Our visit was during January but a large pond outside would be even nicer in the summer. Great place to bike, run or walk around the area."

"Hotel Atlanta is located close to the town centre and is a few minutes walk from restaurants and shops. It is also just a short walk away from the caves which is the town’s main attraction. We were there for the Christmas markets in end November this year. The hotel though small was very well appointed. Clean rooms, crisp linens, toiletries and a substantial breakfast were all part of the deal. The staff were friendly and polite and were kind enough to hold our luggage even though we had checked out, till we were ready to leave. My friends and I had a comfortable stay there and are happy to recommend it to anyone visiting Valkenburg."
"Was there for a night during a work trip, the staff was very helpful with booking taxi, waiting me after midnight and going the extra mile. Very quiet if you need to relax. The owner cares a lot for the hotel and it shows that she puts her soul to make ones stay pleasant. Recommended if you visit Valkenburg - and do not forget the great breakfast by the window! A nice way to start your day, thanks for the hospitality!"
"Just returned from another stay at this hotel visiting the Christmas markets. We always enjoy our time here. The staff are friendly and speak excellent English. The dinners are a little sparse but tasty and well presented. The breakfasts have everything you could wish for. It's so well located, just a short distance away from the town centre. We're looking forward to our next stay there in November 2019."
