"The new owners Steve and Karen were very welcoming and friendly. This was our first stay at this hotel but it definitely won't be our last. The rooms were clean and very well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities in the room even fruit teas were available. There was full availability at breakfast with full range of cereals juice, yoghurts and Full english cooked to perfection. The property is in a lovely position with ample street parking and only a short walk from peasholme park and the open air theatre. They are very knowledgable about the area and gave us a great reccomendation for an Indian restaurant in the town were we had a beautiful meal. Nothing was too much trouble for Steve and Karen and we wish them every success ."
"We stayed with Karen and Steve new owners October 2020 for 3 days very professional and very helpful and friendly ,all the food we had was delicious especially his PANCAKES mmm.He did a lite bite at night which was very helpful with the COVID VIRUS so saved us going out for a meal at night . The whole hotel was spotless and plenty of hand sanitizers about . Would recommend anyone to stay at THE HEADLANDS 100%."
"Had an excellent 3 days away at the Headlands Steve and Karen were fantastic hosts and really looked after us the room was spotless with a plenty of drawer space and a large comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent with local produced bacon and sausage and plenty of it. felt very safe there and can't wait to stay again."

"My husband and I stayed here and it was excellent. The staff on arrival were pleasant and the Managwr Steven a great host. The rooms are immaculately clean and cosy and the dining area and rest areas have an air of opulence and relaxing feel. The food is excellent and my husband commented it is the best English breakfast he had ever eaten. We highly recommend this hotel in the centre of Scarborough - easy access to all amenities and beach with good parking facilities. We look forward to our next stay here."
"We recently had afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary and had an excellent experience. I had the traditional menu and my husband the gentleman’s choice and the food was delicious and super quality.. The ambiance of the hotel is delightful, calm and peaceful and the waitress was very helpful, polite and professional. Would highly recommend you give the Palm Court afternoon tea a try, we will certainly be returning."
"Delicious beautifully presented food Warm inviting friendly welcome Serene atmosphere Tranquil setting and ambiance Impeccable service from laura and David Totally faultless absolutely recommend "

"A party of six of us ate here on a Friday evening. Took a long time for our drinks order to be taken and a long time before they arrived. Small menu and a specials board. Two of us ordered mussels to start but were later informed they could not be served as they failed to open. I was quite happy about this as it shows their standards and integrity. We had to order replacement starters which caused a bigger delay. It would have been nice if they had brought out some bread whilst we waited this extra time. Starters were good when they came and I found the hake tapa to be especially good. Mains were 4 steak, chicken and a burger. At 25 pound each I expected more from the 10oz ribeye. My steak was ordered medium rare but was overcooked. Tasty enough but not worth the money. The blue cheese sauce was lacking in flavour. Desserts came, except one which was late, and they were very good. Chocolate brownie, sticky toffee pudding and a special crumble. A request was made for custard which they said they did not do. Found this hard to believe, the kitchen was not even consulted. None of the food was bad, some was very good, the rest ok. Service was slow but friendly and polite. They knocked 30 off the bill in comp for replacement starters and late dessert. This was unexpected but a great gesture. "
"We stayed at the Plough as part of a party of 6 for two nights. Two members stayed in the hotel the rest in Sunbeam Cottage. From the moment we arrived to when we handed in our keys to leave we could not fault the Plough, its staff and the service offered quality – first class from start to finish. All of the rooms had been beautifully decorated with a real eye for quality, design and attention to detail. On our first night we ate in and the food great just what we were hoping for. The bar had a good selection of local ales, which finished off the evening. The stay was so good that two of us have to be back in Scarborough in 6 weeks time and we will definitely be back at the Plough to repeat the experience."
"stayed in sunbeam cottage with my wife a welcome break from children..the cottage is the nicest place I've ever stayed and we are on the road a lot.attention to detail is immaculate.. fluffy pillows powerful hot shower coffee machine smart tv soundbar leather chesterfields free standing bath 2 gardens..etc.. too much to mention.. Restaurant the same quality and attention to detail..crab linguine and steak out of this world..the host with the sequin mask was really friendly with a sequin mask ..made us really welcome gave us a few soft drinks to take back to sunbeam ..all social distancing made very slick and not awkward..well done..100% will be back🏆"

"This is a hidden gem...its a stonker of a hotel and deserves to be much better known in the local area. This hotel is unique - Peter & Stacie (and their children) have made a beautiful property into a lovely, welcoming hotel. Its old...so don't go if you want corporate polish and shine, but for me - what wanted was an overnight stay for my parents and they LOVED IT! The welcome was warm and friendly, the room (Coach House 5) was brilliant - superking bed, huge walk in shower, lovely furnishings...the only issue was the faulty coffe / hot chocolate pod machine in the room which didn't work (much to the upset of my son!) The bar was quaint - all wooden panelled and olde worlde chairs - Peter was a bar man extraordinaire (until he took over for dinner in the kitchen) and kept us all very much entertained. We had dinner at the hotel which - as the hotel itself was was full - the dining room deserved to be "fuller" - we all had starters and mains and not even my dad (famed for his love of puddings) could quite manage dessert. The waitresses were both very young (goodness do I sound old!) and perhaps the dining room could benefit from a very light oversight - for example we ordered a Shiraz and was bought a white wine and we did rather have to wave frantically to be offered a wine list, but the girls were charming and obviously trying very hard After we left my mum and dad sat in the bar with other residents and Peter and it sounded like they had a hoot. We asked for a cab back to PV and instead of calling one the hotel ran us back - AMAZING! The bed (I am told) was super comfy...the bathroom shower great and breakfast apparently epic - one of the best they'd had I loved the quirkiness of this place - they do weddings and I can imagine that hiring this place out for your "do" would be super given the atmosphere and attention to detail in this utterly charming place. Mum and dad hav already said they will be back whenever they come to visit now! Huge thank you's to the whole team your hospitality was both amazing and much appreciated"
"Called in for Sunday lunch whilst in the area. Excellent food and service . I do like a nice Yorkshire pud with my meal and I was not disappointed . Generous portions and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Will be back again. Cannot comment on the hotel rooms since we didnt stay , but the whole atmosphere of the place is serene and welcoming."
"Had a wonderful evening of food and drinks, a 7 course meal including duck, and lobster tagliatelle which was delicious, great drinks too, so many gins to choose from! We stayed in a suite it was excellent and we had a fabulous nights sleep. Breakfast next day was a lovely treat too and set us both up for the day. Highly recommended."

"We stayed here for a 3 night break. We were initially given room 122, and were horrified to find that the only window had obscured glass. The window only opened by around an inch, and all we could see through the small gap was scaffolding, due to the ongoing building work. We went straight to reception to ask for another room and were told that the hotel was full. However, by around 9pm on the first evening, we received a phone call from reception to say that we could move rooms. This time, we were given room 102, which had a lovely floor to ceiling window and was on the front of the hotel. We were very grateful that the reception team could resolve the problem so quickly. The rest of our stay here went well. The room was typical of a Premier Inn, with clean modern bathroom and comfy bed. The Brewers Fayre next door was great for breakfast. The location is great, close to town and a few minutes from the cliff lift down to beach level. There is a car park over the road which charges £10 a day, very secure and locked overnight. Overall, we enjoyed our stay."
"Stayed here for one night as our Caravan holiday had been cancelled due to COVID. We had room 221 which on first impressions hadn't been cleaned even to normal standards never mind “premier inn clean protect” dust, stains in the loo. The floor boards were a joke in ours and other rooms if it wasn't us making noise it was the floor above, no fault of theirs but keeps you awake. We were out most of the day after checking in so when we got back put our son to sleep and got into the bed which was extremely creaky. So between the floorboards and the bed got no sleep which is a nightmare when your supposed to enjoy your night away with family. Went for breakfast the next morning in the hotel bar and got seated here (pics attached if you zoom in you can see the dust where the lamp is WHATS THE KITCHEN LIKE!) its ROTTEN thick of dust, table was still sticky. Got two breakfasts £18 which were swamped in grease, overcooked and my fiancés had a hair in. I had eaten a quater of mine and she hadn't touched hers after finding the hair. I asked for a refund and was told I could only have the breakfast replaced. When I was checking out I was not asked if enjoyed my stay and there was a que behind me so didn't want to stand there and mention all of the above. I rang premier in to complain and I was told because I didn't highlight these issues at the time, bearing in mind I didn't find out about the creaky bed until I got into it at 10 o'clock and my son was already asleep. The good night guarantee didn't stand and as a good will gesture for the breakfast I was offered a voucher for a Brewers Fair. To be honest I would never out of choice go to a Brewers Fair especially after that experience. It states on there website that you have 7 days to complain which I have done, to be honest it shouldn't be up to me to tell them that their bed is broken and the floor boards are ridiculously loud. They are things which shouldn't be like that for guests arriving to enjoy there stay not spend there time at reception complaining. Wont use this hotel again will try one of the nearby hotels instead."
"Just back from a 3 night stay, location was great for us,car park across the street which is free after 6pm & always plenty of room, shops literally around the corner, train station about 5 mins walk, seafront about 5-10 mins or you can use the Victorian tram next to the grand hotel only £1.20 each way if you can't do the hills. All the staff in premier inn & brewers fayre were always friendly & smiling, hotel & restaurant were always clean, our room was spotless & we are definitely coming back for another stay."

"After reading the reviews on TA we decided to book in for one night and try a different hotel as we stay over in Scarborough quite a bit. The hotel was spotless throughout and a nice welcome from the owner on arrival. We booked a B&B deal with a sea view room on floor 3. The room was basic but immaculate, we found the mattress was a bit firm but this would not put us off booking again. Breakfast was served including cereal, juices etc. The breakfast was really nice and served by friendly and well presented staff unlike a larger spa hotel in town!! Parking outside the hotel was easy and we had a parking disc from the hotel. Looking forward to returning sometime."
"Fantastic hotel with a super friendly team! Amazing room with a stunning view, great evening AND breakfast menu, where everything was cooked fresh! Delicious!! PLUS exceptional value ☺️ Parking also taken care of by means of permit...would highly recommend! #definitelygoagain "
"Another superb stay at the Weston Hotel. Very obliging staff and management. Very well maintained. Nothing to fault here. You wont be disappointed. Great location ideal for walking into town. Great views over the bay down to the harbour and castle. "

"Had booked a short-break at this Travelodge some months before and decided to go ahead with stay and leave prior to lockdown starting. Staff very friendly and helpful, hotel very quiet but facilities provided what we needed. Room cleaning suspended due to COVID-19 social-distancing precautions but that did not bother us - all extra supplies and towels etc available from reception when we needed them 24hrs per day. We had breakfast one day which was excellent with staff very friendly and efficient. This Travelodge is in an excellent location with lovely views and is great base for exploring Yorkshire coast; - Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey, Bridlington and on to the North Yorks Moors. Hotel is 5mins walk from town centre and 10mins from Scarborough seafront. Reduced rate parking is available for guests right outside front of hotel (effectively £5 for day, valid up to 1330 next day). We originally paid just over £150 for five nights which was excellent value, we had to leave a day early due to lockdown starting but this nights charge is being refunded."
"Had lovely stay here. Nice room with lovely sea view. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very central great for getting about. Scarborough itself is very pleasant. Peasholme park lovely to visit and a nice place for a pleasant walk. Will be back had a lovely weekend here with friends"
"Stay at this hotel quite often usually on a Sunday when especially out of season you can get exceptionally low room rates. Louise who checked us in yesterday was friendly and informative. We have recently paid low as £25 to stay on Sunday night which us very low rate for Scarborough. The room was okay and the breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice. Will continue to use this hotel. "

"Looking at the Blacksmiths Arms from the outside and when you walk in you may not expect the gem that it is. Booked a table of 6 adults and two children and no one was disappointed in the food. Piping hot, delicious and served with a smile. The staff are excellent, friendly and attentive to all your needs. The menu is good and has a lot of options for all the family as well as a children’s menu on offer. We had a good selection of the menu and there wasn’t a single poor dish. Yorkshire pudding starter was amazing and plentiful, the garlic mushrooms were tasty but the Barnsley Lamb Chop was the standout meal for me. Perfectly cooked to my liking served with a brilliant selection of seasonal vegetables and chips. Also the standout dessert was the Salted Caramel cheesecake. Also reasonably priced, should have been £208 for 5 starters, 6 adult mains, 2 children’s mains, 3 adult desserts and 2 child desserts with drinks however we visited during the Eat Out to Help Out offer so the bill was only £128. Due to this a sizeable tip was left as this restaurant, it’s waiting, bar and kitchen staff fully deserve. If ever back in Cloughton will definitely visit again. "
"We had no idea what a gem awaited us when we booked two nights at The Blacksmiths in mid-September. We were due to be in Spain... What a revelation! Rooms were small but spotless (we had one of the 'cottages' on the carpark and our friends were inside the pub) and had everything we needed in them, including tea/coffee. The food was lovely - I had been worried by the 'chips with everything' menu but there was no pervading smell of chips and they were really good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful - although perhaps a bit over-worked as the place was busy, even midweek. Special mention to Leigh who was good-humoured throughout and made us laugh, despite being run off her feet at times. (Note to owner - make sure you keep her on, and she probably deserves a pay rise!) All-in-all, a really lovely couple of nights in a part of the country we didn't know at all well. I think we'll be returning - lockdowns permitting!"
"Just returned from a weekend break at the Blacksmiths Arms, we had room 7 with the four poster bed, the room was spacious and very clean the bed was a good size and extremely comfortable. Our arrival was greeted by Tony the Landlord who made us feel very welcome, the breakfast was tasty hot and delicious with a varied menu so everything was available so to speak. We ate at the restaurant and had more delicious food, Tony and his staff run a tight ship, the whole place was spotless, very friendly and helpful. Top marks"

"Due to changing travel arrangements we made an impromptu booking at the Crown Spa Hotel for two nights (Friday and Saturday). On arrival we were greeted at reception by a young lady with dark hair (I wish we took her name), she was so friendly and great customer service, and couldn’t do enough to help us. The room we had (223) was perfect, very spacious, big bed and lovely bathroom, and although we didn’t have a sea view the city view was nice too. The hotels main reception area had several sofas and always seemed to have a great atmosphere. We spent one afternoon in the spa and were pleasantly surprised with how great it was, there’s a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms, ice shower, two saunas and a foot spa. The lady on spa reception was lovely too, in fact all the staff at the spa and hotel were really friendly. We are definitely planning another trip back to this hotel! "
"Overall, this hotel is a nice place to stay. The location has fantastic views (albeit our room never). The gym is good. Staff are friendly. The room was small but comfortable. The only thing that we think really lets it down is the breakfast which is why we went for a three. We're used to help yourself buffets in four star hotels. Even some of the budget chains have gone down this route and offer better food. At the Crown Spa, they serve you from the menu. By the time we'd taken off the hash brown and black pudding off the full English (not our taste), there really isn't much left. There are other options advertised although the fish options weren't available either day we were there apart from the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on day two. We went for that after being disappointed with the full English option but the scrambled egg was overdone and cold so didn't appear freshly made. All this for £15 per person which felt like very poor value for money. Parking is on the street but they give you a permit. We got parked fine but visited in March so not sure it'd be so easy in high season. There is a small hotel car park which they charge at £7 per night. Overall, we liked the hotel and a real shame the breakfast isn't great."
"Been to this hotel before and loved it so decided to stay overnight for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Once again not disappointed. Checking in was good with Hannah and Lewis doing a great job both professionally and very friendly. We were upgraded to a lovely sea view room and received card and chocolates - nice touch ! We used the spa facilities ie pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc which are excellent. Food for both Dinner and Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Scarborough."
