"We got away for a weekday 'overnight break' to Woodman Estate. Set in very picturesque and manicured grounds in a rural area of the Mornington Peninsular, and overlooking a beautiful private lake, Woodman Estate offers what I could only describe as good old-fashioned hospitality in elegant and charming surrounds. The property oozes old-world charm and is beautifully maintained. After a warm welcome at the front door, we were seated in the lounge to enjoy a nice cup of tea in front of the open fire (along some high-tea items hand-made by the in-house pastry chef!) For dinner (& lunch), the property offers formal dining in the intimate upscale dining room, and more casual dining in the bistro. The bistro dining room offers a relatively simple menu, but in my view really honest clean food. Something for everyone on this menu, and certainly substantial portions presented very elegantly. A superb wine list accompanied the dinner menu, with polished and attentive but unobtrusive waiter service at the table. Local produce here, and and open fire in the bistro made for a superb dinner. This was some of the best food we've enjoyed in Australia in a long time I have to say. The management and chefs' here have got it right! Breakfast was taken overlooking the lake in the bistro, with an al-a-carte cooked selection accompanying fresh fruit, cereals, juices, continental style items etc and selection of the estate's own 'fine foods' preserves on offer. After breakfast we enjoyed a short stroll around the grounds, where we observed an extensive kitchen garden utilised by the chefs, and a symphony of bird-life in the grounds. Peace and quiet abounds here. We really enjoyed Woodman Estate and will certainly be back for both the food and the hospitality. The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully furnished in keeping with the surrounds, with superb housekeeping. Our rooms was exceptionally clean. There is an on-site day-spa facility, Sadly our short stay didn't allow time to partake of these facilities, but next time we will look to stay longer. Highly recommended - with only a small number of rooms, 50 acres of grounds, attentive and professional staff AND excellent food, why would you head into a large corporate hotel?"
"My friends and I could not have been happier with our stay at Woodman estate. The customer service was immaculate from Rick and his team throughout: from booking, dining, spa services and through to check out. The girl's night away package add ons with spa treatment and brasserie dinner were great value and added to the supreme relaxation with everything available onsite and no need to drive or rush. The quality dining and excellent wine list did not disappoint and I was very well catered for as a vegetarian. The property is beautifully appointed and the setting is certainly picturesque - a twilight stroll around the lake and gardens after a generous dinner is a must! Also, nice to visit when there were lovely festive touches throughout the property done with elegance for the Christmas season. Highly recommended - we were sorry we had not booked a longer stay!"
"Booked a chalet and garden room. The chalet meets all expectations, simply charming. The aim was to relax and rejuvenate, that we did. Gorgeous lake cottage with gas log fire and spa with a view. A huge 4 poster bed screamed luxury. We chose the 3 course dining option in room which was amazing. Breakfast included and a choice of plates with fruit, coffee and juice. Finished our stay with a walk around the lake. Big Thank you to the service provided, particularly Ashlee, she really is a lovely lady and I appreciated the extra kind service. I hope others consider staying here, especially those after a romantic whimsical weekend."

"The room and bathroom are very large, but the breakfast is simple, but it is still good. It seems that there is a small city swimming pool. It has not passed. The hotel is not far from the place to eat and the supermarket. Mornington Island is very big. It is worth spending a few more. It’s a good day, there is a zoo on the island where you can take a photo of koala."
"The location is good, this motel room is very large, the interior layout of the room is very general, a bit old, it is important that this motel has a free breakfast, it is also very refined, and there is actually a heated indoor swimming pool."
"Because Ctrip is misleading (the hot spring is actually very far from the hotel, it is not 2 kilometers. It takes about half an hour to drive). So the hotel is fixed. The room is dark and the air conditioning is not good. The distance from the attractions is very far. The hotel staff is very good."

"I arrived by myself on a skate trip, the owner was so helpful! New refurbed rooms with the best shower I have ever had! Huge bed with smart tv and aircon, felt extremely comfortable staying here. And it’s just around the corner from a cool sports bar. Would definitely stay again. "
"Wow, if you’ve stayed at the Hastings Harbourview in the last 10 years you certainly would not recognise it now. Sanctuary Inn on Westernport is looking amazing. Stayed the night in one of the new rooms total luxury. Would recommend this property to anyone. "
"Summer holiday in Hastings as the gateway to numerous beaches, Merricks, Somers, Balnarring & the surf at Pt Leo. Motel room was great in a 42C day with air conditioner & ceiling fan working well to keep us cool. Pool was ok for a dip but not clean enough for a swim due to strong wind blowing in leaves & flowers. Massaging shower helped after golf at Devil bend & room had everything needed including free wifi, cutlery & clock."

"This motel isn't flash, no fancy toiletries but it offers good old-fashioned comfort just across the road from the Balnarring Village centre. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and were offered a discounted rate when I booked over the phone. While undoubtedly dated, the motel is spotless and very comfortable. Note that this area is extremely popular with Melbournians at weekends so be sure to book well in advance."
"Great location. The motel is close to both Balnarring and Somers beaches. The local shopping precinct is a 5 minute stroll, with coffee shops, bakery, supermarket etc. The room was basic but clean and with all the essentials such as a kettle, toaster, TV and DVD player."
"I stayed in Balnarring Village Motor Inn for 1 night for a business trip. At the first look the room was very clean and nice. Old stylish and smelled fresh well too. However after a closer look I notices a couple bull ants running on the carpet, then a few more on the walls ... then a few mosquitoes and a lot of tiny little insects at the all parts of the bedroom. In total a counted almost 10 bull ants. Totally recommend if you not afraid or don't care of bull ants."

"Have stayed here before and was satisfied. Booked and paid for via Qantas Hotels. No problems there. This time was really disappointed with the room deposit policy. They prefer a credit card and not debit cards. When they finally took my debit card they took $200 deposit and said the refund would take between 12 - 15 days to return the funds, claiming its the banks that hold the money and not them. Every other hotel I have stayed at accepts debit cards the same as credit cards. (in fact they are safer!). What's more, no hotel I have stayed at takes 15 days to return funds. Had a quick count up and I have stayed 67 nights away this year. Almost all hotels/motels return the funds the next day. How come yours takes so long??"
"Nightcap at The Cheeky Squire was just what I was looking for, a basic motel room for one night and I was pleasantly surprised to find that and a little extra in free mini bar and wifi. The mini bar wasn't much but it was a lovely surprise. The staff were exceptional, going out of their way to help me. My only complaint was that you had to either have a credit card or $200 cash up front which I wasn't told about & had to go get cash out of bank."
"We stayed here for 8 nights in July. It wasn’t busy as it was out of season. The room was clean and well kept. The shower was amazing once you got the temperature right. There was a fridge that was stocked daily with water and some beer. Even though there is a busy pub/ restaurant above the bedrooms, you could not hear the them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful."
