At the end of our cruise, we wanted an hotel close to the airport, but near to the beach. After researching the area we decided on dONNA hotel conveniently located on the beach about 10 minutes to the airport. What a find! It is quite a funky, boutique hotel with it blue lighting in the dark hallway, and open plan bathroom. The room had sleek lines and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed sitting out on the balcony which overlooked the pool, boardwalk and beach. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant and accommodating. This hotel also has a restaurant, Margeny, where we ate, and the meal was delicious. We had an early flight but discovered that we could have eaten breakfast there. We do not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We had a family wedding in Barcelona and we were recommended to stay here as the ‘best hotel’ in this location and it was rated as 4 stars. Whilst I normally stay at top hotels, as this was recommended I thought how bad can it be not being a 5 star….. Turned up at the hotel, nobody to help take the cases into the hotel. My wife and I struggled but got the cases up to reception. There was one lady, and two current guests ahead of us complaining about various things. After 15 minutes we check in and are given our room key and told to go to the 1st floor (again we take our cases). We had paid extra for a sea view, the room cost about £580 for 3 nights, you could nearly swing a cut in there, there was a single hanging wardrobe with no door, a tiny shower at the back of the bed which it over looks, they have tried to be creative but have definitely not used a professional designer for the layout. Within the hour we had realised whilst we are here for a wedding we still want to do various tourist things and it would cost c. 40 euros every time we go into Barcelona. We went online and found Nobu hotel for less than 700 euros (for the 120 euros more you can’t compare) I ordered an Uber and went to check out (I knew I was not getting my money back and didn’t even ask), however they had the audacity to tell me to pay for the tax for our stay………. I said to them ‘are you joking’…….. our cab 3rrived and we walked out. There was a cheaper hotel directly next door that family stayed at that was even better, nicer reception etc, they moved over to the Donna after 5 days (as when they booked the original trip the other hotel could only accommodate them for 5 days) and they said the rooms at Donna were so much smaller. The hotel asked them for feedback at the end and they commented about the rooms and lack of wardrobe space, the lady said ‘the management won’t care about those comments’ 3 star hotel at best in my opinion

Hotel Playafels has been a 'landmark' of Castelldefels for decades serving as a hall for weddings, NYE parties, etc. It has been recently renovated and it overlooks the beach. We were impressed to see the 4 star rating, but after staying there for ten days, we concluded it still has some work to do before it can be considered as such. Much like any other experience in life, much of the impression one has of institutions, restaurants, etc. is about the attitude of the staff who face the public. If the receptionist is accommodating, we'll walk away thinking 'hotel Playafels' is great, etc. We did not expect of a 4-star hotel to ask us to bring our bottle of wine down to the reception area to be opened when we asked for a corkscrew... Instead, we expected the hotel to offer / send us a 2 Euro corkscrew (in fact, why wasn't there one as part of the mini bar in the first place?). When you have rooms with big balconies overlooking the ocean, wouldn't it be predictable this would be a needed accessory? We ended up buying one from around the corner but the question remained: ”would a 4-star hotel deny its guests a corkscrew?”. We think not. Other items that made it fall short of its 4-star rating: holding back on providing coffee pods ”for fear that people might steal them for their consumption at home” is what a maid shared. Wait, people would come here and pay the equivalent of $150 per night to take coffee pods home? Something does not add up there... A 4-star hotel does not make its guests ask at reception for coffee pods before making their way up to their rooms at night... And, lastly, masks were not enforced 100% of the time at reception area and the connecting restaurant. Many a times we witnessed staff being too lax about it at the height of the current pandemic. And we were never asked to present our vaccination card or even verbally to declare our vaccination status. Hotel Playafels is endearing to us and we want it to prosper; but they still need to do some work before the 4-star rating can be believed completely.

Stayed here for 1 night as we had a problem with our flight and wish it was longer. Booked a standard double room and got upgraded to the suite! The suite is the turret castle like building at the side of the hotel. It has stairs as you walk in which leads up to the bathroom area and bedroom, then another set of stairs which leads you up to a tv room with sofa , mini bar and table etc. Then another flight of spiral stairs up to the amazing roof terrace with the most amazing views ! You can see all the way across to Barcelona! All of the rooms have the most amazing sea views! I honestly cant describe how good this room was and we didn’t want to leave it! The rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean and modern. Pool area was nice and they even have suncream bottles at the side of the pool which I think was a nice touch. Hotel in a really central location to all of the delicious restaurants in the area. Reception staff were good. Didn’t use the hotel restaurant so cant comment on the food in there. Really amazing stay and will definitely return in the future!

Fab hotel! Rooms were very clean, the hotel includes a free pool, gym & sauna. Staff on desk were lovely and very welcoming. Hotel is right next to a kfc, Burger King, mc Donald’s & shopping centre. Only faults I would say is that the room looked slightly different to the picture, it was meant to have a sofa in and a runner along the bed, without this it made it look very bare. It’s about a 10-15 min walk from the train station which leads you into Barcelona however if you are wanting to go into Barcelona everyday I would recommend getting a hotel closer! It takes about a hour in total to get there, great hotel if you are only wanting to go into the centre 1-2 times whilst you are there. Due to this I probably wouldn’t stay again/if I did it would only be for one night. The breakfast was very disappointing! €26 for 2 people which was for one day however there was only bacon, sausages, veg & egg. No vegetarian option for the meat and not much variety at all, the pastries were nice and so was the juice however definitely not worth the price! There is a lovely strip which is full of bars next to the train station, also a lidl round corner from hotel which is very handy.

From check in to check out, we had a beautiful stay. The room was lovely with perfect air conditioning. The staff were helpful and always had a smile. The pool area was stunning. Bus stop just outside the hotel to take you into Barcelona on the E95 bus. There is a huge mall just a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was nice, quite small but convenient. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It was truly a wonderful stay

I took my team to Hotel Bel Air on a business trip. Fantastic hotel in every aspect. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are super smart with great views of the ocean. The rooftop bar is a must. Especially at sunset and then you’re provided with a heater! The restaurant is equally amazing. Good superb. You must try the cheesecake. Finally do book breakfast. It’s brilliant. We will be back!!!!!

Good location being across the road from the beautiful sandy beach. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast Buffett was good with lots of choice. Pool area nice. Good Air con I would stay in the area again as I really liked the place. There are some beautiful restaurants with lots to choose from and the beach is just beautiful. I would not choose this hotel again , it definitely is not a 4 star more a 3 star. The rooms are very tired and in need of renovation as are the public areas. There is a stale smell in the corridors which wasn’t very pleasant. All in all had a very enjoyable stay but would stay elsewhere if I was to visit in the future due to the above. I feel the hotel is overpriced for the standard of accommodation.

The hotel is very well located and easy to access with a fantastic view, a beautiful swimming pool and a very well-amenated spa. The staff is very pro and very welcome, always laughing. The room and bathroom is clean and well cleaned.
- SACHA
The hotel is on the hillside, and the environment is okay. The soundproofing effect of the room is a bit poor, and the lighter sleep may have some influence. A little distance from the airport. In the early morning, the taxi fare is much higher than usual.

Lovely and clean hotel and was much better then expected. Breakfast was actually a surprise as there was a hot option as well as continental available, The mushrooms are amazing! Pool wasn't open yet at least it didn't look as though it was not that it bothered us as we came to visit a friend who lives nearby. There were four of us sharing a room and it was pretty spacious. Beach is a short walk away. Only thing is heating was on full pelt on the first night and we couldn't work out how to turn it off but that was quickly resolved the next day. We all liked Eric on reception too :)

Nice structure in a very calm area, 5 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants, wide room, excellent shower and mattresses, good wifi. Breakfast is extraordinary, with an impressive variety and excellent quality with fresh and dried fruits, soy milk, sautéed vegetables, beans, cakes etc. The hotel has no parking but in the winter you can park free of charge along the street except Saturday and Sunday.

It is convenient to park on the roadside during the off-season, and it’s hard to say in the peak season, but you can park in the hotel’s underground parking lot for money. Suitable for children, the duplex house is very suitable for a family. I come to live here every year.
- CHEN
The service attitude is generally the same, it is close to our office, about 15 minutes drive from the airport, there is no subway nearby, there is a bus to the city center of Spain Square, about 20 minutes walk, the number of vehicles is less, if there is no traffic jam, then Spain Square needs 40 minutes to open
