Kelsey provided great customer service. She was welcoming and had a great personality for this job. The hotel was bright and clean! And I loved the Christmas tree. This hotel offered gym and free breakfast! You can't beat it. Will be back!

Place was clean and convenient to 95. The only complaint I have is that we were hoping to get something to eat at the hotel bar as we got in after a long drive and didn’t want to go back out for dinner. The guy running the bar and kitchen said he didn’t know whether or not the oven was working. He seemed completely unmotivated to try - just wanted serve beer and wine. Later I went down to get beer from the front desk area. The same guy asked why I didn’t want to get it from the bar. I think he just wanted a tip.

The hotel is very hygienic. The air conditioner is not loud and very comfortable. There is only a refrigerator in the room and no microwave. However, there are various teas, coffees, chocolates for brewing in the lobby, and hot water can be directly connected, which is very convenient. Free parking.

We checked into the hostel by chance while driving though the area on our way to Florida. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly and very nice. He gave me a choice of floors to be on which was appreciated. The room was standard size, with 2 queen beds a desk & dresser & fridge together. The beds were comfortable, but I hate the 1/2 pillows. The room & the bathroom was clean. If I have a complaint there were many scratches and spots that looked like stains on the walls. The place could use a new coat of paint. Breakfast was the solid fair of waffles, cereals, muffins & breads, instant oatmeal. There were no eggs or hot foods, but there were those microwaveable sausage, egg & cheese on a croissant. They were actually pretty good. It was a Friday night, so it was roughly $180 for the night. Not terrible.

As an IHG member, I mostly always stay at an IHG properties. As a seasoned business traveler, I have experienced a lot of different hotels throughout the East coast. I can only compare to other IHG hotels. The store needs some upgrading. It definitely needs a new satellite system that works when it’s cloudy. The reception was so bad, couldn’t watch television. I’m used to having USB ports. To charge my phone, I used the one in the back of the satellite receiver, since I wasn’t using it to watch anything. Just upgrading the in room electronics would bring this property into 2021. The bedding was superb, plenty of hot water to shower. The internet functioned well. The location is great, with easy access to downtown Ashland. Plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. Just need a few tweaks in the guest rooms, and future stays should be much better.
