Viale Cavagnet 31, Cogne, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"This hotel was fabulous for our two night stay in a Romantic Room with a pleasant balcony looking across the pasture towards the Gran Paradiso summits. Staff are simply amazing and professional in all they do for guests. Room 202 was very comfortable but we were surprised there was no facility in the room for making a hot drink. I thought a Romantic Room might have had a few romantic treats such as wine on arrival and chocolates on the pillows at night. Our breakfasts and dinners were of the highest quality but dinner was almost a fast food experience. All in all, a wonderful place to stay."
"We stayed at this hotel in Cogne for the second time, the first being in 1997. We remembered wonderful things about it, and the reality this time was even better than we thought! We felt very well cared for because of the splendid food and service for three meals a day! And the view from our hotel window was fantastic! We were able to go on a different mountain walk every day for five days. And the sense of joy in the small town of Cogne was palpable! Wonderful for families! And couples! The picture is the view from the hotel window."
"Got a one-night stay in romantic room from my husband for my birthday, found it amazing! October is a low season for th region but the hotel was cozily and comfortably occupied. Spa had wonderful small size varieties to try out; receptionist efficient with precision, barman charming and friendly, room quiet with breathtaking view; massage so relaxing that I almost forgot who I was☺... in short, I know where I can resource in the future."

Rue Grand Paradis 22, Cogne, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"Bellevue is located at the foot of Gran Paradiso National park. The park itself is absolutely stunning so is the hotel. Very special place. We have been coming here for the last 3 years and cannot wait to return. The hotel has a very large and beautiful spa, it also has the best restaurants in the region, absolutely delicious food. All restaurants offer the highest quality menu with interesting dishes. Every afternoon at 4:30pm they serve delicious tea with delicious &fresh cookies and little cakes by the fire place. It’s a very special time. Guests can come and enjoy the warmth of the place and special atmosphere. The cleanliness of the hotel is out of this world. I simply cannot describe how clean and well kept this place is. The hotel also offers very helpful free shuttle service (with electric mini bus/car) to nearby villages around cogne. The staff are very professional and well trained. Laura is the best host in the world without exaggeration. I have never seen a person running a place so well and consistently improving service. "
"Over the last 20 years we have stayed in many excellent hotels and eaten at many highly recommended restaurants. This hotel exceded all expectations. The location offers stunning views of the mountains and with that sunsets and sunrises. The food and wine reflects the local culture and is exceptional. The spa is one of a kind, it has to be experienced to be believed. The thought and careful planning to create such an amazing space over two floors is second to none. "
"The best combination of local food, wines and an amazing SPA services! I would suggest a 2 or 3 days stop over here to relax and really amuse in the spa and trying a great local food experience in the 3 restaurants of the hotel."

Loc. Torrent de Maillod 1, Villair-Amerique, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"Outward appearances are a well appointed chic Hotel. We stayed in the main building so I can't comment on the Chalets. Booked through Booking.com and choose because it was advertised as Pet friendly and having a restaurant. First problem was the restaurant wasn't open at this time of year, which we were advised of in advance, but had already booked by then. On arrival we were told pets were only allowed in the Chalets because of the carpets in the hotel. I pointed out my dog did not moult! Surely it would be hoovered anyway!? Our room was small, stuffy and had little natural light as the Window was at ceiling level above the bed. There was no lift...difficult with an elderly husband. The shower was tiny...you could just about move in it and vending down was impossible. At 87 euros including the dog this was extremely poor value compared with tonight's stay in a Ibis at 48 euros for a very comfortable room. Chosen for its location not to be recommended."
"Such a lovely location! The staff is so welcoming and friendly! The chalet has everything you need! Please have your dinner at Saulle Re! Such good food and kind staff! An amazing experience! Next time i'm travelling through Italy, i'm coming back to both for sure!"
"Wow! Returning to England from Prato, booked on booking.com. Free upgrade to a cabin! Absolutely stunning. Clean, tidy and with spectacular views of the mountains, a welcome rest after 6 hours on the Harley. Well recommended "

Corso Battaglione Aosta 30, Aosta, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"Beautiful village!!! The hotel was cozy and the staff friendly. The rooms are big and clean. Great shower and they have products in the bathroom. Big and comfortable bed. Beautiful front view of the Italian Alps from the room window. The air conditioning was regular, not cool, fresh. The breakfast was ok but not much variety. The village is quiet and safe to walk. Like 10 minutes walk you have a variety of places to eat and drink some wine. The stores apparently close early."

Località Saint Benin 1/B - Pollein, Pollein, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"This was one of our most memorable stays we loved it so much we extended for three more nights We loved the location being just out of the town center made it nice and quite and the views of the mountains was breathtaking We brought tickets to the spa and was so glad we did we used it each night we were there beautifully designed and really nice salt room to relax in after a sauna and steam room The breakfast was very enjoyable and plenty to choose from and the service was some of the best we had in Europe It’s was nice to have a restaurant just below our accommodation and we dine here each night Parking was free which is a bonus This place was a perfect stop for us and we both said we would definitely return here "
"Only stayed one night but it was perfect. Especially the private spa. Would have loved it even more if it had a mini swimming pool. One negative about the room was how noisy the AC and people walking up and down the corridor. "
"We were very happy to discover this friendly family run hotel. A wonderful welcome which immediately put us at ease. Quiet, easy to get to, good parking, nice restaurant downstairs’ ,clean quiet spacious rooms. We’ll be back."

Via Malherbes 18/A, Aosta, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"I will disclose my preconception (based on experience) first. Italian hotels are very often disappointing for the price paid. It's a hotel market unlike the rest of Europe - out dated, old fashioned style, relatively unchallenged by the positive (and negative) changes brought by the bigger hotel groups over the past 15 years. I would have rated HB Aosta average anywhere else, but I have tipped it up a notch because I really doubt I would have found anywhere better for the price. It is the 3rd hotel that I have stayed at in the Val d'Aosta in the past year, and each has confirmed my experience. Positives: - staff are lovely across the board (except when exasperated by their guests' dietary requirements) - location is fantastic. Right in the old town, but set one alley back meaning a peaceful setting. Be aware that you need to pass through the first set of 'no cars' signs when entering what seems to be a pedestrian street. After 40m, before the full no-entry sign, you turn left down a signposted alley to find the hotel - rooms are functional and modern. Good coffee machines. - late check-out for a reasonable supplement was helpfully agreed. So what are the problems: - it's not cheap. I paid €200 per night for a large room (junior suite). In fairness, all the extras were minimal cost (parking €5, reasonable drink prices, coffee machines on tap etc). Also other hotels in Aosta seem to be pricier than you would expect for a small European city. - 2 mornings out of 4 we had no hot water. That's a big fail for a hotel. - breakfast was OK range, but odd quality. Scrambled eggs were delicious but ranged from tepid to actually fridge cold. Do they make them the night before? - the pillows on the bed were so uncomfortable. Like slabs. One was too few, 2 was too much. Slept v v badly. Strangely, I have rarely seen slab pillows like this except in BOTH the other hotels I stayed at in the Val d'Aosta. Is it a local thing? - the hotel describes itself as 'a new hotel with modern rooms'. It's not new. I would be surprised if it is less than 5 years old, more like 10. The grouting around the bath was black. - set menus for dinner were a hassle. I have big sympathy that we were a group with varying requirements, but this is their business. You just offer a vegetarian alternative for every course. Unfortunately, it just felt much more complicated. I told the hotel 3x that we didn't eat pork. We were served veal. Fried with bacon. Explaining again that we don't eat pork received the reply 'I know. That's bacon'. So no main course for me... Likewise offering octopus on a no-choice menu without a vegetarian alternative is very odd in 2019. Overall, the food quality was OK - but their set menu approach needs thought. I would stay again (possibly bringing my own pillows). I saw nothing better in Aosta, and plenty worse."
"Firstly all reviews are personal opinion. My opinion differs from others such as JT who may have higher expectations than me. I had no issues with the pillows, they were fine. If I had I may have asked the hotel for a replacement instead of writing a review on trip advisors about it & for any other issues for that matter. I stayed in HB Aosta as part of a package with an Interski week long package. We had no complaints during our stay & enjoyed our visit. The hotel itself is definitely not ski in/ski out. There was about a 20 min walk to the Interski rental to pick up gear & the first cable car is about a 30 min journey to the first signs of snow. It was unusually hot March 2019. However the hotel is in a great location for the town with its variety of bars, restaurants, cafes & shops The hotel was very clean, comfortable & accommodating. All staff were very friendly greeting us with a smile every day. Our room was a small twin on the 4th floor with everything we needed for our stay including a fridge, safe, tv with sky & a shower room. A couple of mornings the shower had to be run for a while before the hot water arrived. Breakfast had a variety of choice & was buffet style, coffee & juice on tap. Dinner was a set menu with about five choices from the 1st,2nd & dessert courses. There were also specials available each day, handy as the main menu didn't appear to change from one day to the other. The food itself was good quality & presented well. The staff were also willing to make changes when requested Our overall opinion was one of satisfaction with no real negative views. We would not hesitate to book again if visiting Aosta"
"Actually easy to find and GPS took us there: drive straight on to walking street from Plaza Republica, first driveable left turn (first is a dead end alley) there is also a small hotel sign on the wall, right at the end and you are there. Pull to the left of the building to the barrier and stop. The desk will open the barrier and you are in parking... 8 euro/day, 5 euro if you book through hotel website. Nice rooms, good free wi-fi, Keurig coffee make and hot water pot, fully controllable a/c, laptop sized safe, mini-fridge but no washcloths or kleenex. Plastic drinking “glasses”. Standard free brekkie. All in all just a fine place to stay. We had an end room suite Rm534 and the shower was in the TV/Lounge portion of the suite...unique. Funny thing...I looked at the hotel satellite view and thought that the hotel bordered Roman Ruins...but it was just a communal garden."

Via Clavalité, 20, Aosta, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"My friend and I enjoyed 4 nights’ half board here, and it was a delight. From our welcome at arrival, everything was perfect. Comfortable rooms, of course, an amazing choice of buffet breakfast, delicious dinner menu, and very good selection of wines, with most attentive service. All staff were genuinely committed to providing a contented guest experience, and it was a family friendly hotel, also. In addition, the hotel boasts a gym, jacuzzi, and indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel is slightly further from the town centre than some, but was within easy walking distance for us. We thoroughly recommend it to all visitors to Aosta"
"We had booked through a ski tour company and I feel that this greatly affected the way we were treated; the staff did not seem to want us here. Whilst the hotel itself is very pretty and only a 15 minute walk from town (though half an hour from the ski lifts) the rest of our stay was most disappointing: the hotel was unbearably hot - even members of staff commented on this; they complained that we made too much noise though regularly hosted parties of 70+ people, which continued well into the night. However, the worst was dinner. We were not allowed to see the full menu and were only given two options, which were often just pasta in a very basic sauce - given that we were in Italy, I expected a lot better and not something my uni housemates might make. We were forced to wait a very long time between courses, which were very small. On a couple of nights we went out for kebabs. Also, one of our party was a vegetarian and they regularly had no option for him. The food was, frankly, disgusting. It was cold, or undercooked or had no taste. If you book directly with the hotel, you may be treated well. Certainly there were other guests, whom the staff doted on and they all seemed to enjoy the food. Nevertheless, we did not enjoy our stay and I cannot recommend staying at this hotel."
"A nice hotel in the alpine town of Aosta. Has an outdoors swimming pool. Private parking area. Historical city center reachable on walk. Rooms are clean, comfortable. Breakfast choice is wide. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food."

Via Ponte Romano 27, Aosta, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
"We stayed here for several nights this summer as we were exploring Mt. Blanc and related areas. The hotel is located very close to the edge of the old town and is itself in a historic area just next to the beautiful historic footbridge shown in the photos. Our room was on the top floor and had a lovely balcony and window with views of the mountains. The room was simple but very clean. Perhaps the nicest part of this hotel is the charming family that owns the hotel. The family has owned it "forever" and continues to be operated by the family. We came to appreciate the hotel even more after we heard their story, as well as the explanation of the historic photos in the stairwells (I'll let you ask them about that!). Breakfast is served on the lower terrace next to the old bridge. It is okay, not luxe. If you like a small family hotel this is a good choice if you are not looking for luxury, but want a good location. For those with cars, there is pay parking available in public spaces. We parked our car on the street for free with little problem to find a spot in July."
"I have just stayed 9 days in Val D’Aosta using Aosta as my base. I stayed at Hotel Cecchin. What a wonderful small hotel right next to Ponte Romano and 5 min walk into the main town. The rooms were very clean with a lovely charm. Bathrooms spotless. Breakfast was terrific. I could park the car in the Hotel’s underground car park about 30m away for reasonable daily fee. Free parking not easy to find and after a long day out who wants that worry. Their location meant easy access out of Aosta when I wanted to visit castles or the National Park. The best part was the kind and helpful attention by the owners and their sons. They were terrific and nothing was too much trouble. Great value for money and so nice to be in a hotel with owners on site. Thank you everyone for making my stay so good."
"Hotel is ideally situated for a 10 minute walk into town central, start of the Roman ruins trail and main bus station. The Francigena Way walk passes the door. Good size room with a large balcony containing table and two chairs. Bed firm to lay on ~ only single pillows which were thin and hard. Even though midday temperature was 29 degrees, management deemed it was not hot enough to operate the rooms aircon (controller removed from the room ) Due to traffic noise, the windows had to be shut resulting in a stuffy nights sleep. Maybe the paying customer should be saying when aircon is required ~ not the hip pocket! Cold buffet style breakfast from 8.00am. Helpful staff at reception ~ limited English spoken. "
