"My husband gave me a night away as a gift so I could have some R&R. Being a mom of two under two, I was very much looking forward to a little time away on my own. I booked a Master Suite for the night. When I called to book it, the gentleman I spoke to (I didn't get his name) was very friendly. I explained the point of my stay was to get some rest, so I wanted a quiet area of the hotel, and ideally a night when they didn't have any events occurring on-site. The Delafield Hotel is known in the area for hosting wedding parties. The person I spoke with gave me a couple weekends where they didn't have any wedding parties booked, so I booked a night on one of those weekends. Natalie was the person working the front desk when I checked in. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was having a tough day. She was incredibly impersonal and I don't think she smiled once. I tried to make conversation and explained how much I was looking forward to staying at the hotel (my first time there) and how the person I talked to on the phone at the time of booking said there weren't any events occurring that night. She was short in her response just saying "Well, he's new." She gave me my room key and sent me on my way. I don't need a welcome wagon rolled out, but a smile and some brief conversation would have been nice. I went up to the room and was pleasantly surprised with the furnishings. The room was huge. The bathroom was perfect, complete with a huge tub (sidenote-- you're able to watch tv in the living room from the tub!). In terms of noise level, I heard some people in the hallway up through around 9, but after that it was quiet. The mini bar is nicely stocked, although I didn't purchase anything from it. I was happy to see a corkscrew was provided for use. I did order room service around 9 that night for a late dinner from the hotel's restaurant I.d. From my review of the menu, they were just trying way too hard. I ordered a Caesar salad, crispy brussel sprouts, and a flatbread. My favorite front desk person, Natalie, was also taking the restaurant's room service order. The flatbread I ordered was no longer available, so she offered its replacement, which was a mushroom one. The food arrived in a surprisingly brief period of time. The food was fine, with the exception of the flatbread. Way too much sauce, and frankly inedible. I brought it up at check-out the following day, and the girls at the front desk said they'd leave a note for the restaurant manager because they didn't have access to those charges (which I thought was odd, since it's the in-house restaurant). I did receive a voicemail from the restaurant manager later that day saying he removed the flatbread charge from my bill. The food was ok, but I would have much preferred a club sandwich, which is typically a staple with hotel room service menus. Overall, the stay at the Delafield Hotel was decent. The attitudes of the staff jus"
"I love the Delafield. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the hotel is so clean and smells wonderful, the rooms are fantastic!! Had a super romantic, relaxing birthday stay! Check in was quick and easy, our room was ready early and plenty of parking. We walked to the nearby salon for a pedicure and dinner at a great Italian restaurant. Looked forward to spa tub...unfortunately it wasnt working properly but we made best of it. I did let someone know at check out. The shower is fabulous and I love that you can dim the lights in bathroom. There was a wedding at the hotel that night and we were woken up by some loud guests and slamming doors but I dont fault the hotel for that. We did use the guest pass at the fitness center, it is fantastic and has the best equipment! We will be back!! "
"Very clean upscale stay. We only slept there and did not use the spa or visit the restaurant, but everything was very nice and high quality. Higher than other places in the area, but worth it to us. The decorating is contemporary and well done and the bedding was very nice. Spa tub and Kohler showcase shower."
