We had the best time for our 7v7 tournament weekend in College Station. The George was perfect, the rooms were great, beds were comfortable and all amenities were awesome. This was a cool swanky little hotel with a great swim area and a great bar. Even being as busy as they were, they were very kind and on top of it! On top of it being so great was the location, it had every style of food. So much so that you never really had to leave the area. They had Tex-Mex, burgers and a pizza place and even a Candy shop with all types of shopping around. It was great and we'll definitely be back again!

All these years of staying at The George, I’m writing a review to say… it’s still wonderful. The people are still helpful, articulate and pleasant. The area is still full of great shops and restaurants. Simply, it’s still the best. The premium price shows in the staff and the cleanliness of the area. Keep it up Valencia Group!

Love coming to the Embassy Suites when I need to to spend the night in BCS for medical appointments. The Hilton Conference Center is also a great place, I’d prefer Embassy due to the comfortable down to earth atmosphere. Their gym and other amenities are some of my favorite. Happy Hour til 730pm!!! Can’t go wrong and their restaurant/bar has the best staff!

Reviews From Real Travelers
Usually I stay at the La Quinta Inn and Suites on Earl Rudder when I’m in town, but I had recently stayed with a friend at a Home2 Suites in the Houston Area and found it pleasant, so when I saw there was one in College Station, I thought I would give it a try. It’s located close to campus — pretty much walking distance — which is a plus for family who might be visiting their kids at College. It also backs onto a mixed-use development with a lot of restaurant options, another strong positive. While Texas no longer has a mask ordinance for COVID-19, the CDC and state govt strongly encourage people to use them. This hotel has signs on the windows stating that masks are required, but the majority of guests seem to ignore it and I did not witness any staff requesting customers wear them (even when waiting in line to check in). One of the elevators was broken which meant 6-7 unmasked people crowding into an elevator despite the sign on the elevator door saying “2 people max”. I have a medical condition which places me at high risk, so I always wear a mask. I also take a daily injection which is required to be kept refrigerated, so I choose my travel accommodations partially on the availability of an in-room fridge. The Home2 Suites offer a partial kitchen — full sized fridge, dishwasher, plates and cups, sink and an available burner/pan. I stayed in room 509, but unfortunately the fridge and freezer in that room was not cooling. I tried turning the settings down lower but it still was not cooling. I called the front desk and advised them that it didn’t work, and made do with the small ice chest I carry with me when I travel. The rest of the room was OK. The king bed was comfortable, albeit they only give you two pillows and a decorative throw pillow. The walk-in shower was nice and hot water was ample. Water pressure was strong. Four sets of towels were provided, more than enough for a solo traveler. The plugs built into the nightstand didn’t work, which was annoying, but not a big deal. Overall the Home2 Suites isn’t a bad option when visiting town. Being close to campus and in walking distance to a number of restaurants is a big plus. Plus the couch makes into a sleeper sofa, perfect for larger families. For the price point I would have hoped that things were in better repair — especially when you market yourself as a facility for extended stays. I probably would not stay here again, but that’s based on my special needs. For a family visiting their college kids, it’s a good option and close to everything.

Myself and a colleague stayed at this hotel for 8 days in August. When we checked in, they were very busy due to a hurricane further south that people were getting away from. The room was decent, but a few issues: Urine stains on bathroom floor, lavatory faucet was very loose on sink and moved every time i touched it. Lavatory had hot and cold reversed. TV remote was not programmed to the TV, Telephone did not work (informed later that none of the room phones worked any longer), there was a box of opened condoms in the dresser drawer, the lavatory cabinet drawers were dirty and on a couple occasions, there was a dog barking in an adjacent room for hours. Due to the hurricane, there were no other rooms available to switch to, and due to Covid, room service was never completed on my room in over a week. I do not like to complain typically, but i do inform the management so they are aware and can address it. When i was checking out, i let the General Manager, Ms. Person know of the issues as well as the fact that the elevators were dirty, and the floor i was staying on had trash in the hall the entire stay. She argued with me and said she saw it being cleaned just yesterday, to which i pointed out the trash that was there for over a week. My main issue was the lack of accountability the management took. Ms. Person said why didn't you change rooms when you checked in then? (perhaps since there were no other rooms available?) I understand that in these times of limited travel and additional requirements related to COVID that some services have been reduced or cut, basic business survival, but to blame the guest for your failings seems like you are not really in the hospitality business. I have to travel extensively for business, I will be rethinking my choice of staying at this property in the future. As an additional point, i did try to contact Home2Suites to let them know my issues directly, i do not want to bash the good people that may make their living at this hotel, but after being on Hold for 25 minutes, and then being told the department i need to speak to was not answering, i gave up.
