"Booked to stay as was dining at a nearby restaurant. The pub and the rooms were very clean and perfectly finished. Room included Sky to, teas and coffee, water, very large room and bathroom with fluffy towels. On checking in we were advised that the pub had been booked for two parties that night, one with a band and the other with a DJ. We were advised that the party would be finished by 11.30, so not a problem as we weren't due back till just after midnight. On returning the band had finished, but the DJ had not, the bar was also full of party goers. The noise from the pub echoed into the rooms above till 1.00, you could hear and feeling the base, the singing and the laughter. The at 1.30 the staff started to put the furniture all back into place. Once again disturbing the rooms above. The bathroom extract fans rattled through the night, added with the busy road outside made for a very poor nights sleep in a very comfortable room. The bar staff had returned by 8.00 am making the place ready for breakfast, therefore once again could be heard. Breakfast the next morning was good, a traditional full English, but no other hot choice, only cereals or pastry. The water for tea was lukewarm and the overall service did not reflect the setting. On the whole, good room, very noisy, poor service and overpriced. "
"Stayed in the suite. Modern, quirky and large, well modernised and comfortable if a little noisy from the road. But after a bottle of great local Pinot noir I couldn’t hear much! Food pretty good I had hake perfectly cooked and my wife had great moules. The bar is comfortable and the staff pleasant and attentive. The home grown wines especially that Pinot Noir are really good. Let down badly by an entirely DIY continental breakfast. Can’t complain about most of the food left out for breakfast but the breakfast experience is so far behind the quality of the rest of the inn. I want service in a hotel environment and one of the pleasures of being away from home is the indulgence of full cooked breakfast. We won’t return to stay but as a pub it’s really good. "
"I just stayed for one night with my two daughters. The bedrooms are absolutely lovely, the pub was lively on a Sunday afternoon, and we enjoyed our pizzas that night. The staff were charming, friendly and helpful. We were left a great continental breakfast on the Monday morning. The rooms and food were reasonably priced, though the wine was quite a bit more than we paid in Hush Heath winery. However, the staff kindly let us drink the bottle we had bought at Hush Heath, downstairs in the pub with our pizzas."

"Not really a 'boutique hotel' as they describe themselves, more a pub with rooms. When we registered, we were shown a scratty piece of A4 paper with details of the outside door code, wifi code and the number of the manager in case of emergencies. We were asked to take a photo of this piece of paper on our phones... it appeared they couldn't manage to print out four copies (there are only four rooms) for the guests. On first entering our room, I noted and appreciated the shutters and curtains at the windows which, as our room was overlooking the street, shut out what would have been a lot of light spill. The en-suite bathroom was lovely, but I was somewhat concerned by the spare toilet roll being kept on the handle of the toilet brush. Not sure how sanitary that is! The room was furnished with a matching suite of furniture, an ornate bed, bedside cupboards, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The wardrobe in particular was massive. In height and width about as big as the bed, and far, far too big for the room. It completely dominated the space. The rail inside the wardrobe was very high too. I doubt that anyone under 5' 4" would been able to hang anything up in there. There was no chair, stool or bench to put your clothes on overnight or if you were changing or showering. Next we came to the plug sockets. They were in some odd places. I would imagine the planning of where the sockets went came before the furniture had been measured properly. Both of the plug sockets on one side of the bed were covered by the leg of the bedside table. When the table was moved we found that neither socket actually worked. There was a bedside lamp but that was wired straight into the wall. The switch on the lamp on the other side of the bed was faulty, so the lamp had to be switched on and off at the wall socket. Thankfully the ones on that side of the bed were functioning. Then the electrical appliances. There was a fan, a kettle, a pod style coffee machine and a large tray of coffee, tea and biscuits on the large chest of drawers. They all took up so much space there was very little left to put any of our own possessions down anywhere. The switch on the fan didn't work (are you sensing a theme here?) and when we asked the manager about this, we were told it had to be switched on and off at the wall socket. When we returned to our room after our evening out, we discovered the fan was plugged in to an extension lead of four sockets which was left dangling down the side of the chest of drawers. All the electrical items were plugged in to this lead. When the fan was switched on it was incredibly noisy, it sounded like the thing was about to fall apart. Neither of us had a good night's sleep. The bed linen was of reasonable quality, but the pillows were flat, thin and hard. All four of them. The mattress was cheap, thin and uncomfortable. The pub below (which is below all four of the rooms) was playing pop music quite loudly which made it impossible to "
"Wow what a warm welcome, Sharon and Tony are lovely hosts what you see is what you get! The barmaids very attentive to your needs, nothing was too much trouble Harry we love you loads and a big thank you for looking after us. If you don’t like noise remember this is a lovely family country pub with very good facilities and on occasions entertainment too, bchild frendly too absolutely loved the room we stayed in we slept so peacefully. And was only woken up by the birds chirping We will be back for defo, Thanks once again we really appreciate all you done for us"
"We booked three rooms for a girls weekend and had a really lovely stay. beautifully decorated and staff who went out of their way to help. Two rooms had beautiful big baths and the showers were great. Big comfy beds. We didn't eat in the pub - but used our hosts advice to sample some of the local cafes and restaurants of which there were many to choose from. It was a great small historic town with lots of interesting shops."

"We booked at random having struggled to find anywhere for a last minute break and were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Yes, parts of it could do with upgrading but we had booked a Feature Room based on the pictures on the website and we got the Crimson Room which has the most amazingly comfortable Four Poster bed, a lovely bathroom with double ended claw footed bath and super wonky floors. Sharon, who checked us in, and looked after us in the restaurant on the first night was super friendly and went out of her way to help. Food in the restaurant was tasty and plentiful both at dinner and at breakfast time. Extra bottles of water were provided for our room for overnight at our request. We slept well, the bed was very comfortable and although there were drinkers in the bar and outside on the street the noise quietened down early and didn't disturb us. Our only gripes really were the size of the car park - totally inadequate - and getting charged £5.20 for a pint of Coke. We were told this was on tap but it was charged as 16 ounces plus a 330ml bottle."
"I booked the winter deal, which was 3 course dinner for 2, bed and full English breakfast the following morning. We had the warmest of welcomes. Lovely room, nice comfortable bed. We had a fabulous dinner, food was delicious. The waitress was a gem ( a lady with mid length blonde hair, very chatty and sweet), she wished me a happy birthday and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had our dessert in the snug, a lovely cosy little corner of the pub. She had told us about how amazing the breakfasts were there. My husband and I couldn't wait to try it in the morning. We went down to have breakfast, to be told that the power in the kitchen had gone and there was no cooked breakfast available. All there was was tea, coffee, cereal and toast and a bowl of fruit on a help yourself basis. The waitress did apologise. Just such a shame that we never got to try it. Ended up going out for breakfast after we checked out. Adding more cost to our night away. Real shame. "
"We stayed at this hotel as it’s not too far from Benenden Hospital. We were checked in by Bryony who was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable cosy and warm, and our dinner that evening was very very tasty. It’s a very old hotel with a lot of history and a nice friendly bar area. I dropped my husband off at the hospital early and then returned for my wonderful breakfast. Again all the staff were very friendly and helpful as I was on my own. The hotel is based within the small town which I walked around the next day. Parking is ok but can be quite busy if a lot of guests are staying. A great hotel the food is brilliant and the staff very much to their credit."

"We came here for a birthday celebration, a table of 10 of us. The service was prompt and very friendly, there were no problems when a couple of us wanted to amend a dish and they were very accommodating. Will definitely be back. The only one issue that I could find is the veg and hummus platter is very small indeed, due to it being priced at almost £11 I only ordered one thinking it would be enough for us to nibble on but when it came it consisted of just three spring onions and around three carrots. Tasty but overpriced considering what came. Fortunately our lovely waitress, Amber, immediately brought us some extra pitta bread for the hummus dip so that there would be enough for us all to have a nibble while we looked at the menu. I think they should either lower the price or increase what you get because paying that money for such a small amount of veg is a bit off. Overall though we found the food to be lovely and good value."
"Had an overnight stay at the Ship and Trades, typical business overnight, arrive after 10 pm straight to bed, up first thing, breakfast, and the out the door. Pro: Great room, really cool, really comfy, great size, well appointed, really big balcony area. Really friendly and professional staff, both at the restaurant and check in desk. Great spot, right alongside the docks. Fast service, breakfast arrived really fast which when your rushing to catch a train is key. Cons: None really, I’d give the breakfast 8/10 overall good, perhaps a slightly higher quality sausage and some black pudding would have been nice Summary: Great stay would be very happy to go back "
"Fabulous spot by the marina in Chatham! Really friendly service. Great nautical themed rooms with big bath tub and good quality bed and bedding. Really friendly staff and service. Plenty of free parking. Gorgeous views. Included breakfast was luxurious including eggs benedict, pancakes with fruit and avocado on toast, very impressive! Lovely bar and resteraunt and close to historic dockyard. In addition they did not discriminate about my disability."

"A pleasant hotel. Have known it for years when it used to be The Stakis Hotel and it could have gone the way of being very dated, but it hasn't. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. "

"We have been to many Premier Inns around the country over the years, always found them very consistently excellent. COVID and lockdown changed our weeks away habits and this was our 1st trip this year, an experiment if you like, Premier Inn had sent emails outlining the care and changes they had made to accommodate the new ‘normal’, were these just words, were we ready to try.... soooo pleased we did, right from walking in the door we felt safe, it was obvious Premier Inn have gone to great lengths to protect us. The rooms have been stopped down a little bit the comfort is still there. A very warm welcome at reception through to a warm goodbye at the end of our stay. We will get back to our old habits as soon as possible, watch out Premier Inn we have some travel catching up to do. "
"Free parking, nice friendly welcome, The hotel is next to the river Medway and is quite a pictureque area. I have stayed previously, if you have a ground floor you always seem to hear people walking on the floorboards above which I also had this time. The room was clean and comfortable no problems. The onsite restaurant seems as if it could do with a makeover, shame as its in a nice area, the service was OK, the food was not great, the salad had gone off and looked if had been cut up the previous week and the food in general slopped together on the plate, its not Michelin star but at least have some pride in what you serve. I did show the waitress who did say sorry but that was it, the restaurant was very quite as well, but it is tucked away. Will give it one more chance as on previous occasions the restaurant lets the stay down."
"We stayed here for 4 nights in October. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and felt safe with the Covid safety that had been put in place. We had a ground floor room which was spotlessly clean (I always take antibacterial wipes and cleaned everywhere, no dirt to be found!) The cleaners had done a brilliant job. Bed comfortable. Free car park. The hotel is by the river and is very picturesque. Would definitely stay here again if in the area."

"We had an excellent stay at the Premier Inn. The family room was perfect for us, excellent price. Good to have a big TV in the room which we could all see. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed in it, our child appreciated the treats left in the room. The beds were really comfortable. Parking was good. We finished off our stay with a kids eat free, buffet breakfast next door which was also really good value for money. Thank you Premier Inn Maidstone staff we enjoyed our stay. "
"I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was a very enjoyable trip. The bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing, the room was spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk were so friendly and very quick to help out if needed. It was also very nice to go next door for a wonderful breakfast and I ate dinner there as well. The service was good as was the food."
"Our stay at this location was chosen due to its close proximity to a family occasion we were attending. We found the reception staff friendly & welcoming. Parking facilities were good and there were plenty of spaces. The room was large, clean and facilities on the whole good, although it could have been a bit warmer. The price we paid was good value for money."
